No Undelete option for Linux on EFI GPT. Only Image Creation option.
Seems to want to create an image of my Linux (1TB).
    Help, somebody?

0 OK 0 failed. That means everything is OK, the folder test two deleted inadvertently is now recovered successfully.
0 OK : because the folder contains 0 file. If instead the folder test two had more than zero file, saying for example 19 files, you will get the message 19 OK in the place of 0 OK. That's all.
0 failed meaning all files contained in the folder you are trying to recover are recovered too and only 0 file failed.

Hi. Great tutorial. Just one question though, will this method work on a virtual machine for Linux running on windows 10, to recover folders on windows 10 that predate the virtual machine

There's no reason why it wouldn't. If it cant for some reason, then just install Linux along side windows. I've done it many times in the past with Ubuntu based distro's and had no problems.

Other Stuff I back up my home directory to a 32Gb sd card. Being the bright spark that I am, I somehow formatted it, d'oh! Once I worked out how to use checkdisk (intuitive it ain't) my files and sanity were restored. No. 1 rule in this sort of situation DO NOT use the disk where the files are/were as the chances of restoring them are greatly diminished!!!!

Tried this on Linux Mint 19 cinnamon.
    Single disk, single partition.
Accidentally deleted a project folder for edited videos and art.
It manage to recover the folder itself, but NONE of the content inside it.
Is there a step I'm missing or is there a different approach?
had probably 1000+ projects however None have been recovered, nor looks to be recoverable.
    Mostly PNG's, MP4's, PSD's, MP3's, ect.
Dunno if theres a different way of recovering.

yes. watch this video. you can find all deleted items in RED. find the files/folders as you would any file tree. back up file on USB or External drive. best to remove the drive you lost files on and recover from another computer as any data the system uses will use un-allocated space ( deleted items ) the more free space on hard drive the better.

Linux & Other Stuff what do you mean by best to remove the drive you lost data on ?
      I don't understand that part

    • @daves.projects
      @daves.projects  6 лет назад

the operating system is always useing data space and it will take any available space so the longer you use it the less chance you have. a bigger hard drive with more space helps.
