While I can see and even agree (to a certain extent) with people that this does feel like an ad LOL, I do like this formate of video essay it just feels a bit out of place here? I don’t know how to describe it like the personal aspect of your videos felt a bit gone here. With some tweaks like injecting your face more and more of your personal opinions along with the facts I think this format would be really good instead of just having potential! I also really like the editing style in general so hats off to the editor!
yeah its def the personal aspect that's lacking :(( i think people are a bit weirded out not just because of how diff it is from her usual videos, but also because the thumbnail looks exactly like the other drama related videos on this channel (with the black fire background) i think if kat wants to try out this type of informative video essay on the same channel as the drama-related videos it would be a good idea to differentiate them by the thumbnail/title so there isn't any confusion on what type of video it is!
Hey Kat! Just wanted to say that I play Genshin (or used to before the VA strike) and you don’t NEED to spend money to get the things you want. I for example never spent money or anything I just invested some time into getting the things I wanted. Love the new format btw!
I don't get the 'Feels like an ad" thing, but it it quite different. I do think adding your face/vtuber in randomly as well as some personal thoughts might be better though. And maybe start it more personal like you did at the end.
Idk why everyone is screaming this video is just an ad since it’s not like her other videos, can’t a girl try new video styles? Personally I love these kinda info videos about games and franchises - I find them interesting!
I usually watch your art related videos but I really enjoyed the style of this video! I enjoy face cam cause it adds for that personal feel but I also consume media that is edited this way and in a more essay format. I enjoy both! The clips you used made it engaging to watch as I listen so I appreciate that 😆 Proud of you for trying something different because change can be daunting for some people ❤ it just caters to a different audience and I am that audience LOL I have been throughly enjoying the game since I’m a pretty casual gamer at this point in my life. I don’t feel pressure to stay on the app in order to get ahead. I love sharing my pulls with my bf and my friends and sharing that excitement when someone pulls something cool. It’s a super chill game and I think it’s pretty clear who their target audience is for. Not everyone will appreciate it but they definitely had a target audience in mind. The game is still so new so there is so much room for it to grow and evolve. I can’t wait for trading to come out so I can get help with completing my Kanto collection and grab that immersive Mew card 🩷 Good luck on your future pulls and congrats on that immersive Mewtwo 🤩
I absolutely am loving this game so far. My favorite thing about it is that it gives me the satisfaction of opening up card packs without actually having to go out and spend money on packs. And I like that you can choose Wonder picks from different players to try and complete your setlist. I can't wait to see what else this game will have in store as they add more packs to the game and expand on it.
OK I LOVED THE EDITING ANDDD I RELATE TO PLAYING MOBILE GAMES ALOT for me pokemon tcgp is super fun (i play it when i cant play pokemon go or i dont want to play pokemon s or v)
When I was little we didn't have that much money and my mom didn't like the card-collection hobby, so I didn't get to buy a whole lot until years later when I had my own money. I was always kinda bummed that I didn't get to experience the first edition packs and just in general be more involved with a hobby I really liked. I still don't have much money today, so I don't buy that many cards and the money I can spend on hobbies is spent on other hobbies. It's nice to experience the 'first set' of Pokemon cards, even if it's digital and obviously not the first set in existence, only in Pocket.
This video is not bad even if you were pay for promotion you did very good to keep it entertaining. I watched this whole video with no complaints even hitting the problems of Pokémon and the video is very very good. I like this video.
i'll be honest this video seems kinda... dispersed? like, there's some deep diving on topics that don't have too much to do with the title (like the pokemon go and genshin sections), it makes it feel a bit drawn out and some errors make it seem rushed D: please don't take this as me being mean, i think this is kat's first time doing an informative video essay like this and mistakes happen, but some stuff started bugging me while watching this so i'll point out the ones that irked me the most x.x at 1:42 she says 200k downloads.... and 4 million units????? like, you couldn't download red and blue, they were gameboy games, downloading games on consoles didn't became a thing until the 2000s (and even then it wasn't widely used because internet just wasn't as fast back then), i'm genuinely curious where those numbers were pulled from at 7:08 the example of irl gacha is... pop mart?? and the game saying as starting the trend is csgo??? the term gacha is from IRL gachapon machines from japan, where you'd put a coin and it'd make a "ga-tcha" sound, then you'd get a prize. the first game that coined the term gacha was the korean MMO maplestory in ~2003, and various other eastern MMOs that came after also had the same systems, you could say that csgo popularized the trend, but it did not start! 9:53 these two examples don't really make sense to be in this section because they are VERY different genres than overcooked, MMORPGs can very much be played solo for the most part, while a direct co-op game like overcooked REQUIRES more players to simply start the game (also D&D online is such a weird and niche choice?? LOL) also there's some funny errors with the captions like in 2:33 saying that the gameboy costed 8k dollars or 3:26 saying that D/P had 415 hours of gameplay, nothing really bad but it does distract a little ASDKLJSAD other than these earlier sections, i actually quite like the last part of the video :> i've seen some videos about this game before but i didn't know it was a fully independent game from the TCG live, i thought it was just a revamped version, i remember playing it when i was younger and liking it but it was really buggy on my potato computer LMAO
Love the video but would love to see it you keeping a personal touch of having you physically in the video or your v-tuber since it feels like you are here with us, reviewing and checking something new and cool out!
I know this game because i follow a japanese illustrator + vtuber who frequently play this game on his stream 😁. The video format? I don't mind. Just have fun, kat!
it isn't an ad, just a new video format. Positive video essays doesn't always mean the creator is being paid to say these things, I just think that her tone comes across a bit formal/as if she's doing an ad read
hey so no hate to this video style and happy for you for trying new styles but lowkey this isn't it. like its kinda giving content farm and ad readish which turns me off a bit so
I think maybe a vid with this much praise going so in depth with nothing but either stock footage or official images isn’t the best way to try out a new video style- I think that’s why it feels so much like an ad. It also feels kind of disjointed, like… what is the point of going into genshin currency? The thought isn’t followed through- there’s these criticisms of predatory gacha practices for genshin, and then you’re back to just praising poke tcg. “You convert money to time!” …so you’re just still doing microtransactions, they just change the currency you’re using, its the same as SPEND 10 GEMS TO FINISH THIS BUILDING from endless other ftp microtransaction hell games. I had to triple check there was no mention of ad or promotion in the tags or description. The overwhelmingly positive views and trying to pretend predatory gacha practices are toootally different in this one because you don’t need to spend real money you just spend time, unless you want to speed up that time! Just like you could spend 12 hours grinding in genshin impact for a roll buuut you could also speed up that time by just paying real money.
Is this just an add? I don't mind the different editing style, i even preferred it but it's kinda just dogging on other games and hyping pokemon TCG, i get if it was just expressing your like for a game but it feels less like expressing your own opinion and more like trying to convince me to download it, anyway
this video kinda feels like an ad 😭😭 i played the game for two days bcus i like gatcha games and i love pokémon, but tbh the battle system and card collection felt kinda lackluster. on top of that, i had no sense of gratification when pulling! (imo ofc so take this with a grain of salt!) all in all: the game feels like a money grab.. there’s just no personality/identity that the game is trying to create! it’s just not for me personally!
Oh it's an ad...
Tbh this vid feels a bit like an ad…😅 not my preference of video format that we’ve come to know and love from you
While I can see and even agree (to a certain extent) with people that this does feel like an ad LOL, I do like this formate of video essay it just feels a bit out of place here? much rather the old video format it feels more personal yk
i love this game dont get me wrong. because i loved using the physical cards as a kid...but tbh this whole video comes off as one big ad...
this feels like a very different kind of video from you for some reason...
this feels like an ad. straight up? its not even really the video style, its just the words...
Why does the video feel so different :(
Hey Kat! Just wanted to say that I play Genshin (or used to before the VA strike) and you don’t NEED to spend money to get the things you want. I for example never spent money or anything I just invested some time into getting the things I wanted. Love the new format btw!
Maybe the real ptcgp is the freinds we made along the way
I don't get the 'Feels like an ad" thing, but it it quite different. I do think adding your face/vtuber in randomly as well as some personal thoughts might be better though. And maybe start it more personal like you did at the end.

I agree is not a ad in my opinion it more like analisis only reason it feel like a ad is because of her tone and formal which I like ☺️
People in the comments not understanding that this is videogame design essay. I loved the video btw u_u

It doesn't mention ad anywhere, isn't that against the rules?
It's not an ad, she says in the description she's trying a new format of video
@@AHylianWarrior Weird...

I really love this app but it ain't that serious
This game taught me how to actually play the card game, I use to have NO idea
I know this game because i follow a japanese illustrator + vtuber who frequently play this game on his stream 😁.
The video format? I don't mind. Just have fun, kat!
An almost 20 minute ad....yeah skip.
so you’re not gonna disclose that it’s an ad? lowkey kinda shady
it isn't an ad, just a new video format. Positive video essays doesn't always mean the creator is being paid to say these things, I just think that her tone comes across a bit formal/as if she's doing an ad read
guys im pretty sure its not an ad just a different editor lmao
did you get hacked? this format doesnt seem like something you would normallly do
midway thru the vid i got an ad for the game while i was playing the game
Lets goooo I have 13 crowns and 20,000 cards🔥🏆👑🚀
hey so no hate to this video style and happy for you for trying new styles but lowkey this isn't it. like its kinda giving content farm and ad readish which turns me off a bit so

This feels oddly familiar
Didn't jump on that train, despite being both a massive Pokémon fan and a gacha player... I just never was to interested in the Pokémon TCG
this is the first time i ever disliked one of her vids ):
Is this just an add? I don't mind the different editing style, i even preferred it but it's kinda just dogging on other games and hyping pokemon TCG, i get if it was just expressing your like for a game but it feels less like expressing your own opinion and more like trying to convince me to download it, anyway
lmao lame, love the game, hate the ad.
I love this game
I love this video. Sooo cool
Hola
I got a Pokémon tch ad when I clicked ont this
mid game lacking content they better add gx cards ultrabeasts and more stuff or 🛌you can do basically everything in a week of playtime.
this video screams "i spend money so i need to make a video so i can write the money off that I spent on taxes"
IM WAY TO EARLY SOB
EARLY!
this video kinda feels like an ad 😭😭 i played the game for two days bcus i like gatcha games and i love pokémon, but tbh the battle system and card collection felt kinda lackluster. on top of that, i had no sense of gratification when pulling! (imo ofc so take this with a grain of salt!)
