I’m someone who’s from the DC area, so a lot of this hit hard because i recognize a lot of these locations. Racism plays such a key role because a lot of these disappearances happened in the anacostia area. that area definitely doesn’t receive the resources they deserve from police because it is a majority black-brown area with a lot of poverty. it’s such a shame that black girls are robbed the life they deserve, and the world will never know how brilliant they could have been. rest in peace to all the victims, and shame on the police.

Cause if he was 27-32 like the FBI thought they would be about 77-83 right now if they’re still alive so there is a possibility that this could happen. I have to believe that it will. I want the families of these 6 beautiful young girls/young women to be at peace, and get the answers they’ve been denied all these years. The police did barely anything until it went viral and the community got angry. I think they found six soon after that, but I haven't seen many updates to the case.
Edit: Woah, I don't have notifications on so I didn't see the replies. To answer some people: yes, this isn't a confirmed fact. The police have claimed that the cases weren't related. However, interviews with the parents of some missing teens in that area have said they believe otherwise. They even hired a private investigator, with which the police refused to work with. This has led many people to believe the police are involved themselves. Once again, it's not confirmed.

I’m usually not one to jump straight to “it was a bad cop”, but seems like it would explain so much.
-a cop could have quickly/easily gained a little girl’s trust.
-a cop wouldn’t (necessarily) make the little girl who wrote the note stressed.
-a cop could have made it so the investigation wasn’t going anywhere.
-a cop could have destroyed the evidence.
-a cop could have been comfortable around the interstate, and wouldn’t be questioned if seen around the area.
-a cop could find the phone numbers to the one girl’s home.
-a cop could be seen around the girls’ neighborhoods and not be suspicious.
-with protests going on around the same time, a cop could possibly sneak around and not be questioned by other cops.
-cops support other cops, so if there were even little clues about a certain someone, they might be swept under the rug.
Just some of my immediate thoughts. Might have to stew on this more.

Definitely a cop! Cops dragging their feet and making evidence disappeare are 2 huuuuuuuge red flags.. if you ask me
I feel like the 2 cops she goes in to the last couple of minutes in the video were highly likely to be the phantom and were maybe part of some damage control, it seems everyone was thinking it was a cop at the time for the lack of action on their behalf so that they eventually just charged those 2 cops and only made that 1 body connect to them instead of all the girls.. they say the last girl had a gunshot wound but whose to say that's the truth? Cops lie

Ps I think he took the shoes to prevent them from running. That's something that jailers and those who oversaw youth detention centers/homes would do.

I think he took the shoes because of debris tracking. Dirt and debris get caught in shoes and if he took them somewhere where they might have stepped, it could narrow down the area. For example, if someone steps in mud, it gets stuck on your shoes, and all you have to do is look up nearby areas that have rained recently

Didn't he take the shoes all from the girls? Like the child shoes are his souvenirs. The 18 yr old still had hers, right? The other girl that was shot imo wasn't connected. I feel like 24 was too old for him. He clearly wanted children, but would settle for teens. I don't think he'd be interested in a 24 year old woman.

And two were named Brenda which is just weird. Wonder if a cop would stop children and ask their name, maybe he has some vendetta against women with the names Brenda and Denise. Who knows. I watch a lot of true crime and I also like patterns, they say a lot.

Ms Sarian, I love your podcasts. I just wanted to say, what makes viewing you and your projects is you being true to yourself, and of course the makeup. Some folks are just so miserable that all they can do is complain; perhaps these folks are so miserable with their lives that they complain?? Keep being true to you, you are doing a fabulous job. Thank you for taking up the time to keep us knowledgeable regarding these suspicious folks, events.
