Guys don't be rude the man has given his time and effort to try and help other people, respect that. Thanks very much BikemanforU!
Thanks for the help and the comment
those who CRITIQUE efforts are either well meaning in the effort, or, more often, covering up personal guilt over their own inaction(s.) Ignore the trolls, they feed on giving pain to others and thereby relieving their own pain by passing it on.

Well said.... My skin is super thick so let them hate it is all good.
I am not so skilled as yet. Be the armadillo.
Best video I seen thanks for spreading the knowledge ❤
Watching this 11 years later and i just want to say that 5his guy is my spirit animal.
That's right! "Gotta give it to get it"
And, I respect you and like you.
Thank you.
Thank You Sir, that was great explanation on parts and the use of a go pro!
Yes that's awesome, that's exactly what I needed to learn about, thank you bikeman👍
Thank you so much this helped me. My brakes are nice and tight.
On an unrelated note, kind of, my mate bought a diamondback grind and removed the front brake. Now for some reason he wants it back on and asked me to give him a hand, I was struggling to see how it would work with a gyro, thanks bikeman.
ps. loving the mohawk, I bet when it's up it puts my puny 8 incher to shame.
Just when I think you're going over my hairspray, you come back and say "We'll get to that in a minute." Now I feel confident about fixing the right brake on The Dutchess. Thanx!
Thanks for the nice reply but I should be thanking you watched the video and managed to fix my grandson's front brake, now he should be safer on the road keep up the excellent work.
thanks. I recently replaced the cassette on my road bike and was having a tough time adjusting the sora rear mech, I thought it might be worn. I ended up using Sheldon Brown's method (with cable disconnected, hand pedal and push derailer in until it engages 3rd or 4th smallest sprocket, then reattach cable, best method i've found so far).
I ride no brakes atm and it can improve your riding and style, but I'm going back to brakes again now my control is dialed because I love doing tricks with brakes like back tire stalls.
Hey thanks for the info i like your way of explaining camera a little blurrred lol at times but i get it family matters... I'll stay on your site, im trying to help in my community they have nothing. Closes bike shop is 70 miles other than a Walmart. I ride my owne and care for it but bmx geared bikes can get tricky considering they werent out when i was a kid so thanks
The most useful video I have ever seen about this. Thanks for your taking a close up of all those incomprehensible thingies))
A great instructional.
Great vid Bikeman, really like the all the hi tech terms. jj . Good advise on having a brake if you ride on the street.
Keep up the good info.

I am no mechanic, bikeman would know for sure, but what you describe is usually bearings with flat spots and/or loose bottom bracket.
Foot braking is absolutely fine, iv never had a problem and I ride down massive hills with cars going past. Its just a bit dodgier if its raining
This guy loves his life. I can tell.
Thats right Bikeman you tell them brakeless bikers they need to show more respect to the public traffic and have a brake weather is a BMX or Fixed Gear.
BIKEMAN! I need help, my BMX bikes rear brakes aren't "locking up" on the rim. They'll slow me down but the wont STOP me when I need them to. They can't be worn down I've had the bike for a week now. What I want to do also, is to be able to make "skid marks" and drift on dirt. I know skid marks aren't very good for youre tires but its fun. :D What do i do!?!? Please reply.
Thanks - your videos are great and you sir are humorous! Good job.
Just happened upon your channel. You are awesome! Thanks for all the time you've put towards this wealth of information! And you can bet your booty I subbed.
Riding without brakes!....From a Darwinian standpoint it is only a matter of time before those individuals are eventually naturally selected against. Nature's way of weeding out the dumb ones. As usual great episode, Bikeman! Keep up the good work!
love all your videos. Helped me on many occasions ;-)
So, bike tires are made of both rubber and nylon?
thanks for that ive been needing to find some info like this, so thanks again
If the park tool cable cutters are the CN-10's there is a cable crimper at the top of the pliers. Thank you for this video.
bikeman - looking at a used diamondback parkway - good bike ???
i dont have thoose screw-tention screws on my bmx, will there be a problem? :P
can you install brakes without taking off your handle grip your videos are helpful because I'm not very good at working bikes and I'm getting better because of you

Really interesting videos, I have learned a lot from the last few days and have subscribed to hopefully learn a lot more. keep up the good work!
Bike man do you think you can fix my rear and front brake beacause no bike shop In my neiborhood can fix them
Hey BikemanforU, what's the name of the brake lever, and the brakes?
What are the little stick bits coming out your gopro?
I have a Mongoose Pro with back gyro brake,i'd like a front brake also,i already have a brake lever for a front brake, but no v callipers or cables, which ones would be sufficient to use? Thanks for the video,it was helpful.
What kind of brakes are those? I've been looking up and down the internet for those and all I see is back brakes
Thanks Bikeman for the video I'm restoring my old Redline MXII BMX bike and I was wondering what all those little parts were for on the brake cable
Point taken, THX for the comment
Check that bottom bracket... The non drive side sounds like it got loose.. We will have a vid on just that problem real soon. stay tuned.. PS I love the seek nice bike, I knew you had GOOD taste.
Thanks man, good stuff
Glad it all worked out
Great video!! Thanks!
Glad you liked it. We go live today at 10am NY time stop on by.
Did you make a video for how to install/service rear brakes? Would be a big help, also... what are those metal tube/loop things on the frame that hold the brake line to the frame? And if you dont have those on your bike, and want back brakes and dont want to use zip-ties to hold the cable... what would you do? Can you buy those as a seprate attachable piece? Mabye use some sort of metal brackets that arent too tight so they dont scratch the finish of the frame?
nice good spring tension tips at 10:32
Lots more to come stay tuned.. THX for the comment
Can you do a full build on one bmx bike...?Thanks because I like ur videos.
its good, except the front brake cable is suppose to go under the rise bar like your upper detangler cable does, not above the bar. over all great tutorial
COOL Thanks for the sub. We have a bunch of brake adj vids
I don't mind the fixie guys as much as the bmx guys.. I just want everyone to be safe.. How are they gonna buy parts from me if their DEAD..
Kudos for being you! Thanks for the Vid.
I learned a lot in this video already :) just subscribed and gave your Facebook page a like! But aahh i need help! last night my cousin and I were trying to fix my rear brakes on my bmx. I found my back tire was rubbing against the "arm" of the brake on one side. and it was also doing what your front brakes were doing here in the video, only one side was flexing while the other stayed put so you had to fix the tension with the screwdriver, but my rear brakes don't have that little screw.. what should I do? If you have any ideas that would be great :)
Shoot some pics of your brake to my cell 631 902 0836
Thank you, I will!
Ok so update, I think I got it to where it needs to be, but the short cable that you use that threads through one of the screws on the brake and through the triangle clip is very bent and looks like I may need a new one? does that matter if it is bent alot? because I feel like it doesn't maneuver through the clip as smooth as I think it should. could that be possible?
Same to you all ware full face bicycle helmets
Abrasive but excellent . . . thank you.
any chance you could go over the operation of the rear brake
Cool welcome. We have a lot of fun. Follow us on "the bird", "the face", and "the gram"
My cable is not pulling out of the caseing what do I do
Hey, can you please do a video on how to install u brakes on a bmx bike?
can you plz make a video on how to set up a detangler
Is there any way to put my brakes on if my wheel is to big/wide? Like special wide brakes or something?
Does gyro let u barspin
Nix Tan yea
Some of the best riders use brakes and wear helmets. Look at Harry main.
Like, the brand of the lever and brakes? 0_o It really doesnt matter the brand or the price as long as you set up and position all the parts correctly. Other than having certain braking systems being $150 and others being $15 just because of the brand, ther isnt any difference. The difference is all in how you take care of it, and how you angle the brake pads. But there are brake pads that last longer than others, and some that generate more friction, but they do the same job, the exact same way
My slit does not go in
👍👍👍👍
Thx for the comment that was funny..
Check out episode 1
i love americans enthusiasm
Definite sub from me
i bought the same bike for my son, the back brake is grinding into itself at the center where the two pieces meet in the middle...should they be touching each other to the point of grinding, the paint is coming off at the spot....
I bought them braclets and I still can't play
dont be so meen to seth i like seth
bmx gyro tutorial?
how about fixing the bmx back brackes
lol de-tangler
i ride bmx bikes without brakes
😮😮😊😊😊
Brake housing actually, not casing
Your enthusiasm is only diminished by your mullet!
Ill line up your slit
Damn. I have a redline and those fucks made the cord too thick to pass through the grooves in the brake handle apparatus. I am not a fan of destroying my shit, but they have a protective cable under neath the rubber/plastic that surrounds the main pully-cable... they made the fucking grooves too small or the cable too thick, going by your video. This shit pisses me off because I paid more than 400 for a fucking bike thats faulty out of the box.
We only use metal
detangler...aka gyro lol
AND FYI ITS NOT A DETANGLER ITS CALLED A GYRO
Don't know WHY I waste my time with guys like YOU... Odyssey makes a GYRO.... Black Ops makes a ROTOR.... They are BOTH CALLED a DETANGLER..... That is for your FYI.... Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.... GO AWAY... XOXO
Same shit genius
Why you need brakes, if you have foots?
I use my shoes all the time for foot braking, they are perfectly fine and still have tons of grip left
Me too.
Theres hills everywhere where i live, out of the 10 km a ride theres about 2 that are flat
You act like you are showing this to a two year old
Sometime we need it explained like a 2 year old.
Bikeman, How did you get that gnarly scar on your forehead?
i dont have breaks on my bmx lol
What are the little stick bits coming out your gopro?
We use them as a sight to line up the shot when we are close up
Ill line up your slit
can you please make a video of how to install a bmx gyro brake!
