    I deep condition once a week. By 3 months my hair is shiny bouncy light and literally every leave in and moisture milk or creams work. Definitely truth to what u say. Respect your hair

    I can't even lie that first tip is sooooo true, I use to deep condition on damp hair and now i do it on wet hair and even with damp hair there is a major difference compared to wet hair. It works so much better and my hair is literal silk soft!!! coarse hair is not rough, coarse hair = thick strands, Sis hair that isn't smooth is not called coarse * laughs* alot of naturals make this mistake. But YOU GAVE REALLY GREAT TIPS! I love deep conditioning too! I can also definitely tell the difference between deep contioning with conditioner now i use an actual deep conditioner BIG DIFFERENCE!!! *laughs*

      Thanks so much !! I love deep conditioning too lol deep conditioner is my favorite natural hair product to buy cause I think it makes the biggest impact

      Afrikana.Like.Linda hey what would you say is the difference between deep conditioner and conditioner because a lot of natural hair products advertise as deep conditioners but they're not really getting deep in there you feel me but really a thicker version of conditioner you feel me

    • @LinzeyLiNO
      @LinzeyLiNO 6 лет назад

      Anita Sirens i definitely feel you. Usually you know it's a good deep conditioner with how your hair feels after. You should be looking for alot of moisture, softness shine and your hair should start to feel smoother and ALOT easier to take of. But i make my own conditioner because the only deep conditioner i liked that did all that was the TGIN raw honey deep conditioner. That is the only one i loved i loved everything but the price, so i decided to make my own and it does everything TGIN did and more. I wasn't a product junkie but from the ones i did try TGIN deep conditioner is a fav! I know one conditoner that works really well as a deep condioner because i Still use it on my sisters and her hair loves it but it is a conditioner from LIdl😄 and it may be because of the formula but that is the only one i would say works like a deep conditoner. Usually conditioner coat or sit on top of your hair. while deep conditioner noticeable seep into and disappear into the hair which both my conditioner and TGIN does. Thats one thing i notice. and my hair is super soft like silk at the end

    • @anitasirens6624
      @anitasirens6624 6 лет назад +1

      Afrikana.Like.Linda aww thank you and I'm scared to try TGIN because it has aloe Vera in the ingredients and my hair does not like aloe Vera. But I have heard a lot of Naturals rave about that deep conditioner

    I've recently stopped detangling my hair before deep conditioning and it's cut my detangling time by several HOURS! The slip deep conditioning gives each single strand makes its easier for knots to untangle and my strands to slip and slide and pull gently away from each other. I have kinky dry 4c hair and detangling has always been a full weekend affair for me until I began to detangle on deep conditioned hair. 🤷

    Great video!! You're like one of the most well-informed, intelligent, clever and smart natural on YT! Hands down!! Other RUclipsrs give the same ol' baby tips that are common sense that everyone knows over and over again. You sound really knowledgeable of what you're talking about and it's really refreshing & you're really refreshing to watch.
    e.g. It makes alot of sense that ensuring your hair is really damp with water will give you more moisturized hair for longer as the cream & oil will seal in the water that's on your hair. If there's lots of water on your ahir, the cream & oil will seal in all that water(moisture) and your hair will be well moisturized. However, if your hair is slightly damp the cream & oil will seal in that small amount of water leaving your hair partially moisturized for a short period of time.
    I've implemented this "theory" into my regimen and it works. Thanks for making videos that give us lots of knowledge in how to take care of my natural and others' natural hair. My hair now retains more moisture during the week and doesn't get tangled at the faster rate that it used to because I started using heat for at least 20 minutes and even did overnight deep conditioning treatments which I still do pretty frequently. I got the inspiration to start doing this from watching your video on how deep conditioning changed your hair.
    Keep uploading great content and you will go very far.
    I also love your "15 Myths About Natural Hair" video where we got to see some of your engineering knowledge mixed with natural. You're one of my favourite natural hair youtubers. You're doing an awesome job.

    Love the tips! When I deep condition, I tend to stick with damp hair. Only because when my hair is wet it doesn't absord the nutrients of the deep conditioner, it just soaks up the water and the deep conditioner just sits on top of my hair making it feel very dry.

    You can deep condition without a plastic cap BUT. You have to sit in a steam room or sauna. Or turn the shower on hot in your bathroom to steam it up. It worked for my curls. That steam in the sauna opened my cuticles and my hair drank that conditioner up like a fish

    🙌🏾 i agree with everything except the protein. My hair loves protein so i use a protein conditioner once a month. I have high porosity hair after a month of styling and products my hair gets weaker. Protein adds my bounce back. It’s changed my hair for the better😀

    • @tinamcclain4525

      Rae I have low porosity my hair does well with protein..

  • @PUNKGIRLrock24
    @PUNKGIRLrock24 6 лет назад +11

    I agree except I need protein once in awhile. My hair strands are really fine so after a while they start to get weak and weigh down so every other week I use a light protein deep conditioner. You can use regular conditioner (at least i used to) but you have to add oils/honey/avacados to kick up a notch so just buy a deep conditioner because if don't have those on hand your wasting money.

    Wow. I thought my hair was doing well until i saw this and your other deep consitioning video. My hair dries out completely 3 days after I wash it. It shrinks like crazy. I have to use a curl cream starting on day 3 just to get to wash day. My hair retangles on day 3. It starts frizzing at the end of day 1. And it never hangs when dry. I got to get a hooded dryer.

  • @afiyaclarke7360

    I don't deep condition my hair. And if I do, I deep condition with a normal conditioner (rinse out conditioner) and I don't have problems with retaining moisture at all. I just don't see the need to deep condition my hair when I get the same results with just rinsing out my hair with a good conditioner and moisturizing my hair. I get moisture retained for DAYZZZ. And btw I have 4c hair, the most coarse and the most dry.

    Good video...I have to disagree with #2 though. My natural hair is prone to tangles/matting more than the average gal. As a result I have learned I need to pre-poo with a conditioner before I even shampoo. I let the conditioner set for a minimum of 1hr, then finger detangle, shampoo and then condition after that. It sucks, but it is a necessary evil. Otherwise my hair will be a tangled mess. This seems to work well for me and has helped retain my length. 😉

    I think the reason why there are tangles from shampooing is because that shampoo low quality ingredients. when I was using wen I noticed the ingredients worked with my hair "despite my hair type". so when I use quality shampoos my hair does not tangle whether " I section or not section"

    I deep condition with a rinse-out but I use a good quality one with heat. I think it works find for moisture but you would a deep conditioner for a protein treatment due to hydrolyzed proteins.

    What's your take on deep conditioning before shampooing???

  • @kramosthekid476
    @kramosthekid476 3 года назад

    What you should do is use lukewarm water to open your hair follicles and add the deep conditioner and twist it in then get a shower cap, then wrap your head in a warm wet towel and if you have high porosity hair you can use protein masques about once a week

    For my high porosity hair protein is great .. Once per month. When using protein deep conditioner, you have to make sure your styling products don’t have it in them. That way you won’t screw yourself up.

    My question is, do you apply deep conditioner to your scalp? Because my friend said "If you have dry, damaged hair, apply deep condition to your scalp and hair when you're deep conditioning. But if you have healthy hair, don't deep condition your scalp, just your hair because it will strip it from it's natural oils. I was wondering if you knew the answer to this.

    Number three is SO TRUE. I about killed my hair with those Deva Curl products. Every.single.one. has protein in it. It only took about 2 or 3 weeks before my hair was wrecked. Hard, crunchy brittle mess.

    Hello, could you tell me the difference between deep cond. with a plastic cap vs. deep conditioning under a hooded dryer? I've heard the dryer gives better results for low porosity hair. I did not like the steamer b/c it did not get the back of my hair and it seemed to focus on the crown of my head........thank you for the video! Great tips.

    Hi ! i 've never deep condition with heat....like i put a plastic cab on my head and i wrap it under a winter hat to let my natural head heat do the job..but .I,'ve never question if i was doing it wong until i cowashed my hair during 1 month...i realise my hair was thirsty and the mask wasn't helping...may be because the heat is not strong in of?anyway i bought an hooded dryer (hotNGold....) to level up the game XD.
    Seeing your video has giving me hope . I really hope my hair will absorb moisture because of the heat .

    • @KaylynIvy
      @KaylynIvy  6 лет назад +3

      Yea sometimes the heat just isn’t strong enough . You gotta keep in mind a dryer is going to be significantly more powerful than body heat. but I think your hooded dryer will get you right ! :)
