- Skip Morris's Skip Nymph is an innovative combination of two excellent patterns a Pheasant Tail and a Hare's Ear Nymph. Both excellent stillwater patterns in their own right. The Skip Nymph is one of my favourite Callibaetis nymph imitations. I consider a must have for any stillwater fly box. The Skip Nymph is also an excellent moving water pattern too.

Hi Phil. First great video. I'm new to fly tying. Did you say you used a size 14? I was thinking of a size 16. I live in California, and there are many trout lakes. Would this skip work out here ? Thank you.
it will work well. good fly.
Hi, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed my video.
You could certainly tie this fly in a variety of colours to match a variety of sizes and mayfly species. Size 14 is the size I use most often.
Cheers, Phil.
I know what I will be tying through the winter evenings here in Scotland now, thanks Phil
Happy tying Stuart. It is a great stillwater and moving water fly for that matter.
Cheers, Phil
👍
Seems to me that works with some light grey dubbing too, been 20+ yrs since I tied any of those.
Thanks for taking the time to post your comment.
You certainly tie this pattern in other colours such as grey and olive.
Cheers, Phil.
One of my favorites.
Merry 🎉 Christmas 🎄 Phil !!!
