Hi, I'm Chris! Welcome to my channel. I react to movies & tv shows hoping to represent what it's really like to experience them for the first time. If you enjoy, you can support me by liking the video, subscribing to the channel, and letting me know your thoughts in the comments.
The Rocinante! I absolutely love this ship and I’m hoping it becomes our home base, our Serenity. Things also are heating up with Joe’s investigation and we learned the horrifying story of Anderson Station leaving very curious as to what the future holds as our crew heads toward “Fred”.

Original Series: The Expanse (2015) - Развлечения
What's crazy about this show is how it keeps getting better and better.
The birth of the Roci.
The flashback to Anderson Station is based on the short story The Butcher of Anderson Station. I thought the writers here did a pretty good job adapting it and placing it in the ideal spot to give some insight into Fred Johnson.
That story definitely fit there like a glove! Love that they were able to seamlessly incorporate the short story.
@@CasualNerdReactions Note that Johnson got the epithet "The Butcher" for his actions as a colonel in the UN [i.e. Earth] Marines, 11 years ago. But _now_ he's in the OPA?! There's at least a couple of chapters to the story of that transition.
Shed's dead, baby. Shed's dead.
Beat me to it!
This show is very unique! The authors of the novels are actually in the writers room! Our beloved leader " Naren Shankar " is the showrunner! He came from great other shows like Deepspace 9! He takes great care because he loves the books so much!
Star Wars has the the Falcon, Star Trek has the Enterprise! Here in The Expanse we have the Rocinante! And we love her very very much ❤
Also in this episode we claim our fandom name " Screaming Firehawks!!"
It's really hard to conceive but this show gets better and better and better! You have no idea!
Looking forward to the next one!
Babylon 5 had the White Star, Firefly had Serenity...
And Farscape had Moya...
How come Amos was the only one paying attention? Well, as you noticed, he was facing in that direction. But his survival skills are well honed!
Situational awareness.
Hyper vigilance
I love this show. Seeing someone else get drawn in is just pure joy.
Love the "can see all sides" aspect of this show. Makes it seems real, like the messy reality we live in. And yeah, The Rocinante is one bad-ass ship!
"fuck yeah, Rosi..."
All of the Foundation building pays off.. if not this season but seasons and seasons from now.. The show does a great job of showing not telling how the world is. Everything you see is important. No frame is wasted.
Welcome to the Screaming Firehawks! You're one of us now.
I just realised, the sherpa operated in Tech Noir. That's the name of the bar in Terminator ! Nice ref.
Which was in turn the name of the movie genre coined to describe Bladerunner.
the amount of cliffhangers in this show is insane my favorite scifi ever and i had to wait a week for every episode
One of the (many) things this show does SO well is introduce you to characters that seem like a “typical” good or bad guy at first glance…. And then maybe they turn out to be something different… 🤔 - it also has many many memorable characters who you may only meet once or twice…. But the Actors do such an amazing job that these “minor” characters can end up being all time favorites.
Excellent writing + outstanding actors telling a great story = Magic!! 🚀🚀
The two authors, Ty Frank and Daniel Abramson were integral to the writing team for the show.
Alex's suggestion for the Screaming Firehawk is where the fanbase for the show got its name from.
i love that you are getting into this series :) I always imagined you would enjoy watching the expanse :)
One thing I loved about this series (books & tv) is that most of the characters are _real_... they are not just good guys or bad guys, but have their own motivations and believe that they are doing the good thing - just no one really agrees on what the "good thing" is.
I love it. Probably my fave scifi :)
The nice thing about this show. The writers of the books were apart of the story writing team. Instead of changing the story from the book for the show. They told the story from a different perspectives. So the two complement each other.
The way I describe it is the show is a bit of an alternate universe from the books - the characters are the same but their journeys are slightly different
This isn't a dish with a single flavor. It's a dish with multiple layers of flavor to savor as they come to the front of the palette. But it's not a single dish - it's one of many that makes up several courses of a feast. But its not a single feast. It's a festival featuring multiple feasts. The same ingredients are used constantly - familiar characters intermixed with occasional new characters who may or may not feature in additional dishes... all peppered with various spices; plots, plot twists, revelations.
Dig in.
Feeling hungry just reading your comment!
The last episode was truly mind-blowing.
It certainly went out with a bang! 💥 😂 🚀
You're one of the better presenters in the "reactor" genre on RUclips.
I'm so happy to see a new reactor! Welcome to the Journey of The Expanse!
Welcome to the Rocinante!!!
I know I’ve been pushing the books in the comments. That being said, the prequel story of The Butcher of Anderson Station is a short story part of collection of shorts that tie in with the books. I just read the first one “Drive” it was great now going on the butcher one.
I always describe this show as an R-rated Firefly with an unlimited budget 🤘
Not to say anything that could be considered spoilery, but I would recommend viewing characters less as Good and Evil, and realizing that much like real life it's more about self-interest and 'morally grey'. This is an extremely well written show, and you will find much more nuance than your standard Hollywood troupes and slop.
Yes! Rounding season two that is my favorite aspect of the show. It just took a little while to settle into what the was bringing!
It's always interesting to find out who never had a hamster pet as a kid
And this is how begins the journey of the Rocinante (James is definitely some kind of Don Quixote)
Almost every major characters will interact with this ship at one point of the story (one way or another)
Coffee takes alot of water to grow so its very much a luxury item
9:33 Holden's face!!! ☕☕☕☕☕☕
Oh, the Expanse loves to leave us on "What the fuck just happened" endings.
You should rewatch episodes 1 through 4 in a single sitting. They make for a great movie experience.
Your reaction to the last episode is typical to the rest of the show. LOL
3:48 Who is Dominic ? Do you mean Haveloc ? His call name is Havloc, but his first name is Dimitri
His full name is Dimitri Haveloc Havloc.
@@pspirto8014 Ironically doesnt look the least bit like a Dmitri, and the CHARACTER by name reappears in Book 4 in a very different setting, but the Show character isnt present then. It was a bit confusing at first.
The actor was not available, got a lead role in Magnum P.I. Instead of replacing him, Book 4 story was rewritten without him. I love the book story, but it worked very well in the show too, so both versions are very good.
If someone murders children, there better be a redemption arc that puts Darth Vader to shame...
This is my belief.
I belive he was told terriorists had taken control of the station not the workers. This meant he was not aware of the children. When he saw what happening he left the organsation.
Fringe
Farscape
The Americans
Fringe
Farscape is top 5 on my current interest for future shows. Not starting any new shows until next year though. I get up on Fringe though!
@@CasualNerdReactions The Americans is very underrated
@@dylanbollinger6872its great for season 1 then its a snooze fest
Shed is dead.
