No dead ass. people are in here talking about she's just confused with her identity but its like so yall aint see the part where she was having sex with minors. tbh the whole video could've been about that -thats what I thought the whole video was gone be about tbhhhh
I think she can be classified as multiracial, but I'm not sure that she's biracial. Both of her parents are biracial (they are both mixed, each with one black parent and one white parent) so she grew up with grandparents with distinctly different racial backgrounds, but her parents are similarly mixed. I stand to be corrected, but I only bring it up because the internalised anti blackness is more of an issue if that's the case. She would never be able to identify as white so pandering to whiteness feels more problematic than if she was truly biracial
She gets both halves from her parents. Lenny (Black mother + White father) + Lisa (white mother + Black father). You could categorize her as “multiracial”, but she received a white/black gene from both parents, if you were to simplify that. She’s Biracial. Multiracial means you’re mixed with multiple races (ie. Jhene Aiko), which technically she’s not. If that makes sense. As far as the internalized anti-blackness, it could stem from her upbringing as a child to celebrities. Likely hung out w/ a certain demographic of ppl, likely went to a school that’s predominately a certain demographic of ppl, so in turn she gravitates more to that certain demographic of ppl. Which can be said for A LOT of Hollywood kids. Zoe once said she couldn’t relate to black ppl.. It doesn’t make sense, but at the same time it does. Especially when you look at the circles she’s in.
This just opened my eyes so wide 😭😭 like honestly I can understand it more if you actually have a white parent because you want to be able to identify with both of them but in this case … who is yt at home 😩😩
I’m a black woman and went to school for theater. So I get what she meant by putting “black” in front of everything. In school I was only given “black” roles while my white classmates were given roles that made sense with their personality type. I lost out on opportunities with agents down the line because I had been made to believe that my “blackness” came before the actual roles I would fit well in. So when it came time for the agent to ask me which roles I could see myself playing, I just started rattling off a bunch of characters from tv that were played by black actresses, but VERY different in character type. 4 years and I hadn’t ever learned what actually character types I could play so they did not call me back. And Zoe had auditioned for Cat woman in the past and was told they’re not going “urban.” So again she was being seen as a “black” actress instead of just an actress. I think the only reason she got the role this time around is because studios knew they fucked up and wanted to cast based on talent instead of race this time around.
Yes i would never get cast in any roles no matter how better more talented because they didnt want to cast any Asian Actress in a Shakespeare role when I use to do theatre as the audience would always complain or never get it if an Asian or Black is in a lead in Midsummers Night Dream or Much ado about nothing you get nowhere in theatre being non-white 🤷

She has people constantly telling her she's black on Instagram which must be annoying. She's biracial, that's it. Everyone has issues fitting in even mono-racial people.
Zoe always seems like she is always cosplaying both of her parents to me. That said, I always cut her slack because she hasn't quite "found" herself yet. Maybe her new path as a director will be the real her. As for the Jaden thing, I always thought she meant mentally and spiritually Jaden was the love of her life. They understood each other deeply. Which made sense to me because they share the unique experience of being POC that grew up nepo babies in LA.
There are a lot of people who are genetically one race and culturally another because of the way they were raised and that's fine. She's culturally white and the way she talks about her black identity is a reflection of the culture she's most familiar with. We only know what we're taught.
Then we should have ACTUAL black women& younger women/girl representing that NOT the erasure of them and mainly yellow beige/ biracials with our natural hairstyle& creativity! This is yt washing and colorism is why she exists at a level& get certain opportunities in Hollywood, just like Hallie, Zendaya, Bob Marley ect. she’s not where she is because she’s”black” but half yt! Their only claiming”black”when rejected or”othered” by their other half. Other than that, they relate to being black& non black&non black CLOSE relatives, genetics, society, culture, parent, ect. Blacks don’t unless adopted. And, they usually look mixed and give a sense of coming from a mixed race or different background.
The usage of the Basquiat quote by itself did not sound like internalized racism necessarily, but rather frustration with being reduced to her race, and probably to a very simplistic image of what it means to be black. But the other comments you mention here do suggest that she has an issue with being black and feels somewhat disconnected from other black people, especially the treating the braids as a joke. I appreciate you giving lots of examples to support your point. It's in putting all these together that your argument becomes more persuasive.
Every teenage guy I've met who has "dated" a woman at least 5 to 10 years his senior showed some type of arrogant delusion. Getting an older woman to "take you seriously" was seen as a badge of honor. I always found it weird. Then again, I was a loser in that age range anyway, lol.
I have to cut Zoe some slack because she was raised by Lisa who was raised by a white woman. Lisa was on the outer limits herself. So I get the confusion. Her grandmother Roxie was the truth though.
Yet Lisa had no issues wearing black women hairstyles and other cultural relevant things but it only comes off as cosplaying like with most biracials, specifically with yt moms.
@@mahneekaha.nightmare5220 Lisa also had a problem with her black features, mainly her lips which was actually the most beautiful feature on her face. She had her lips reduced.
I know lots of people who don’t consider Zoë Kravitz biracial, because she has two black parents, regardless of the fact they’re mixed. It depends on who you ask. I also think especially for people who are diasporic Black people, it’s very common for people to be generationally mixed, which imo not the same thing as being biracial. For example my mom’s family is Afro-Indigenous from Louisiana (aka “ Louisiana Creole”), and my dad’s people are Afro-Mexican. If people ask me or my sister what we are we say Afro-Indigenous or just Black but? We have African, Indigenous, and some European ancestry generationally, but everyone in our family does so? Biracial isn’t an accurate description. Both of our parents are Black, so we’re Black. Not saying this applies to Zoe in the same way, but I do think that’s a very different experience than parents who literally two different races being together. Some ethnicities are “mixed” by default due to colonisation. All Black Americans have partial European ancestry due to chattel slavery 😢
I'm similar. My Mother is black/mexican and father is black/white. Only met 1 person irl that's like us. We lowkey kinda rare lol. We still black, but just a different variation.
@@LocsOfHopeI totally feel where you are coming from. Thanks for the explanation but for the video poster to declare she is bi-racial is just silly. I have never heard Zoe’ say that.
People who don't consider her biracial because she has 2 biracial parents is like not considering someone black because they have 2 black parents. Those people you know aren't using their brains. The obsession with some blck people wanting biracials to identify as black stems from their own self hatred and jealousy. She's not that important to care about. You're identity isn't the same as hers. She's just as much white as she is black.
16:45 thick eyebrows is not a black feature😭 please don't belie it if anyone says it. eyebrows thickness goes through fashion periods, my mom plucked hers cause at that time it was fashionable to have thread thin eyebrows
And this is from a yt Caucasian? Since when did you have vast knowledge of what black features or how different black peoples look like? I’ve never met one Caucasian who did. If no one believes me on how ignorant the typical yt is in regards to anything “black”, simply go outside as ask one, for yourself!😂
Says a Caucasian. Go ask any random yt what blacks look like, or their culture, history, ect. Including the blacks in, what they consider “their own country” where they’re blacks who been there longer, If you want a good laugh😂
I know exactly what Zoe meant. Those who don’t are probably not of her ethnicity! For the record, it very common for certain blacks to have very thick eyebrows LIKE THE HAIR ON OUR HEADS. Yts have thinner or thin af hair. Yet more body& facial hair than almost all blacks. That doesn’t mean it’s thicker tho.
Her stating the fact that she is multiracial and not flat Black should not be a problem it’s literally true lol. Not exactly sure how that comes off as internalized racism. It seems like she’s calling out the absurdity of how society expects you to be when it comes to the whole idea of what it means to be Black. Many people do this including Black Americans. We’re multifaceted people so even if she does actually struggle with parts of her identity she’s really not alone or special in that regard. She’s also not a villain for it lol
She’s an “octaroon” tho outdated terminology is still fun to say as there’s also “quadroons” whereas octaroons are in 1/8th and quadroons are 1/4th amounts of constructed notion of a drop of “discernible as/ classified as ‘Black’ ‘racialized’ heritage/background along the family tree” sociologically/economically/civil liberties/agencies/sovereignty speaking yet presentation / phenotypical appearance/ impression given/interpreted by most (tho even then that’s wishy-washy wind & the willows ever-shifting & not concrete as in both her parents had been children of mulatto parents with a designated also ever-shifting modern amalgamation sector of wh!te- some sort of sector/branch/amalgamation of ‘Jew’ cultural heritage backdrop wether of local USA diaspora & or wh!te appearing / classified Jew foreign/international residency/settlement parent & Black American & or Black international/foreigner diaspora parents And then
@@alphayimShe is 1000% not an “octoroon”, I say as a Black person who’s great grandparent was 😂. She’s Black by American standards. Her parents are both biracial, so some people would consider her also mixed. Other people would just say she’s Black, because she has two Black parents (mixed or not). Octoroon is a racist and outdated term to use at all, but for factuality’s sake: Drakes child, Aubrey, for example would be considered that, since he has 1 Black grandparent. It means 1/8 black. How you ration a woman with two biracial parents is 1/8 anything is wild 😂
@@osimiri7111 nah you’re saying she wouldn’t pass as an octaroon and or quadroon as in 1/4th Black whereas in her hair texture and faint dewiness - you still see Blackness in her as an art museum portrait phenotypically whereas Drake’s son is merely a quadroon at most yet no octaroon since he phenotypically presents with looser jumbo bright blonde curls and blue eyes yet kravitz still has morena features with dark hair and brown eyes tho their tree branches rather than physical appearance dice roll at random of visible traits shifting thru the years/hormones is the defining element of quadroon vs octaroon while you are thinking of appearances in each child as the measurement rather than lineage
I gave her so many chance through out the years but by 2022, I got tired of trying to overlook her weird shit, and so did everyone else. She ruined the last bit popularity she had, which is unfortunate cause she’s been trying for years and after like 7 failed attempts through major franchises, with Batman , she had finally made it.
As a biracial black person who grew up in a predominantly white area my entire life, I always agreed with Zoe on things. It’s hard existing when people just see you as black when deep down you have more in common with the white people around you because that’s where you are from and it’s literally 50% of what you are. White people love to use black as an insult and to put you down when you are biracial. It’s frustrating to have to always bring your blackness to things when you just want to exist. I 100% identify as a black woman because I am physically black. But it’s annoying that that’s all people see and put you in a box because of it. I think Zoe was just desperate to be seen as an individual than just her race. Especially when the stereotypes of that race don’t match your interests and lifestyle no matter how many people around you try to force you to think you should be that way.
Ok, I'm only like 5 mins into this, but I thought she was gonna say she didn't identify with being blk because she didn't like hip hop and Tyler Perry movies because she had a limited and stereotypical view of what it meant to be black. At her big age she surely can't think this way.
6:02 me being biracial myself. Half Japanese and half Spanish. I never fit in. I was never too Japanese or never too Spanish. The Spanish kids used to tease and beat me just because I wasn't like them. So I understand this. She isn't just black. That's not all who she is. She is her. And that's all that matters. Just like me. I am who I am. I understand I can never understand black people but I have to say you will never understand what it's like to be biracial.
Hie, l'm a completely black person with no admixture, and l have empathy for your experience. I think people tend to minimise the experience of mixed-race people. I dont think it's easy to be mixed sometimes. We need to have more understanding. By the way, my personal opinion is that you can celebrate both or all of your cultures and ethnicities. I just dont understand how a mixed person should choose one side or why we should dictate how they should live.
As a parent of biracial children, I'm aware of the extra pressure they'll feel in society finding their place. I try my best to make sure they know "every Black experience IS the Black experience".
So you don’t push they’re biracial identity? They’re biracial&are having a biracial experience! Blacks can’t relate to that. Why do people keep pushing “black” with everything biracials experience?that’s any person of color’s experience, not uniquely”black”. Many yts& non blacks know a mixed/biracial when they see one,”biracial privilege” is a thing, historically&presently. Is that a”black” experience? Do blacks experience that privilege or being half yt& sharing traits& behavior, genetics with that parent, their family, ect.? No.
Zoe Kravitz is NOT biracial, her parents are biracial...she's just light skinned at this point, she's a nice young lady trying to make it in the world...
No, she is 2nd generation biracial. That is a thing. Genotypes don't change just because u don't have two parents of two different races. They just passed their biracialhood onto her
@gtitboij2586 nope doesn't need to be, but if we're talking science, genetically and biologically, looking at the percentages so mathematically as well, SHE IS HALF AND HALF. In other words, one does not have to have to be monoracial to have parents who look alike.
I'm biracial myself. If both your parents are biracial, I say that you are too. Why would her blackness outweigh her whiteness? This was always weird to me because biracial people already struggle with balancing their identities and I don't think you're more one than another. By American standards, she is black. But genetically she is as much white so it's weird to just ignore that
I have never paid much attention to her so I thought there would be something surprising to hear. I gotta say, I don't find her to be that problematic. Her racial angst seems sad.
A lot of RUclipsrs do commentary like this... people who have day jobs like to keep them until channels blow up. That is just basic common sense when you don't have a trust fund.

I think she’s beautiful and talented and a woman so I love her. Hope she’s having a nice day. I honestly love zoe but sometimes she just gets on my nerves like one time she said that she hate’s white people but when you see her dating history it’s literally all white men and she’s always into white girls like she’s so confusing what race does she like now
and also this is off topic but she said that in school her entire class was only white girls with “big b**bs” as she said and nice hair and she was the only black girl in her entire class, she felt insecure about her hair and said that it was kinky and ugly which is why she felt insecure when she was young
It's amazing that her saying "I hate white people" is just a border note for her and not a reason for her cancellation. You can't say that about any other group without significant backlash in the least, except white people.
We all start somewhere and the same people that whine about her being a nepo baby would do EXACTLY as she has done, taken the hand she's been dealt 🤷🏽♀️ I love that you mentioned this❤❤❤ People should be able to have their own views despite their skin. Its maddening. I agree with most the things Zoe has said in her own defense and in defense of Will Smith.❤
based off ur video she isn't the best person however with some of the stuff Zoe said, you seem to have taken it too seriously. also she's mixed race with mixed parents who also struggled with their identity so I don't expect her to not have issues with her own identity.
Zoe's parents are both black, therefore she is NOT biracial, she is a light skinned black person. Her racial confusion is most likely due to info fed to her in her home. We learn our love, like, dislike or confusion for our racial identity in our home, by the ppl who parent us.
Tyler Perry Movies like early Medea was funny as hell. But then Tyler came out with horrible movies. Because who thought that The Fall of Grace was ground-breaking cinema😜
I've never understood why she's such a popular actress, besides the nepo thing, because although she's very pretty, she has absolutely no charisma whatsoever.
She’s was never a “popular” actress people barely knew her back then, her popularity wasn’t like ariana grande’s popularity (i mentioned ariana to give u an example because she’s obviously known by the entire world) and I’m one of those people who never knew zoe until the batman. She only actually became popular after the batman for her catwoman role.

@Peaceandlove33333 that doesn't make her bi-racial. Bi means two. You could argue she is multi racial, but if both her parents are black, regardless if the parents are mixed or not, she is not bi-racial.
For her she can be considered biracial because she only has 2 races in her ...50%yt both parents 50%blk both parents = multiple times mixed but still only biracial. o3:10min.s - I'm a bit confused because you just showed her family, and both of her appearance are obviously black; so, how is she biracial? I understand that her grandfather is a white man, but you have two black parents, you are black. You can consider yourself biracial just as much as Black people in America can consider ourselves biracial because of the enslavement of our ancestors. Also, when it comes to the race conflict surrounding biracial people and what they are forced to claim, I think it's very disingenuous to label Black people as a party forcing them to claim something when we just accept them as Black seeing as we have created a diaspora out of necessity and force that has included every person who has Black within them within our race. So, I'm sure people can see the contradiction in us now having to disown this same group of people that has been recognized as Black and our brothers and sisters for eons. I also want to point-out the nuance in what you're saying because you're claiming that biracial people are forced to pick a race when, really, it's not as mutual as you make it seem. Most people hearing that would believe that biracial people are being forced to pick either race when they are actually relegated to only being considered either biracial or Black. I think that fact makes it more apparent that Black people are doing nothing wrong in claiming our brothers and sisters (not that you are, necessarily saying that). o9:18min.s - Wait! So, you made it this far into this commentary regarding this particular subject, and you have yet to point-out how disgusting it was for Chris Rock to make a joke about someone's health condition-who's in the audience with clear indication of her suffering from that condition as he presents-but you're taking time out to condemn Will Smith's reaction to his doing so? I don't believe what Will did is appropriate either, and I believe it set us back (because we are seen as a monolith, despite the fact that we are not one, as Black people). But I think it's very disingenuous to act as if he did that for no reason and not draw attention to the fact that it was absolutely wrong for Chris to have done what he did. Not doing so makes it seem as though Will Smith had absolutely no provocation. Although you mentioned what led to the slap, you emphasizing the importance of keeping your hands to yourself without emphasizing the importance of respecting the ill and women gets that point lost in the sauce. 11:50min.s - Peep' that w. woman looking at her with absolute disgust in the back. Honestly, the longer you watch, the more you see all of their ridiculous looks. 14:39min.s - Okay; so, maybe I'm from some weird generation of the 9os, but I don't see a problem with the 22-year-old getting with a 17y.o. if 17y.a. is legal in that state. I mean I get it, lot's confusing stuff can happen, people can write strange things and etc. But when tf society became that saint to have rights to cancel random people for alleged things? Not the best to be proud of, are you sure that "society" is that immaculate to be a judge?

It was her parents job (as biracial adults) to help Zoe build her confidence and identity as a biracial person
She has people constantly telling her she's black on Instagram which must be annoying. She's biracial, that's it. Everyone has issues fitting in even mono-racial people.
SHE SAID SHE GOT BRAIDS AS A JOKE!?!?!? damn
I mean, do people always get an haircut to make a a social statement? Usually it's just a whim.
I’ve met Zoe a few times, she’s actually a really cool person, super chill and down to earth
She seems cool
And you know what....that's all that matters.
I thought so ❤
My brother saw her in NYC once, and he said the same thing, she was super nice.
End kissing under age boys
The instagram caption got me where u said I had a black cringe 🤣
😭😂 That one joke was funnier than anything that fraud Andrew Shultz has said in his entire life
Zoe always seems like she is always cosplaying both of her parents to me.
Possibly the best response I've seen. If she identified as black no one would care even-though she's not.
Society still wants Black people to fit in a box. We are just as multi-faceted & layered as EVERYONE else.
Do I need to go on?

she’s not where she is because she’s”black” but half yt!
We shouldn't care what other people think, including what biracial people think about us. I hope you're not implying that she's black.
It's in putting all these together that your argument becomes more persuasive.
yh it seemed like a call for unity not to disregard her "blackness"...a bit of a "miss" take to me
Every teenage guy I've met who has "dated" a woman at least 5 to 10 years his senior showed some type of arrogant delusion. Getting an older woman to "take you seriously" was seen as a badge of honor. I always found it weird. Then again, I was a loser in that age range anyway, lol.
Gurls do it too
The Tyler Perry comment did it for me.
She’s a mixed race woman people expect to be a”black women” she wasn’t even birthed by one
@@mahneekaha.nightmare5220 Lisa also had a problem with her black features, mainly her lips which was actually the most beautiful feature on her face. She had her lips reduced.
@@kaysmith8787 - Wow, didn’t know that!
If you've been around many biracial people, even with black mothers they're no different. Zoe was raised by her biracial parents.
It’s her hating her black side like girl😂😒😒
No she is bi racial I also thinks she bleaches her skin
Her self loathing makes me sad.
She's definitely confident and lives herself. She just doesn't think she's black which she's not.
16:45 thick eyebrows is not a black feature😭 please don't belie it if anyone says it. eyebrows thickness goes through fashion periods, my mom plucked hers cause at that time it was fashionable to have thread thin eyebrows
I think she meant that she relaxed her hair and tweezed her brows because she thought it made her look less black
@@mahneekaha.nightmare5220 iktr..... But you do know that they stalk our forums and pages now, right. That's why alot of them say "Chili 🌶️", lol
Yeah i dont understand the argument at all some ppl are so weird as to say Us mixed ppl arent even black the internet got yall minds gone
Yeah it’s true😅
Isn't she mixed with 2 biracial parents?

The fact that you tripped a bit reading her blackish artistic comment cracked me up 😅
6:02 me being biracial myself.
Spanish is not a race.
No.
And the problem is that the age of consent is 17 in New York. Disturbing.

@jadacampbell9331
Biracialhood ? Is that a scientific term ?
@gtitboij2586 nope doesn't need to be, but if we're talking science, genetically and biologically, looking at the percentages so mathematically as well, SHE IS HALF AND HALF. In other words, one does not have to have to be monoracial to have parents who look alike.
@@jadacampbell9331
I never said that...can you even define race?
I'm biracial myself. If both your parents are biracial, I say that you are too. Why would her blackness outweigh her whiteness? This was always weird to me because biracial people already struggle with balancing their identities and I don't think you're more one than another. By American standards, she is black. But genetically she is as much white so it's weird to just ignore that

and also this is off topic but she said that in school her entire class was only white girls with “big b**bs” as she said and nice hair and she was the only black girl in her entire class, she felt insecure about her hair and said that it was kinky and ugly which is why she felt insecure when she was young
It's amazing that her saying "I hate white people" is just a border note for her and not a reason for her cancellation. You can't say that about any other group without significant backlash in the least, except white people.

Totally shocked! I liked Zoe Kravitz. What a pity
Zoe's parents are both black, therefore she is NOT biracial, she is a light skinned black person. Her racial confusion is most likely due to info fed to her in her home. We learn our love, like, dislike or confusion for our racial identity in our home, by the ppl who parent us.

This whole video it’s pointless and speculative. The worst part is it’s about people that aren’t even really relevant anymore.
o3:10min.s - I'm a bit confused because you just showed her family, and both of her appearance are obviously black; so, how is she biracial?
But her lusting after and possibly doing things with Jaden is totally wrong.

did we not watch the same video? She committed this offense multiple times and is extremely self hating to people she then says she wants to “represent”. She uses her culture as a scapegoat when it’s convenient. That’s not okay. Cancel culture isn’t real because it doesn’t last but she should still be held accountable for her actions and damning words
@@KaiKailuvthis is the problem with today's society. Not a ONE OF US is void of flaws. She doesn't owe any of us an explanation for anything. Held accountable for what and to whom? How do we get past racism if people won't stop talking about how everyone is supposed to look, act, and be because of their skin color. It's just nuts and people are taking the bait! Everyone always wants to talk about everyone else's problems and mistakes. She's a human.
Excuse me but that 5 year age difference is almost a third of a 17 year old's life
I’m sure the police agree. Funny jaden mentions the fun he had in Paris, a place wih the age of consent makes their age gap legal
New subscriber now much love 😊
