    Just remember...when flying inverted, "down" is up...and "up" is expensive !!! Cool mods...Thanks

    You should cut some fuel hose into small bits and put them over the ends of the axle . It will stop the lock nuts from falling off,

      Ron Didden never had any problems with that but thank you for the advice

    well I bought my first plane today and dam its big. I have the float kit also for the apprentice, that might be the only way I can learn to fly is with floats and that sucks. I spent lots of time on the trainer and fly quads. I love planes. great video. think I will start with bigger tires.

      Thanks for watching and subscribing! I absolutely love this plane. Super easy to learn to fly with this bird with options for advanced flying. It's one that can be in your arsenal for many many years. Could use a more powerful motor but she's still a great plane for the $ and easy to work on/fix if ever needed. Happy flying!

    i saw somewhere that poking a hole in the end of the wings was good for led visability, so you can see them not only for the bottom, but the top as well when your banking hard turns. Just a tip

    No clue. Lol. The light kit is made for airplanes though. So I would assume that everything is compatible and no harm will come to the plane. If not I hope I get it on video for all to see. haha

    Where can I get these wheels?

    • @azule420
      @azule420  4 года назад

      I stumbled across them on EBay years ago. I have no clue the brand of either the rims or ties as there are no markings anywhere on them. Sorry I couldn't help. Best of luck finding some

    Hey Im using Dubro wheels for another project and i was just wondering what the wheel threads were made of. Is it solid, grippy rubber or foam? Thanks

    • @azule420
      @azule420  6 лет назад

      Anurag B sorry for the late reply. They are foam. Thanks for watching

    Cool idea, so can you turn the lights on and off while in flight?

    • @azule420
      @azule420  7 лет назад +1

      TRACKACARDIA no I can't but there is a switch thing you can buy to hook up in series to do just that. kinda spendy but if you really want to I guess. I just have it hooked into an open Port so if I don't want them on I just unplug before flight. thanks for watching

    • @TRACKACARDIA

      If you know what or where to find that "switch thing" let me know, Id like to check it out. I am new to this and this video has been a big help, thanks.

    • @azule420

      TRACKACARDIA this is one option...RC light control switch
      Look at this on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/222278959967
      or if you're handy there are ways to take an old servo apart and write that in to turn the lights on and off

    What light kit do you have, where can I get it?

    • @azule420
      @azule420  9 лет назад

      I got this kit off ebay. It's a 8 led light kit for planes. It was around $10. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the info. I'm a beginner trying to teach myself to fly the Apprentice, I must say a hot glue gun is now my best tool in the box. lol. Couple quick questions; do the thin wheels cut through the grass better than a fat wheel? And, was the light system made for the Apprentice or just a universal kit?

    • @azule420
      @azule420  8 лет назад

      thanks for watching... the weeks do cut through better. the light kit was a universal kit. had to make extensions for the wings.... only a few inches is all though. hope I answered well enough. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

      +azule420RC Thanks a lot for the info. Yeah, if there is anything I have plenty of it would be questions. lol. I wonder how hard it would be to put Timber wheels on the Apprentice? Seems like the Z-bend in the front strut would pose the only problem.

    • @azule420
      @azule420  8 лет назад

      +xTonyHenryx the wheels may need drilled. not sure though. the drubro wheels I got had to be drilled to fit. as for the bend.. it is a problem by cheaper to fix that than something else more important. gotta give somewhere

    Pretty nice! I used to have those wheels on my Apprentice, but switched back to the originals because since those are so thin, they will bent your front landing gear really bad if you happens to land a bit hard. I also used to have those lights too, they look so nice on the plane, but I messed then up in a crash. I did all those mods when I was still learning to fly. You are right, this is the best trainer plane in the market so far.
    Mine isn't a trainer anymore, but a long range FPV aircraft. I'm using Dragonlink on my Apprentice now. Little by little, I'm transforming this trainer into a long range fpv platform. Feel free to visit my channel and check out my latest fpv flights with my Apprentice S. I just subscribed to your channel to follow your progress. Greetings from Douglas, Arizona. Have a great evening.

      thank you for subscribing! much appreciated! also thank you for the comment. i enjoy people's thoughts and opinions as well as tips and tricks. I'm a newbie still in airplanes but looking forward to fpv as I have a gopro and another fpv capable keychain camera I use in my videos. I've heard Dragon link is a good product as well. have you done any motor upgrades? I will check out your channel soon.

    Nice light mod but with me being so anal of things I would cover those ugly wires with some white packing tape. Of course at night no problem but during the day, ugly

    • @azule420
      @azule420  8 лет назад

      I hear you on the wires. I install stereos too and I hate seeing wires. I just used what I had lying around. thanks for watching and commenting

      Mark Gianotto I used magnet wire,much thinner and works great. you can use an exacto to make the channels,no big fat wires to show. you can paint the wire with a paint pen if you want. No extra weight like those twisted wires it came with. I also added led strips so it really lights up brightly. I ran some RGB leds in two strips on eather side od the body,with a push of a button,I can change between three different colored lights while flying using the transmitter. Its great for night flying no doubt.
