18-Year-Old Son Steals Mom's 21-Year-Old Boyfriend's Car Then Crashes In High Speed Chase

Report:
On 12/15/2021,
at approximately 0210 hours an officer was patrolling the area when he observed a black Mazda CX-7 veer into the lane of oncoming traffic nearly causing a head on collision.
Officers nearby initiated a traffic stop on that vehicle. The driver of that vehicle accelerated away from officers, vacillating between the center turn lane and the lane of opposing traffic.
The shift supervisor gave the order to discontinue the attempt to stop the vehicle. Officers deactivated their lights and sirens.
Moments later there was a dispatch for a single vehicle accident. Officers responded to that dispatch and found the vehicle officers had earlier tried to stop. The caller was waiting with the driver.
Officers asked the suspect what happened and he answered he had been texting and driving when he struck something, he was not sure what, as he made the turn. Officers on scene asked him why he did not pull over when the police tried to stop him and he said that he did not notice the lights because he was playing with the radio.
Officers next asked the suspect who the car belonged to. He said it was his mother's, but that his mother's boyfriend had regular use of it. He said that he had asked his mother's boyfriend if he could borrow it and he had said "yea," but he qualified this by saying the boyfriend was asleep at the time and may not remember having said so.
Officers asked the suspect where he was going and he said he had planned to go to the store, but the gas station was closed. He said he was going to check another gas station when he got a text from someone and so he went down the road and was going to go down the road and make a big loop to head back to home.
Officers on scene spoke with the suspect and asked him how he came to have the car and he answered that he had asked his mother's boyfriend if he could borrow it, he had grunted, and so he took the car.
In light of his changing answer and the tenuous nature of his initial response, his reaction to police trying to stop him, and his disregard for the vehicle, officers followed up with the vehicle owner and the suspects Mother the nearby.
Officers made contact with his mother at. She was surprised and frustrated to learn that the suspect had taken the vehicle, saying that he doesn't have a license and doesn't drive.
The boyfriend agreed the suspect did not have permission to take the car.

Speaking as a trauma nurse, the female officer did something extremely dangerous! She wasn't sure if whether or not the airbags had deployed, or if the vehicle even had any airbags. That is a newer type of vehicle, which means it most likely had defective airbags or the airbags failed to deploy. In that situation, it is very dangerous to stick your head in a vehicle, in the path of the airbag. In that situation, always assume the airbags will deploy at any time. We had a paramedic who responded to the scene of an accident. His mind was on getting to and treating the patient trapped inside the vehicle. The airbags of that vehicle hadn't deployed either. Without thinking, the paramedic stuck his head inside the vehicle, right in front of the steering wheel. A few moments after he stuck his head in the vehicle to check on the patient, the airbag deployed with tremendous force, so much so that it broke the paramedic's neck and instantly killed him. I will never forget that night!

I read several of the comments on here to see than most people concern is the age difference between the mom and her boyfriend it being a 9 years difference. Most of these people that mostly concern with the age issue are probably those that had no problem voting for a man to lead our country with an age difference of 28 years between he and his wife, but no concern there right. NOW THATS DISGUSTING! My concern is the inability of the mother to parent her children without knowing there where about. This 18 year old young man didn’t start running the streets at 18 he’s probably been doing it since he was 12 or maybe even younger. Parents need to take more time parenting their children in their younger years so when they come of age , they can make better decisions.
