Score: 8 Ohh come on Craig! It wasn't perfect but a 6 was too low! It had aggression, passion, lines and the choreography was absolutely amazing. What a performance! That is probably one of the most intense pasos I have ever seen on the show. However I do agree with Craig that it was too square and blocky at times. And it lacked precise Spanish lines. Needed a bit more precision overall but OH MY GOD! Even though technique isn't perfect that performance was AMAZING!!

I have just replied to another of your comments agreeing with everything you said but I disagree with you somewhat here - except for your praise of the performance and that a 6 was too low. I don't think it's just that the technique wasn't perfect, it wasn't there most of the time - at least if we are judging this as a paso doble and not just a performance. This is just my personal opinion but I think Dianne realised that Tyler wasn't going to pull off 'pure paso' and went for 'performance paso' instead - which is probably a wise decision in terms of playing to her partner's strengths but maybe not so in terms of pleasing the Craigeographer himself. She wasn't exactly surprised by Craig's remarks, or the 6 for that matter, so I think she knew this. Did I enjoy this? Absolutely! But, as Strictly is not yet at the stage of DWTS, where many of the ballroom rules seems to have been relaxed to enhance performance (e.g. lifts in dances where they aren't allowed on Strictly), my assessment would be that this was only a paso doble in respect of a few signature moves and body shapes that, for me, weren't always well executed. Even Dianne's part of the routine was lacking paso content and I really don't like being so negative because her choreography is normally so brilliant.
Just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water, Craig gives Tyler & Dianne a 6... he is a miserable so & so... He is hugely unfair, he is NOT marking their dancing, he is basing his score on his personal taste, which is wrong, he is supposed to be a professional and judge their dance skills & performance, nothing to do with 'being to his liking'.
I couldn't watch this without seeing Faye and Giovannis paso to the same song, with the same firey backdrop. I loved that dance so much that I couldn't watch this properly! 😭 with a different song I might've enjoyed it more!
Yess!! I could literally see some of Faye and Giovanni's choreography during Tyler and Dianne's performance. Faye and Gio's has just a memory print in my mind, especially as theirs was in Blackpool, which means they would (and did) have a bigger production. I literally heard Faye's scream at the end of the performance.

thats how I felt about Fleur & Vito's Samba to Hot Hot Hot because of Mark & Karen's iconic Salsa. Also Ashley Robert's samba. Then Fleur got 10s and Motsi had tears. I had to go watch it back to see why. It was amazing

I feel like this was sensory overload. The intensity/madness of the music, Diane doing a million spins and him just standing about, and the fire was too much I think.
I liked it 🙃 a strong paso from a male who has never done a paso before! It wasn't his best, i think the dancing got a bit lost in the wanting to hit certain 'banana' stances in line with the powerful music. I think he's doing the steps well and in the right place and time, but before dance and music was oozing through his bones and we've lost that a little bit last week and this week. But it was a good effort! And it was full of attack for me. I love dianne and tyler, i love their partnership. I hope he comes back next week, and breathes dance like he did before. 🙃 8

While the agression and passion was there, I did see a small amount of Spanish lines and the execution need a bit more polishing as it looked rushed in some places. I would say that the shaping was pretty good and the drama that they potrayed was excellence, not the best but not the worst. Good attempt!

No offense to him and Diane, but I preferred Faye and Giovanni's number. Having said that, they absolutely deserve to go to Blackpool!
This was good but Tyler needs more consistency. He's either the best of the night or extremely middling. It was impressive but lacked fire (pun intended) for me. It was a hard dance though - Dianne is doing some (amazing) tough choreography. Maybe she needs to pull it back a little to focus on tidying things up more. Almost the opposite of Amy who has a tendency to be too safe at times!
I'm so sorry for Tyler as this could have been something so special. I'm a massive fan of the Paso so I get very picky when it comes to them being good and unfortunately it felt extremely stompy and wooden at times and I think the fault of it is down to his shaping. In a weird way he gets that there must be shaping in Paso and that is great but it seemed the shapes he was making was VERY robotic and what he needs to do is breathe into those shapes and show the contortion of the body instead of just saying "here's a shape" so more breath into his body needs to be shown and I actually think his footwork was pretty stompy. That being said he really understood the character of the dance and I did feel he was giving a very macho performance as the lead male. So not bad but could have been better. 7
Eh, not as good as I thought. He was a but stumbly. I guess a few issues come from Tyler being a bit tall for Dianne. The judges were fair and correct in their comments, especially Motsi imo. But I still think it was a good dance with all the attack I love in a Paso.
Tyler West and Dianne Buswell Next. Tyler is an amazing chap and Dianne as we all know is a Star however I feel like Tyler is going backwards in this competition. This Paso Doble reminded me of the hunger games make of that what you will. I don't know what Dianne is doing wrong in teaching Tyler but Tyler's back frame and posture structure was all wrong he was told to have the shape of a banana the curve of one and yet no just up and done like a plank plus it did not feel for me Tyler was dancing the Paso Doble it was more like walking the Paso Doble and the loud music and bright lights was distractions to show that this dance was not not Tyler's dance thats how I feel about it.
it should be tony and katya.it is not fair how arsenal fans dont actually watch the show,instead just voting for him.suturday night they got below 30.so they should atleast be in the bottom 2.

7 Latin has always been Tyler’s strength, but this was his weakest Latin dance in my opinion. It was too square, some of his Spanish lines were a bit non-existent. BUT, it was powerful, it was intense, and there were some other good moments. It’s a real shame because Tyler is literally crumbling in this second half of the competition. WE NEED TO SEE THE “REAL DEAL TYLER” AGAIN!
Score - *7* Lovely intro and great twist turns but I'm afraid I wasn't a big fan of this dance, it lacked proper flamenco and fluidity in the power, he got strong confused with stiff. It was quite square and it lacked originality for me. I was really excited for this routine and it just fell abit flat. I know how good Tyler could be and we seen it in his couple's choice and Charleston but I have found his past two dances hard to connect with. It just needed a cape or a floorspin to give it some oomph it was all a little bit anti climatic. I think Tyler still has loads of talent and I hope he gets his mojo back for Blackpool. I thought Craig's 6 was harsh but Anton's 9 was over marking. It looked great in training but didn't quite happen tonight. Shame 😖

I felt this myself. For me I was so disappointed by it as paso is my number one dance on strictly so I think honestly he needed more accuracy with it. If this was a dance in week 1 I'd be ok with it but he cannot just be doing that.

Disappointing. Seemed like a lot of walking and posing. I think it’s harder when it’s to non traditional music.
Craig was more than right. Dead arms, no shaping in upper body at all. Showing ABS doesn't mean dance will be good.
