Country Clubs are worth it if time and quality of golf is your greatest concern. I love being a member at my club. Just show up, grab your cart, and get in a 2.5-3hr round. Everyone minds their business and everyone understands the little nuances of the game. I switched from a public membership where people were driving on the greens and didn’t know the game of golf. The course conditions were unplayable at times. I pay more money now but it is worth it in my book. The course is always in great shape no matter the season. If one is thinking about the CC route I am warning you, now, you are going to be so spoiled with fast play that public municipal courses are going to feel like an eternity. You are warned lol.

Castlewood Hill was my home course for high school golf! Many great memories, including my buddy getting benched when he changed clothes in the parking lot!😂😂

That is a beautiful course. Don't have a comment for country clubs. i have read some of the other comments in here and some of them make sense. I think I need to experience a country club to really have an opinion on them. Another great video Matt. Love to see them.

You know if I join one G I'm having you on as a guest 100 percent! Until then we can settle for muni 🤣

I’ve only experienced a country club once for a member guess tournament. Pace of play, play whenever you want (from my experience), play as much as you want, awesome practice facilities, awesome instruction and club fittings, contacts and personalized experience with staff. Depends where your a member but the course is usually kept up and the greens are fast and pure! Access to other courses.

Hey nice vid! I know this is a little old, but I just played this course for the first time yesterday. Man those greens were slick, only managed a 95. Can't let your guard down around this course.

My experience is it keeps out the rift raft and slow play. The course is usually is in pristine condition.

Pretty much my experience of the few that I have gotten the pleasure to play! It's crazy how if everyone on the course is on the same page about play etiquette it just flows so much quicker. Thanks for the comment 👍

Love that course, one of the few CC’s that I’ve been lucky enough to play.
To be able to play a sub 3 hour round would be my dream…and that’s exactly where that will stay sadly $$

Yeah I'm more in the "try to get my money's worth" camp and if I lived 5 minutes from a CC I would maybe consider it lol. Other than that it's too much money for me but I do love any CC that I get the opportunity to play!

Hit my longest drive to date, on 18 lol.
    Awesome content

There are definitely some holes out there that allow for some bombs to be hit! Thanks for watching 🤙

Country clubs are worth it if your finances allow for it. Any opportunity I get to play Castlewood with a member I jump on it! Got a buddy that works at Stonebrae and have been lucky enough to be invited out there as well. Biggest difference for me are the course conditions, and the staff. A whole world of difference between your local muni vs a cc. You also cannot beat the fact that it’s way less crowded and pace of play is usually pretty spot on

I’d consider a CC if I didn’t live in the great white north 🥶 and could golf year round. My season usually starts in April and end in October 😢.

Someone else mentioned this and for me as a ignorant west coast golfer I didn't even consider that some CCs you pay for you don't even get to use year round! Which in this case yeah I would definitely see why you would not want to pay for a CC for a limited season.

@@GolfParfection there aren’t too many CCs in my area, so people naturally migrate to public courses and buy memberships there. The public courses allow members to book 2 weeks in advance and everyone else can book the leftovers at 7 days out.

“Ignore this 4 putt, what do y’all think of Country clubs”
Country clubs make sense when time is more valuable than moneys

There a lot of “the club at …” are they part of a package like the bay clubs are?

Honestly I have no idea haha. County clubs are out of my wheel house these days I don't have much info on them other than I can't afford them.

i like golf for the people i play with not really the course. so cc arent worth it to me if my homies cant come along or arent members. but in california it might be necessary, mofos botting and backdooring tee times .

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  Год назад

Great point here! There are usually limitations on member guest allowances so you may be leaving the homies behind for some rounds if you're at a CC 😂.

@@GolfParfection yeah i reached my max visits at all my buddies ccs. gonna need a fake id hahah. another reason i didnt do a cc where im at is winter. you could be snowed out the course for long periods and i play all year no matter the temp, so that would piss me off. some clubs straight up close down.
