whenever i listen i remember bjorn ironside raising his sword after taking arrows, and marching with his army even close to death, thank you for such a wonderful series!
He died a good death. Fighting. Many people will complain that his death was unsatisfying as he had many unsolved issues at hand. The fact that his death came so quickly makes it more tragic and, for me at least, far more emotional than a good guy victory.
The show made his death make sense and I do believe that the second half of season 4, leading up to his death (when returns to Kattegat, sails to England with Ivar, talks with Ecbert, etc, his convo with the Seer, etc.) is probably the absolute peak of the shows quality and probably the best written and acted selection of episodes in the genre
"Farewell my Brother. It gladdens me to know that Odin makes ready the benches for a feast. Soon you will be drinking ale from curved horns. The Valkyries summon you home."

Ivar; "It is impossible."
Cooper; "No, it is necessary."
Jokes aside, damn. Chills every time I listen to this.
whenever i listen i remember bjorn ironside raising his sword after taking arrows, and marching with his army even close to death, thank you for such a wonderful series!
I have no words, the last 3 minutes of this song hit me deep
This is like honey for my ears and soul. ! Hail Odinn !
Hail Odin, Skål!
Skål! May Ođinn summon us home.
Preferably not too soon, though. He has a bit of a habit of claiming warriors to become Einherjar before their due time.
Hail Odinn! Skal, Brother!
Skal!!
This makes me cry like the first time that i heard it, Hail King Ragnar 😓
Bjorn... Franchement une des scènes les plus dur et belle de cette épisode 11 ❤️ et même de la série largement !
My soul is north. Thank you for hearing these beautiful music. Thats how emotions come from my life, with music.
He died a good death. Fighting.
Many people will complain that his death was unsatisfying as he had many unsolved issues at hand. The fact that his death came so quickly makes it more tragic and, for me at least, far more emotional than a good guy victory.
who are you talking about?
The show made his death make sense and I do believe that the second half of season 4, leading up to his death (when returns to Kattegat, sails to England with Ivar, talks with Ecbert, etc, his convo with the Seer, etc.) is probably the absolute peak of the shows quality and probably the best written and acted selection of episodes in the genre
@@sm1ther549 Finallly someone who understands good storytelling. Not like those idiots that wanted Ragnar to stay alive only because he was badass
"Farewell my Brother. It gladdens me to know that Odin makes ready the benches for a feast. Soon you will be drinking ale from curved horns. The Valkyries summon you home."
I know this song originally had nothing to do with the show Vikings. But..I love how the song about Ragnar's death literally plays during Ragnar, Björn and Ivar's deaths. Wow. Absolutely poetic and beautiful.
This is a poem about Ragnar when was thrown into a pit of snakes... You do know Ragnar lothbrok, Bjorn, Ivar and ubbe are all real right?
@@HyuchaKyrie Yeah, I know they're all real. I was only just saying how when this song by Einar was written, he didn't write it for the purpose of it being put in the show, and yet it was put in the show for his death and his son's deaths.
According to Einar when I seen him play this song live, this was a poem Ragnar himself wrote on his way to execution.
Hail King Ragnar!

Has there been a better song than this written or performed?? I personally think not. I don't know a word but feel and I really mean FEEL the spirit of Vikings and Ragnar. We have Vikings and of course Einar for that. Truly the greatest piece of music I have ever heard and will ever hear and feel. The true definition of masterpiece!!
I'm from Norway, long line of Earls and land owners and I listen to this and it's like something lights my blood on fire, like something wants to get out!? I can't explain the feeling?
Your ancestors was Vikings
this is probably the most fitting song for bjorn's death scene, nothing would fit better than this.
“I told you Ivar. You can’t kill him”
But his not a god
@@ziedalomean9806Neither are You
This our moment folks. Never feel so small, have courage! as your Ancestors before you, Danish or not!
I remember listening to this after I completed my 100th platelet donation. I rode my bike to prospect park, set up a hammock, closed my eyes, and just let the song flow in my mind. Super impactful.
1:15 - Masterpiece.
Hearing this poem
In this form
In the original language
In my favourite scene ever to be put on the small screen
Was beyond what I ever could have thought to ask.
But it was glorious, brothers.
All hail king Björn Járnsíða. The bear was greated with a horn bigger than Hárs, in his own hall.

the best part!
I wished they would have put it down upon death ivar

Listening to this makes me feel i was born 12 centuries way too late...All hail our northern forefathers who changed the course of this world!
Martin Melnik this is the call of our ancestors
Lmfaoo ok chill out now. As a Swede I can reassure you that the horse where playing with their dick up until 1200
You do not get any better than this, this song awakens the will inside me like nothing I have ever heard before...
The very music gives off the feeling of something dying, but desperately trying to stay alive, even though it’s hopeless.
This song is the melody of death, when you hear it you know someone is going to drink ale from curved horns

admiring the moon in october and listening to this part (5:40) is just beautiful
The Vikings was a briliant show, no other show could never be as great as this. Wardruna made it even better with this awsome music, well done Einar Selvik you are a genius.
Honestly I love this show as a whole more than GoT

“It gladdens me that Wodên has prepared a feast.
Soon I shall be drinking wine and ale from curved horns!
This hero that enters Valhöll, does not lament his death!
I will not enter Wodên’s hall with fear!
There I shall wait for my sons to join me…and when they do…I will bask in their tales of triumph…
The Aesir will welcome me! My death comes without apology! And I welcome the Valkyria’s to summon me home!”
Catching up on the series, just got to this last night. Beaten, burned, bloody, unarmed, manacled, caged, hung 20 feet in the air, and they still feared him enough to set a guard of 40 spears. A bad way to die, but still a good death. Hail Ragnar.
Bjørns death
I love vikings its my fav, thank you to wardruna for the epic music and for also adding music to ac valhalla, i feel happy hearing their music in both
Just amazing! The most influencing norse musician that had ever existed!!

I love this show more than i can explain, im glad i got to live in this time, even if it does suck sometimes. We have stuff like this and each other ya know.
"For even in death Bjorn Ironside was victorious, and for that reason none shall forget his name..."
Everytime i hear this song it saddens me , a tear appears on my cheek . hail king Ragnar ❤ hail queen lagertha ❤ love all the songs you make wardruna , y'all make me wanna fight on ..

This is the most beautiful song ever.
Respekt from Albania! **GREETINGS FROM MONS BERTISCUS**
Another Albanian! What a surprise!
What most don't know though this is the actual poem Ragnar spoke to his son's whilst in the snake pit, right before he died.
HE did it again. Thank you Einar.
Wardruna are one of the best band ever. I can't even say what I feel when I listen to this song
Heard this live 2 days ago. Eyes couldn't stop staring at the band and the sky
Hail Ragnar!
*O K*
Hail? Vad betyder det?
this is the translation i found:
I did not look to a snake
to be my bane
things happen very often to one
that one thinks of the least.
Soon now will my body
die among the beasts.
The young pigs would squeal
if they knew the state of the boar
of the injury done to me
Snakes dig in my flesh
stab at me harshly
and have sucked on me
soon now will my body
die among the beasts
Thanks for the translation
It made me think about how men feel attacked by the gift of consciousness.
Like the snake represents consciousness.. flow.. shakti.. surrendering to her brings blessings (ie consciousness expansion)
No one expects it to be snakes (unless of course, you live in Arizona or Australia).
@@birdsteak9267 The snake is a real being living in a different dimension. They suck human energy from our spines. I saw it leave me when I was initiated into reiki.

Songs that I will never ever forget -
GOT music
Vikings music
Harry Potter Music
Pirates of the Caribbean music
A version of this was sung on Season 6 episode 10 of the Vikings. Absolutely wonderful. 👍
Each and every warduna songs started am geting goosebumps evry tym. It's like the voice instruments are slowly geting inside your body then Heart and mind .
Out of all of the death I don't know why ivars hit me the most seeing him die in his brothers arms broke me 😭
For me it was the nature of it. Unlike most he didnt die proud, heroic. But crying that he was "just a cripple". Something he fought against all his life. Him being afraid not to be accepted in Valhalla due to this only for his brother who thought he was fated to kill him comforting him. Ensuring him he will keep his kegend strong. That he was so great he had nothing to fear.
Yeeeeea😭😭😭😭
IT GLADDENS ME TO KNOW THAT ODIN PREPARES FOR A FEAST. SOON I SHALL BE DRINKING ALE FROM CURVED HORNS.
Ragnar will stay with me forever. Thank you Travis Flimmel
I do believe this may be the best song Einar has done, I've heard this song about 100 times but it never fails to give me goosebumps.
I've gotta say, vikings is THE BEST series I've ever watched in my entire life!
