Do all Spencers have a hole area where you have the shower sump? Do you have to remove the compression post? We have a 1962 Spencer 35 and want to do this but we're not sure if the hole is there or if it's large enough to fit any sump.
the bent over nail was and still is a legit way to hang tubes with wires or if the wires are already doubly insulated, the wires. It's not pretty though, i agree with that.
I understood the whole point of the 12.1 bevel was to tie the new surface covering the hole into the existing surface. Doing it on both sides ensured you had a structurally sound finish.
Yes, on the inside I built up 4 layers of glass over it, I just didn't carry the bevel through. Doing it this way disrupted less of the original hull, most boats where you are feathering from both sides in are much thinner than this hull is. This boat is significantly overbuilt.
Good job b< on the head but not finished. video skills are amateurish. quite hard to watch and too much talking. less to see and little progress. shaky cam.
You'll be ready to use it in time for the hot weather!
Absolutely!
Look forward to seeing how it turns out. Been thinking about doing this on mine.
It is going to feel so good not having to rely on the marina office anymore!

So did I miss something? I want to see end of shower and bathroom. I went to look for another video of finished job but I don't see one??
Great video! Do you have anymore coming out?
Posted one tonight.

There is a lot of research that goes into the 12.1 ratio. Smarter people then you and I have said this so there has to be truth behind it.
What weight glass are you using on the walls? Looks like maybe 8oz?
6oz just enough to water proof it
