Was dreading this since the last time I changed wipers was on a 1994 Vauxhall Corsa (EU only?), they were a pain to change. These were ridiculously easy in comparison. I wax so surprised 😂

Thank you for this. Had no idea how to change them and neither did the person at euro car parts. I like the feature BMW put in to prevent people from stealing your wiper blades though. Other brands are much easier to replace.

I guess "auxiliary mode" is a terminology used in some countries. Basically, what I understood, after a few failed attempts, is that you just need the ignition of the car switched on (without the engine running), which is "auxiliary mode"! After switching off, the wiper lever is to be moved all the way up to the top and held there for a few seconds, when the wipers are positioned for replacement. Thanks your instructions were helpful.
Yes. In fact, 2 positions “On” and “ACC” (for accessory mode) are found on old, traditional ignition switches here in the States.
I learnt this the hard way. Manually lifted up the wipers, took off one of them and while grabing the new one the wipers went back down hard, smashing the metal in the windshield. Now I have a huge crack in my windshield.

Make sure it sits flush and in place once it rotates to the horizontal position. Did you need the adapter?

Man i have a coolant light that won’t go away. Sensors are new/good and no leaks. Any suggestions? Thank you
I’m not 💯 percent sure what’s going on and for what model you own. From an experience I received new parts (expansion tank and/or coolant level sensor) for my E53 X5 that must’ve been bad from the manufacturer. The coolant light went away after swapping them out with another new set. I hope that helps some!

Why didn’t they just put it in the idrive?
As in instructions? It’s located in the owners manual; if you don’t have one download BMW Driver’s Guide app; under Owner’s Manual ➡️ Controls ➡️ Driving ➡️ Washer/Wiper System ➡️ Fold-Out Position of Wipers
You do know that if just you pull on them the motor will release them and then you can move them by hand in any position 😏

The easy way is just to pop-up the hood and open/lift it completely.
I agree, one of many ways indeed. And anyone who prefers that way kudos. Taking a few secs to lift the lever and change them w/o opening the hood is a win in my book 👍🏽
