- On October 11th, 2016, Northaven United Methodist Church hosted Sh. Omar Suleiman. The topic was "Is Islam to Blame for ISIS?" with an extensive Q&A session.
Imam Omar Suleiman is the President of Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research as well as a Resident Scholar at Valley Ranch Islamic Center. He serves on the coordinating committee of Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks Giving Square. In Dallas, he has been a noted leader and voice for peace, and has partaken as a representative of the Muslim Community in many city functions. He has since been a guest at various national functions to share his experiences in community building.
I cant understand why anti muslims think this guys a danger. Wallahi he is a cure for these ideas.
Because anti Muslims groups don't like Muslims like this imam. They like people like isis so they can blame Islam. The real reason for their hate is because Islam challenge. Islam is the only religion that growing fast. Isis is the only way to stop this fast growing. I wonder who's really behind isis.

The Qur'an says in chapter 5, verse 82 that you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not arrogant.
Where does the Qur'an say that? Please give me the exact verse.

So who do you think those Christians from Najran worshiped when they visited the Prophet (pbuh)?
There were and are still many Christians who do accept Jesus as a Prophet and do keep te law, but those who adopted Paul's beliefs were there long before Islam. Quran addressed different branches of Jews and Christians.

Nothing give me more coolness from today's world more than seeing cousins in Abrahamic religion, being such a family. They make fun together, they talk out for clarity and they are always, always together. MasaAllah, a dream-world for me!

I’m almost halfway through and he hasn’t addressed any of Quran or Hadith verses that caused me not to become a Muslim myself...should Muslims not throw men who perform sodomy off of a roof? Should they not strike the neck of those who disbelieve? There’s more...but, I hope he addresses these things, because right now he’s coming off as full it🙄
I think the main jist of the argument made was to have understanding and community cohesion.... regardless of faith or difference.
In terms of hadiths, they would take more than 41 mins to cover and as Omar mentioned, the Isis recruits are there with a political agenda. Many of them drinking,clubbing and part taking in habits that even the least practising muslim doesnt do.
They try and justify and motivate other's with the deception thats its islam. If islam was about terrorism, with 6 billion muslims worldwide..... there would be no world left. Also Isis have killed more muslims than non muslims, let that sink in.

one cannot fix a problem until knowing and acknowlding the problem. if my christian bredren were somehow killing in the name of the new testament i would want classes in every cafholic school, every church; teaching the correct way and emphasizing how scripture can only be interpreted peacefully. i love my community and i would do as much as possible to prevent this from happening again.

Did u know that 1/3 of the modern day US army recruits are sent n inspired by the bee day evangelical Christians? Before destroying Afghanistan m, Iraq, Syria, Libya, some of them covered their tank muzzle with ‘ New Testament’? Big bombs they put different offensive Christian stickers! Had Bible translated to those local languages they were deployed! It’s mostly a coalition between the US govt. and the churches!
