Nope. It's sertainly so called "gatling" rotary autocannon (it has gas-operated automatics, so no need aux electric engine). See wiki articles for refs. Revolver style were ShVak and ShKas (used during WWII mainly)
Excellent system. Just one objection: gatling guns must have longer barrels for higher speed of bullets, because flame from barrels is huge (unnecessary waste of gun powder). Just look GAU-8 Goalkeeper, almost no fire from barrels.
nguyen danny maybe to prepare for worst situation cause sometimes in battlefield something unsuspecting happen,i like the way the put twin barrel 30mm rather than just one like amerika have the CIWS or goal keeper, because the more defence system on the ship the better they can do in batlefield,imagine if the ciws is already facing by many target like 30 misile in bound and knok out the ciws sytem they only one they have they must be very vulnerable againts missile and aircraft. Но при этом значительно уязвимее. А сбить 18 таких целей - несложная работа для корабля, способного сбить 20 "Гранитов".
"kortik" or "kashtan" ("kastan" is name for export, in nato is is called CADS-N-1 Kashtan) was developed in end of 70th. it is based on units of "tunguska" (SA-19 Grison). it was accepted in military service in 1989.
actually this is video is not too old but shown version of "kashtan" is a bit obsolete. afaik on the last version ELT displays were replaced by LCD. electrical element base is more modern.
Yes but the Goalkeeper is actually still more fierce. It only needs 1-2-3 Sabots to destroy the target, instead of 50 rounds on the kashtan. Both systems are very good, but i prefer less ammunition usage.

В США выкидываю кучу миллиардов на то, что не работает или работает, но плохо. И при этом это выглядит законно, а деньги все равно исчезают. Данная система вооружения созданна очень давно, и уже давно прошла несколько модернизаций. И если убрать тактические характеристики, то здесь преимущество за счет работы без электродвигателя.

It's 30 damage per round on 10 meters but drops to 1.5 so it's not really overpowered

Great system, probably better than Phalanx CIWS. But, I personally believe the system couldn't fit on any Western ship without taking too much room.
