This man is only here to help the viewer and all I see you guys criticizing. That's disrespectful. A teacher can never talk too much. It's more helpful to you the more he talks instead of just showing you how to do something but he's breaking down why. Not to mention he's at work while he's filming. Show some respect guys.
I know your post was 2 years ago, but I have to say that someone like me wants to know why he uses what he is using and why he uses it. I want to learn the what and the why in the product. Some of us humans do need to have more respect for our fellow human.
This man is a Detailer's Detailer. Years ago I owned a professional Detail shop with 4 dealership clients that sent me the stuff their in-house guys couldn't handle. I also did high-end and performance cars like Rolls, Porches, and Ferraris. This guy is awesome. - you people say 'he talks a lot', - I say he can't talk enough..... learn everything you can from him. He knows his Sh*t.
I don't think you can talk too much, especially when you have a wealth of knowledge to share that's been gained over many years of hands on Detailing.Keep the too much talking videos coming!
I bought a used white 10 year old Lexus from a woman with long fingernails and no amount of scrubbing would fix this. The driver side was totally grey under the handle. Two swipes of the Magic Eraser and some degreaser and POOF, all gone and shining like it was never there. The last thing on my detailing list is now checked off. Thanks for the excellent tip!
For those that can't bear the video because of the talking keep in mind that these videos are to teach beginners not experts or people that want something fun to watch. Keep talking it helps us beginners begin our detailing career.
Cool !!! I'm going to try that on my car too. It has a ton of scratches in that door handle area also. Just bought a new car because my old car is so 'OLD' and banged up ( 300,000 + miles on it ), but as long as it keep going I might as well use it for a 'winter beater' here in salt-slush Southern Ontario Canada and let it rust to pieces instead of my new car.
What grade of Magic Eraser do you recommend for this? Original, Extra Power or Pro??? My assumption is to use the original as it may take more time, but obtain the same results right?
Hello Darren, I have been enjoying all of your useful videos and I have a question. Subsequent to washing a car, should a clay bar be used if a rubbing or polishing compound is being used? I would think that all the contaminants would be removed by the polishing action and the claying would be an unncessary step . Thanks!
great tip that I have lodged in my brain. My question is do you charge for something like this or would you just do this as part of the package? also would you charge for paint transfer removal by itself?
I think you're using the Magic Eraser wrong. I cleaned a 400 square foot tile floor with ME pad, because I kept the pad saturated with water. Using only the weight of the wet ME bad, I wiped it over two tiles about 5 times. Then I wrung out the pad, rewet, and wiped it again. Then I wrung out the pad and rewet. The floor still did not look that great...yet. As I wiped the pad across for the 3rd time, a milky muck appeared on the floor. I wiped up as much of that as the wet pad could get and wrung out the pad. Then with the wrung out pad, I soaked up the muck. It even cleaned the grout. So I wiped a 400 square foot floor 4 times and still used only one pad. You wore a hole in your pad the first use by leaning into it and scrubbing.
Will the Mr Clean magic eraser work good to get scratches on metal or fiberglass my scratches aren't really deep I have Super Clean or Super Power to use already gonna but the Magic Erasers from Lowe's later before I go to work. Was sanding my clearcoat so my paint looks more blended in but I got more scratches when doing it should of just used all the abrasive sandpaper I had instead of using the other kinds of auto sandpaper I had.
lakerfan80893 Yes. But with that said, hard water spots can etch into the glass, paint, chrome, etc. Then the only way to remove is by polishing away the surround material to the bottom of the etching.
Ricardo Chavez That sounds like scuffing from abrasion. Depending on the depth of the scuff mark, if it's not deep and you have significant depth of clear coat beneath it, then polishing should fix the scuff mark.
The Magic Eraser will abrade any surface if it is used long enough, hard enough. But like most other products or tools, you as the user are in control.
The info is useful and he's obviously passionate about sharing his knowledge..but...I agree, this could have been a two minute video, tops. I usually won't watch a "how to" vid that is longer than 3 minutes.
I'd be afraid to work on Bentley's, Rolls Royce's, Ferrari 's and such. I'd need years of experience before feeling comfortable tackling cars like those.
You're a great detailer and well learned but you should never ever use the Magic Eraser on any part of the Auto Body Paint. The Magic Eraser is awesome for auto glass, chrome, vinyl, leather, mirrors and without a doubt the best product to use on interior glass. Never use the Magic Eraser on plastic and auto body paint.
+Auto Fetish Detail how would you handed melted crayons on the back dash of the car,or where the back windshield is,where to rear speakers are, know what I mean,if their melted on really!!! good, where their rock hard ??
He's a Detailer. He's trying to make what he does sound way more important than what it is..... He cleans and details Rich lazy peoples cars and gets paid well for it. End of story!
You're over explaining things....less is more....remember that! You have an intelligent audience. 2 minute demo and over 7 minutes of babble! Short and sweet.....short and sweet!
Ken Hoey Yea your right bro He talks to Damn MUCH, Dnt get me wrong the guy does kno what he's doin he's pretty cool but that talking tho, He has this 30min video of talking and only 2min of action...Like you said short and sweet..
Ken Hoey funny you know everyone watching the videos what an assumption haha. The videos aren't made to make you happy. He's thorough covers everything for those who may or may not know it all. Since you apparently know everything why are you even watching.

You do an awesome job with explaining to your audience. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us!
Great video. Chemical Guys done a video on this and pulled out the compound and polish. You mad it look so easy. Thanks again.
I don't think you can talk too much, especially when you have a wealth of knowledge to share that's been gained over many years of hands on Detailing.Keep the too much talking videos coming!

For those that can't bear the video because of the talking keep in mind that these videos are to teach beginners not experts or people that want something fun to watch. Keep talking it helps us beginners begin our detailing career.
I love your sense of humor. I'll never see one of these magic erasers without thinking of them as the eighth wonder. LOL
What do you use to make the black plastic trim on the CRV so nice in black? And does it stay that way?
Great tip! that spot is always a pain to clean in general!
What grade of Magic Eraser do you recommend for this? Original, Extra Power or Pro??? My assumption is to use the original as it may take more time, but obtain the same results right?
Ralph Terrell I keep it simple; use the original. I am suspect as to whether you would find much of a difference.

John Taylor No rule on that one; it is a case by case based on the many factors of the moment.
Can you not.pair this magic sponge with Ultimate compound to.remove those heavy scratches without using wax to hide them ?
Do you recommend any certain kind of glove to protect your hands from the cleaning agents?
can you use this tip on a black car? Usually a black finish is less forgiving that lighter colors as the color of the car in your awesome demo. Thanks
I was wondering how I get these marks since I'm so careful. Thanks
I’ve seen sone other YT videos where people used the magic eraser with WD40. would that work as well as the degreaser?
I think you're using the Magic Eraser wrong. I cleaned a 400 square foot tile floor with ME pad, because I kept the pad saturated with water. Hi there! New to your channel. I have scratches in the plastic console in my car - will this method work for plastics? Should I use any lube?
Would you do this on a black car or no?
There are always haters.....if you don't like the way he explains things, just click off. I liked his explanation.
Will the Mr Clean magic eraser work good to get scratches on metal or fiberglass my scratches aren't really deep I have Super Clean or Super Power to use already gonna but the Magic Erasers from Lowe's later before I go to work. Hi can you plz tell me ...if this will work on black car.
How do you remove makeup stains from plastics and navigation screen?
hello, I am from Ecuador, and here there is not this Magic Eraser Mr. Clean product. What can I use an alternative ???
Is the magic eraser safe to use on car windows to remove water stains?
lakerfan80893 Yes. But with that said, hard water spots can etch into the glass, paint, chrome, etc. Then the only way to remove is by polishing away the surround material to the bottom of the etching.
Have learned so much from you Darren..Thanks
Great tip also for the dutch detailers.
I used the magic eraser once on small paint transfer and made my clear coat get some sort of Haze.
Ricardo Chavez
That sounds like scuffing from abrasion. Depending on the depth of the scuff mark, if it's not deep and you have significant depth of clear coat beneath it, then polishing should fix the scuff mark.
Are you working on wolverines car
Where can i buy that Magic Eraser and how much does it cost?
How well do these work on old wax residue left on black trim?
Amazing. Just did it right now.
What will use on ink on leather?
Hi Darren, have you tried this technique on a black finish?
The Magic Eraser will abrade any surface if it is used long enough, hard enough. But like most other products or tools, you as the user are in control.
I always like to learn from you.thanks.i scratched my car paint with Scott bright .....
where can i buy the magic eraser in australia ?
The info is useful and he's obviously passionate about sharing his knowledge..but...I agree, this could have been a two minute video, tops. I usually won't watch a "how to" vid that is longer than 3 minutes.

Tried it on my blue car and it left permanent white marks everywhere!!!!!

44altecz
I am glad he is talking because I am learning.
Dumb video waste my time "" that's why detailer tells his clients 20 bucks for clear film installation behind door handle or you don't offer that ?
I love your videos, but I bet you drive your wife crazy if you go into this much detail when explaining things to her.
As far as I know she works with him in the company. She's in some of his later videos.
1:40 the zoom was too tight!!
