I enjoyed this show. But it's important to remember that this period in our history wasn't "simpler" or "more innocent" for everyone. Maybe for some people. Definitely not for everyone.
my daughter and I watched this show each morning. days I will have forever as we lived her first years together. no day care for my child to raise....she did the same for her children......so sad the children who are parentless for their formative years. Thanks Mr. Greenjeans and Cap'n Kangaroo....Moose and Bun.
I loved Captain Kangaroo! I also loved Mr. Greenjeans, Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose. Captain Kangaroo has had a bunch of music videos from when the show premiered in 1955. That's 26 years before MTV!
I also loved and cracked up every time the ping pong balls would fall on captain kangaroos head. And he would just turn his head slowly looking disgusted into the camera. That would be totally funny.
I love to Captain Kangaroo and Mr Green jeans and the rest of the group. I grew up watching them as well and love the show every morning. I also knew as a child that bears did not have flat faces.
you bet those are good times you for school Captain Kangaroo well that sure brings back a lot of memories America needs a step back in time for the good times
I remember some of the animals Mr Green jeans showed: a raccoon, a monkey, a lamb and even a bloodhound. And the musical interludes with animation...boy, I wish I could be 5 years old again.
WOW! Gee, I'm feeling really old now😮. It's too bad that kids today can't enjoy something as simple as a song and goofy graphics. I think "we" need to remember that kids are still just kids. They are exposed and live in so many "adult" type issues I don't believe they know how to deal with things rationally. They seem to react in the ways they see on TV. Sad 😢
My mother bred Dandie Dinmonts throughout the 60s and 70s. . A litter of our puppies appeared on the duo is. How can I find a copy of this show ? Anyone ?
The memory watching this show when I was a kid is absolutely priceless.
This was a very cute show I miss those days so much
This song brings back memories of my childhood. A real treasure!
Was a teen in 70s and I miss this era of 📺.
A look back at a simpler, more innocent time in America. Great memories!

Amazing, I remember this bit even after 40 years. I remember really liking the song. Of course I didn't know at the time that it was Sinatra singing.
I remember when I was really young, I was in love with Mr. Green Jeans, and I wanted to marry him when I grew up.
I used to love Captain Kangaroo. Mr. Greenjeans was one of my favorites.
Me too. Did know I learning something and having so much fun. Frank Sinatra.

Sung by the immortal Chairman of the Board himself, Frank Sinatra.

Wow, such fond memories! This is how I remember CK. Such an honest, innocent time. Thanks for the post.
Man how I wish someone would post that Mr Green Jeans' record that I remember from 1964, with classics like Betty Botter on it.
Mr.Greenjeans was so cool!
I also loved and cracked up every time the ping pong balls would fall on captain kangaroos head. And he would just turn his head slowly looking disgusted into the camera. That would be totally funny.
I always waited for that!
How sweet I miss those simple times as a child 😂
Love Mister Green Jeans !!

Andy loved this show...
I forgot how amazing Mr Greenjeans was.is this from a 1964 show or something?
Every day
I wonder how he made that grow so fast?
do you know what year this was.had to be before he had a cowboy hat
This aired on October 14, 1968, and possibly other times.
I liked Mr Green Jeans more than Capt. Kangaroo. Mr. GJ always brought animals on the show. The Capt. sounded sleepy and was boring.
LOL
