Longest trucks over here (Switzerland) are 18.75m, we saw a sign in WA allowing trucks up to 53.5 metres which was insane for us. Our roads aren't made for this. We loved seeing road trains 😊
haha thats crazy hey!! seeing the absolute froth from the tour bus about the truck at that hour in the morning was sick haha
Ha, our roads arnt made for long road trains either mate 5 trailers behind a truck is normal out in the bush travelling on dusty dirt roads that are sometimes water logged , bloody unreal but that's Australia mate😮 😅she's a big country and the truckies are carrying it 👍
Hi Guys The sign you saw in WA about allowing trucks up to 53.5m probabley applies to the 110 wheeler 3B 'Centerpede' used for transporting zinc ore 100's of kms to the port facility
\
Thanks guy's absolutely loved watching this one!!! Enjoy and safe travels
Great to see you going to ULUR 👏🏾
Wow, just wow, never did it, but love watching you two do your usual funny stuff, and a big congrats to you Keelan that big Spanish mackerel wow now your a big game fisherman, loved this video like all the others, can’t wait to see the Land Cruiser mods, and the new van, you guys deserve it. Like always stay safe.
Henbury Meteor crater was also used in the movie Wolf Creek
Heart attack hill, probably the hardest climb I’ve ever done, but the scenery and photos opportunities certainly make it worthwhile.
love that whole area!
Palm Valley, Fink river, the West Macs. So many awesome places!
Awesome video Keelan and Sarah really enjoyed it. That Rock would definitely would be fantastic to see. Always looking forward to seeing you both next Friday night for next episode
Hi guys I absolutely agree help anyone that’s stuck. But. If you want to travel remotely GET a sat phone or a satellite communicator of some sort. People like that die because they’re remote and no one comes past. BE SELF SUFFICIENT.
Love you guys and love your show. Ps not every shortcut is quicker 😂
100% carry a sat phone or starlink which is the same technology, we can always get ourself out of trouble with it!! Hahah your right about the shortcuts haha
I felt a Goanna Solid Rock backing track coming on at one point. 👍😎👊🇦🇺
I carry two spares in the bush and a Epirb and when we take off in 2025 for longer periods we will have starlink. Only ever had 2 flats so far in the bush and both were on the same road in almost the same spot 10 years apart...lol
Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year. Can’t wait to see your new van & the adventures in 2024 🎄🎄
I didn't quite catch that, did you say it was "pretty corrugated"? btw drove an old HR Holden down that road to Kings in the late 1970s loaded with 4 dudes and heaps of stuff and the only break down was one puncture
Hi Guys bloody ripper episode. Firstly happy anniversary looked like a lovely 😍 evening. Cheers for stopping & helping out the stranded ppl. Cannot believe some people just drive by. Fantastic drone footage in the canyon. Really great content on these vids. Have a safe & happy Christmas. My shout for a beer in Melbourne if you guys are up for it. Cheers Kev 🍻.
Please check out Store Mountain, Georgia, USA. Large monolithic rock like yours. Love your channel.
Felt exactly the same every time I’ve been to the rock. I’m totally un-religious but it’s the most “spiritual” experience I’ve had I reckon. Agree on the view from a distance vs up close, as well. Great ep!
Sarah you looked beautiful and happy 4th anniversary to you both 💕💐🥂🍺
Thanks legend
Great to see you guys stop and help out a fellow traveler in need, that's the Aussie spirit. My parents went on a trip to the rock and had a bit of a mischief of the way and fellow travelers heading in the opposite direction turned around and asked if they were ok. Look out for each other so everyone can have a great time ☺
NIce video worth a look at it. However, Sarah's recording was soft in the car, and hard to pick up what she was saying.
Love you guys 💕 down to earth an your honesty love this,I only subscribe to you an reef adickes.i live in TAMMIN WA ,but lived in northern Queensland for 15 years you guys awesome.
2727 views what about matching likes for these two its the least we can do?
Thanks mate how good would that Be! Thanks for watching legend
Hi Guys love your content quick question how do you make a phone call using Starlink
Do You Drive with the back-door open, For a Reason? 😅😂
Thanks for the awesome content and entertainment guys❤. Can't wait for your WA adventures to begin . Merry Xmas 🎄🎄🎅🎄🎄🎅🎅to you all and bring on 2024.😊🎉
Noice vid ... One day....
I'm with you on always offering help - unbelievable that some flog would just drive past..so UN Australian !
Un Australian aye perfect way to describe it!! Your a bloody good person for stopping
Some people just wouldn’t feel safe stopping for a stranger in the middle of no where.
I’d also say it’s a self fulfilling prophecy carry on 1 spare, no sat nav in a clunker like that.
@@matgill6963 yes that is what I was thinking. Bad people break their vehicles. You stop to help and they do what they want to take your vehicle. It happens all the time so people are wary of strangers in remote places now
What about you mat? Would you want someone to stop and help you?
if you feel safe being out remote like that you should feel safe enough to stop and help someone.. this is the issue..
You are kind of missing the point cock.
Just because you feel something doesnt mean everyone else does. Showing your naivety and age I reckon.
Obviously in an ideal world people wouldn't have these concerns because people wouldn't be criminals, rapists and murderers.
Also in an ideal world someone travelling these roads would have more than 1 spare tire and a sat-phone.
for the record I would stop. But can also understand why others might not.
@@SarahandKeelanTravels
Another stunning video guys, awesome you stopped to help out old mate, he will be eternally grateful. Keep them coming you amazing pair.
PS: Looking like a hair cut is needed, hahaha
Thanks mate! Always stop and have a yarn aye! Cheers dazz
Anywhere other than the rock, you could buy those bikes for less than $70.
I do love my Y62 beast!
You can rim job you dirty diesel EGR for 4 hours!
Great video. Great Australians.
Ayers Rock! Always was, always will be.
Uluru is very worthy of the title 'Australian icon'. A totally awesome location in the true sense of the word. I have spent a total of 11 days there and will take any opportunity in the future to return.
For sure! 100% agree with everything you said and thanks for watching
We were doing the road from Hells Gate to Boorooloola and came across a family of German tourists in a Nissan Xtrail with a puncture we stopped helped them change their tyre to the Space Saver and we lowered all their other tyres and told them to take it very careful so they could get to Domagee and hopefully get a new tyre or repair…
Bloody hell that’s crazy!! And also scary isn’t it!! Good on you for stopping and helping a lot don’t
First section of the kings canyon walk is the hardest we struggled too, hubby still hasn't got over it 20 years later😅
Love it legends. Great vid. Awesome and very true advice to stop and help people 100%.
Hey, not like it's Wolf Creek 😅😅.
Hey guys truckie here can confirm if i woke up to a bunch of idiots taking photos and trying to my best mate early in the morning id tell them to bugger off 😂😂😂
Great video keep it up!
As always - awesome video. Just came back from the Centre. Didn't see a single soul on the Birdsville Track over 2 days... other than the nice couple running a hotel midway ("what are you doing here - are you nuts"). Only a handful of people on the Oodnadatta Track and the Pink Roadhouse was shut for accom (but Simon was kind enough to open it up). To not stop is horrible... but you can't expect to see many folks in 50 degree heat at this time of year so pack a lunch and lots of water/beer. The upside to the heat is the flies have mostly given up or died and the solitude at this time of year makes the trip even more special. Corrugations seem to have a sweet spot where at the right speed you float over them. Yulara price gouging is what happens when the government runs EVERYTHING and there's no competition.
Flying drone at kings canyon is against Cultural considerations. CASA Regulations so much for respecting rules of the land and the airport only 5km away 🙄
We have a permit thanks David lawler,
Thanks for watching mate glad you enjoyed the video! Have a fantastic weekend! I’m going fishing ❤️🤙🏽🍻
@@SarahandKeelanTravels would like to see that permit. I'm going fishing as well 🎣
Seriously who the funk drives past someone with their bonnet up in the middle of nowhere 🤷♀️
What the hell goes through peoples heads 😖😡🤦♀️
Haha you would be surprised hahah thanks for watching
We were there in 1991 my husband climbed the rock, amazing experience then it wasn’t so expensive then we stayed in a motel for 2 nights & I had a sunrise flight over the rock.
Shame it’s been so over commercialised now.
Good on you for stopping to help that guy. We did Laverton to Uluru, Kings to palm valley then onto Alice in 86 in our Subaru DL1800 Wgn towing a Road & Trak camper. Your trip has bought back huge memories, I climbed the rock then.
I love Y62 Patrol, and I have one😊
If you can afford, always take flights over big formations (e.g. Kings Canyon, Uluru, Great Barrier Reef, etc). View from the sky is magnificent
First of your vids for me. Loved the content, okker and vibe of it.
I have been to Ayres Rock as a kid and got to climb it (twice) though that is frowned upon now. Will get back there again some day to see how much the area has changed (touristy).
I did hit subscribe and look forward to more bonza episodes.
BTW, the 70's called and said they're missing 2 pushies.
Hi guys. Love your episodes. Keep up the great work! What mods, including the engine have you done to the 200 series. Great Rig. Cheers Craig
Hey Sarah & Keelan. Does starlink support VOIP. Voice over internet ptotocol??. Cheers.
Hey Sarah & Keelan. Does starlink support VOIP. Voice over internet ptotocol??. Cheers.
The Ernest Giles Rd is a beauty . Kings canyon farm stay is great too, not to commercialised.
"I'm pissed" Gee whizz, I do hope you aren't pissed when you're driving ! The RBT will get you in the end if you are getting drunk behind the wheel, leave it for the camp ground when cooking dinner, maybe.
Oi mate loving Great Northern right now. I just won a $10000 holiday through there 4 corners promotion. Woohoo! 🍻
You guys are flipping awesome, pretty sure that bloke appreciated the shit out of that.
Great episode, thanks for sharing .
Happy anniversary
😎🤙👍
Have how did you go with the parks generator we've been to the rock 3 time and made the mistake on going to the park on our last trip 3weeks before they stopped climbing
Please tell me your surf boards are secured? Pointy ends just behind Sarah’s head. God forbid but if you hit something and come to a complete stop they are coming straight forward like a spear. Not sure the head rest is enough to stop that.
Well done guys another great episode. Definitely enjoyed this one. Loved your little speech regarding helping other travellers. How are your 17 inch wheels and tyres going since you had them fitted? Thinking of doing the same to my cruiser. Love your work Dave
The reason a lot people don't stop or interact in any way is because a minority of people are hiding and ready to pounce on you as soon as you exit the vehicle (it almost happened to me 3-4 times) Leaving you stranded with no transportation, no food and no water. That will fuck anyones day.
Slow down, Ford 100 2 and half times around, 38 foot caravan, no major breakages
I have some fantastic pictures on top of that rock. the views are stunning in all direction, there is a compass on top and i have a cool picture sitting on top of it in lotus position. that was back in 1990/91.
funny i been to the rock 3 times and every time it was raining love to see it in the dry one day
Guys - where’s the latest Friday new vid? It’s Xmas eve and feels like no presents were left under the tree😢
Need my fix….
Great episode guys. The fam and I are heading up that area over Xmas so it was good to get a bit of a glimpse.
Nice one guys. You know I turned off to take that short cut road, following google 🙄. I very soon realized it’s a bit rough for me so took a you turn out of there.
Gooday Sarah & Keelan I follow you on utube & think it’s awesome what you are doing keep it up
NHULUNBUY, awesome place, bush tucker central
Only problem seeing a car onside off rd with bonnet up can be a set up with the certain locals and their family out hiding in the bush to rip ya off when you stop , it happens alot unfortunately thats why most folks don't stop now days and keep going , sad but it is what it is unfortunately
Merry Christmas Happy New Years & 4 years anniversary. I worked & lived in Yulara 2021/2022 as a Trade Assistant, thoughout the summer days can be anywhere from 35°-50°. Loved my time out there & would 100% go again. Theres so many things that are captivating about the entire area. Once you've experienced it, its in ya. Love it.
A set of tyre leavers and a bead breaker is a lot lighter than a second spare wheel on a caving expedition above the transcontinental rail line in a four vehicle convoy we had 14 flat tyres in one day I used a lot of tyre plugs and glue on patches but we made it back to a town
🇦🇺 Great Aussie Adventures 🍻 Cheers 🥃 And A Merry 🎅 Christmas 🎄 And A Cheery 🎆2024🎇 Oi Oi Oi 👍🏻👍🏻
The reason the Germans where taking pics of your caravan is in Europe we dont have off road caravans lol. As for the truck we dont have road trains either as they are too big for our roads mate
👍👍🍻 so u can atchly just drive around the whole rock thats cool , one day ill be there hopefully 😊
Awesome video legends , i was one of the last people to actually climb the Rock before they closed it down . And it is scetchey as hell coming back down the rock i was sliding down on my ass because my boots had no Grip at all , i felt like kissing the ground when i got back down there and so anyway the very next day a Asian lady fell to her death and that is when they closed it down . and yes you are right about the feeling you get around Uluru it's very spiritual . love your work guys Cheers ✌🤠🍺
Awesome content, I am planning on a trip up there in August, from Melbourne.
Awesome video guys.
My plan is in 4yrs to drive my kombi up through Australia and to experience Uluru.
✌️ Peace.
Young lady watch out for those surfboard behind you ❤
And zip round the corner come Zachery quack😀
Sorry that car audio struggled to pick up passenger voice
I don’t know if you realise you have your camp on the tow bar
Love watching your videos. Merry Christmas 😃 Safe Travels🎄🎅
Yes the rock is magical, just seems to hover in space. Great vid. Have a great Christmas, luv your stuff.
"Wolf creek".. do i need to say anymore 😂😂😂😂
Imagine how many serial killers live off grid 🤪 😜
"Put the Anzac biscuits in the basket" (Australia version)
As much as I can chuckle at this it’s statistically unheard of for things to go wrong stopping and saying “are you alright” lay off the horror movies mate!! Go watch step brothers instead hahah
Stunning, thanks for sharing and happy anniversary to you
Thanks legend! Cheers for watching
Proof that beer makes mountain goats lol 🇦🇺😎👍👊
Lovely spot well worth a visit despite the road. Keep up the good work
Guys we walked the rock and Kings Canyon this year and we loved it. Smiling the whole way. But we do love walking. ❤. Brought back great memories this episode ta.
I was on the same road one month ago and ran into a group of young guys with a second blow out so I stopped and plugged the tyre for them and followed them back out to Alice so they could get both tyres repaired they were so great full for it it’s just the right thing to do
Also guys while you were there you should have done boggy hole and palm valley it’s such a beautiful drive through the Finke gorge national park it’s just magnificent and a fun track to do anyway great video guys
That was great to see Uluṟu with you guys, you will certainly get fitter cycling around it like you did. The canyon was amazing too. Couldn’t believe people didn’t stop to check on that guy, unbelievable. As you said Sarah, “what’s goes around comes around” have a great Christmas & NYs and looking forward to following your travels, builds and seeing your new van in the NY. Thanks for sharing all your travels throughout the year, they have been truly remarkable, given me a hole new prospective on what there is to see & do in Aussie. Take care and safe travels. Cheers 🥂 🍻🎅
Thanx legends 👍
Happy anniversary, always watching 🍺😎👌
Gday Sarah and Keelan brilliant drone pics we were at Ayers rock before they closed it to walking the rock , was very expensive then , the rock is awesome cheers
Sorry guys I went into Rainbow Valley back in 2019 and we all said what a complete waste of time and the road looks like it was the same back then too
oh spewing man!! you could of found a treasure chest full of gold down there so I guess wasn't a waste of time haha
Should be like maritime law ,you have to stop and help when someone’s stranded
Aussie way was always you checked to see if they are okay & if you can help in some way, when did we loose that?😞
Hope you both have a relaxing time off & a wonderful Christmas! Bring on 2024!
I agree, I counted maybe 3 out of 4 cars in 2 hours didn’t stop and dusted us
Thanks legend merry Christmas
@@SarahandKeelanTravels that is really awful, especially in the location! We always stop & check & always will. What a terrible feeling to watch cars drive by when you need a hand; a little kindness goes a long way. Thanks for spreading the word, people seem to need the reminders of how to be decent humans.
"Moose knuckle on a camel"
Is that like camel toe? 😂
I've been to Uluru twice now & both times it's moved me. To stand in front of it... it's like there is an energy & a calmness. A very spiritual place. 💜💜 Merry Christmas guys, catch you in 2024.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year To you both.
Many thanks for the hours and hours of enjoyment
you have given!
Great episode guys , there is definitely something very special and spiritual about Uluru.
Merry Christmas and happy New year to you both , look forward to your escapades in 24.
Merry Christmas and happy new year loved your trip this year amazing places
Merry Christmas and a happy new year! Thanks for watching
Wow. What an incredible landscape. Good on you for helping that bloke on the side of the road. I can't understand people just driving past.
Thanks for another great episode team. 😊
The dinner and lights are amazing
Looks awesome. We’re planning to go next year
Good to see for stopping and helping a fellow traveler,
Thanks mate I swear it’s apart of being an Aussie aye
