i found sales about a year ago. i was in a very depressed and emotionally unstable state as i was in the beginning of coping with the death of my youngest sister. i found this song through listening to renee and wanting more songs that made me feel like what i felt listening to that, and soon i was here. this songs speaks to me on such a level, and i feel like crying and smiling and just feeling like the hole in my heart will one day hurt a bit less. i don't know if i was a good enough "big sis" to her before she died and now i still have to be a role model for my other younger sister and my older brother. my parents keep insisting on the fact that i did all i could do for her and that i was a wonderful sister but i truly don't know. i wasn't even able to say goodbye to her before she was sent to the hospital. i just miss her. but thank you sales, if you're reading this. you really helped me during that time. and anyone who's reading this, know that it will get better. life has its' horrible times and its' beautiful moments. you just have to keep pushing through.

Her mom moved with her to Minnesota and when they moved back, I didn't know how to get to know her. Things are just awkward when I see her on holidays. I have 4 siblings but all of them except for her have been older than me. I missed out on picking on my little sister and also being this much older than her, giving advice or being her best friend. I'm glad my older sister did that for me. But I wish I could have been that for Madi too.
the older she gets the easier it might be to connect. My brother and I are only 3 years apart, but it took until we both became adults to really become friends. I like to think that the way a 10 year old perceives life is much different from a 20 year old, but the way a 20 year old perceives life isn't as drastically different to the way a 30 year old would. I hope you're able to build that connection, family is important.

The song that reminded me I have a little sister I don't know very well and she's 13 now, 10 years younger than i am. Her mom moved with her to Minnesota and when they moved back, I didn't know how to get to know her. Things are just awkward when I see her on holidays. I have 4 siblings but all of them except for her have been older than me. I missed out on picking on my little sister and also being this much older than her, giving advice or being her best friend. I'm glad my older sister did that for me. But I wish I could have been that for Madi too.
the older she gets the easier it might be to connect. My brother and I are only 3 years apart, but it took until we both became adults to really become friends. I like to think that the way a 10 year old perceives life is much different from a 20 year old, but the way a 20 year old perceives life isn't as drastically different to the way a 30 year old would. I hope you're able to build that connection, family is important.
