Been looking at memberships in this area with a few of my friends. Castlewood, Ruby Hill, Stonebrae and Blackhawk. Got invited to play a round at the Hills course and it was tough and was invited back to play the Valley course which I liked much better. Wish it was in a bit better shape. Lots of brown and dirt patches in the fairway. How does this course hold up on the rain? I just played it today and it was rough.
I think the brown, dirt spots can be chalked up to winter conditions. Summer and Fall the courses were immaculate coming back from the COVID break. It’ll get very soft in the rain but seems to drain pretty quickly if it isn’t a huge rain. I definitely love the two course option. Which you’d get at Blackhawk also. That being said, I believe Castlewood offers a better deal. They’re also working on a big remodel to finish in 2022. Currently it hasn’t affected access to any amenities that are available (COVID notwithstanding). I’d definitely recommend. I love it here.
