Both are amazing, but I always say this as a Morissette fan, Morissette’s advantage is her mid belt, her vibrato is ringing, she has a very versatile tone, she can change her tone depends on the type of song she’s singing, she can make it light, dark or bright. The squeak and whistle are just icing on top. ❤️
I personally am not a fan of the squeaks but everything else is pretty much how I want it to be :D

There is no point in sustaining a note that sounds shrill and unpleasant. Morissette sounds most pleasant and sustains her clearest notes in the most beautiful tone.

They're both good but i prefer Morissette's voice because of its quality. Her voice is fully rounded, thick and resonated, her tone sounds more feminine and pleasing despite of its smokiness and raspiness, and her artistic choice is top-tier.
On the other hand, Katrina is a technically good singer but I'm not a fan of singers with thin and screechy vocals

Hayst i really hate this comparison shit coz I have to defend my idol kat from these bashers who are saying that "kat's tone is not that good etc etc." Like the heck? Atleast her singing techniques are healthy, have you seen her getting hoarse?
Well, no one attacked her yet so idk who are you defending her here from :D But, I fully understand you. I have not heard her hoarse but I do feel like she strains a bit much when she tries to squeeze in certain high notes. But I am liking her more and more with each reaction. Especially from the few recent ones where her tone was just spotless. I like that sense of maturity that she possesses now days.

Gurl you must be new viewer? From the get-go this channel is bias to Mori and thats not a shocker, he really dont like Katrina if you watched his old videos, he simply do not like katrina and her style of singing.
This was pre-pandemic Katrina. Post-pandemic Katrina is fuller-sounding and less shrill. At any rate, to my knowledge she has never dodged or cracked a high note, nor has she ever been hoarse, despite the increasing frequency and regularity of her gigs. Yet a few still claim that her technique is strenuous and unhealthy, regardless of overwhelming evidence of the opposite. It seems this is to lend an air of objective authority and technicality to their subjective dislike of her tonal choices.
Side note: IMHO, among the "new vocal trinity," Jona is the strongest in terms of tonal balance and consistency, registration, and upper-range access. Katrina, however, is rapidly improving in the same respects. Morissette has arguably the most distinct tone and highest control over vocal textures, but also has the least durable and reliable technique. This is not to say she is technically weak: I'm speaking only in terms relative to Jona and Katrina.
Your assessment might be fully right. My liking towards Morissette stems from her tone and open sound that she produces, on top of diction and emotions that she portrays. It's, to me, reminiscent of the 90's divas. I have been notified that Morissette is taking a step back on hard vocals so that she could have long-lasting voice, which is good to hear. I do find Jona the most durable, just from these clips alone.

I prefer Katrina 🔥 . If you give them 30 hard songs to sing for sure Katrina wins . 😂😅 Very technical, breath support and wiser in using her voice techniques.
I've heard Morisette live but i am not impressed..I prefer Aicelle Santos because i love big thick voices...Tone and whistle i prefer Mori but agility, runs and riffs, technicality, lung power, impersonations i go to Katrina...But again, if cleanliness in notes and tone, Mariane Osabel, for Swag and sultriness and sassy its for Rita Daniela, For overall performer i go to Sarah Geronimo and Julie Anne San Jose..big voice with beauty Thea Astley, For operatic Jonalyn Viray....
For a soprano, Morissette has a lot of tonal girth and depth. Her fullness of tone is one of her best vocal qualities. But I do love Aicelle! Her style is an unusual blend of soul, rock, theatrical finesse, and an in-your-face, no-holds-barred sort of vocal gutsiness.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Technically, Miss Amon is at least two levels higher. Diction, enunciation, management of the breath in a correct way and not Her belts are always open and resonant, Kat's are not, always sounds round, resonant with a vibrato never the same😊
For this and more, stage presence, smile, makes singing seem easy for her, Miss Amon has millions and millions of fans all over the world. And Katrina to 4 cats even in her own country.🙄

Resonance is the bright, forward, cutting edge of the voice. Katrina consistently has heaps of it. Those who seriously claim the opposite simply do not understand resonance or Katrina's voice at all.
Morissette has excellent mid belts but, contrary to popular opinion, does not always have a round, secure belt above F5 as she occasionally splats her vowels in that region, limiting ease of access to higher belting.
Katrina, on the other hand, has a reliable approach to high belting, notwithstanding (outdated) complaints by some listeners against her overreliance on twang.
While Morissette's approach to upper belting remains inconsistent, Katrina's tonal management is steadily improving. Her voice has markedly gained depth and maturity after the pandemic. Even this reactor (Fashion Blank), who isn't a fan of Katrina's tone, acknowledges this.
Ease and breath management definitely go to Katrina. Proof of this, aside from her monstrously long phrases and sustained notes, is her facility for pianissimi and messa di voce. Morissette is in an entire league below her in terms of sheer breath control.
Above all, Katrina never cracks, is never hoarse, and never runs out of energy no matter the occasion. The same simply cannot be said of Morissette. As before, Morissette is in a whole league below Katrina in terms of durability and consistency.
