She absolutely nailed it as Selina, from the looks to the personality and way of thinking. I'm excited to see her become full Catwoman soon.
Yes she did! I felt Michelle Phifer and eartha kit with her she embodies both and the way she was fem and feline at the same time, only problem was her hairstyle lol

She brought such underlying anger to the character. Embodies how Selina feels constantly beaten down by the unfairness of life and resents the systems that made her that way. I love this take on Selina
Yeah Selina is supposed to have a humble origin so her feeling that way about the city and the authorities makes total sense.

Yeah that was a huge element that made her probably the best Catwoman liveaction
As much as I love Nolan's trilogy, it's clear he didn't have faith in a comic book Catwoman working in a realistic world. Matt Reeves proved otherwise. Selina's affinity for cats, the whip, the claws, it was all there and it didn't at all seem silly.
also her drinking milk and wearing leather clothes throughout in the movie. That was cool too!
Nolan's Catwoman was the comic-book Catwoman, what are you on? She had actual cat suit with high heels and a mask. This Catwoman just wears a balaclava for a few scenes, that's it. Hatheway's Catwoman had cats and the claws, so I dunno what you're talking about other than making irrelevant jabs at Nolan's movies that aren't even true.
She did an amazing job as Selina and I can't wait to see her transform fully to the Catwoman that we love! Zoe should be really proud! She earned this role!!!

To those who didn't know, she also voiced Catwoman, in The Lego Batman Movie, so I found it so cool how she did the role twice. And she nailed the role in live action. Love her portrayal
Bruce’s thinking is flawed till he meets Selina. He can only see criminals one way- inherently bad. He learns to understand what makes a criminal- sometime those people aren’t given much of a choice- and therefore this new understanding helps fuel Bruce’s arc from being pure vengeance (which can only work retrospectively on crime and criminals) to the more proactive symbol of hope
It was a smart call to have Bruce bond with her regarding her anger towards her origins. It felt natural that Batman/Bruce would empathize with her anger. They're drawn to each other but its those moments where Bruce realizes how hard her life was that made the connection between them feel real and would motivate substantial change in their characters.

Exactly which is why Selina’s role and Kravitz portrayal was so wonderful. Who other then Catwoman would be able to break him out of his incredibly naive black and white thinking. Selina shows Bruce that not everyone has the luxury of being able to walk the straight path. And this in turn allows Bruce to realize he can’t just fight symptoms of crime he has to get more at the roots as well
I guess that is the difference between Nolan Bruce and Matt Bruce since Nolan had made Bruce live as a pauper for several years, while Matt made Bruce operate as Batman right from the get go.
Zoé Kravitz is perfect for this role, favorite Selina Kyle/Catwoman ever!

Nah Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway had great chemistry too. You could clearly see it in that dialogue between them when Bruce returns. This film just is just more about them. Shows them for a longer time. Whereas tdkr had only a few scenes of them together.

Loved this movie. And I loved her as Selina Kyle, she was great. Not only did she provide emotional depth and vulnerability to the character, but she also nailed that signature walk and moving style of Catwoman.

@@Noone.i Batman and Cateoman are gonna be on opposite side, in other words she's gonna become a villain. So that alone justifies her return but her appearing in the sequel does not negate the effect her leaving Gotham has if they do a show before so we see what she's getting onto outside Gotham.

This movie has so many of my favorite live action (insert here) version and Zoe's Selena is one of them.
They definitely paid homage to Michelle Pfeiffer's apartment in Batman Returns with the pink walls and sewing machine.
And the music during that scene too!!!

What I absolutely love is that they didn't do what they have done b4 where Selina is this meek and shy woman and she dies then is reborn as catwoman I'm so glad that they didn't take that approach
She is my favorite Selina Kyle so far. But my favorite Catwoman still goes to Michelle Pfeiffer. If that's confusing, there's two schools of thought when it comes to Catwoman. Either she is primarily Selina Kyle the cat burglar and that's the gist of it. Or there's almost another personality, a heightened self (kind of like Batman) that's megalomaniacal. A true supervillain. When there's that side to her, that's the "true" Catwoman. For Kravitz, I think they should just stick to the skilled cat burglar. Besides, no one is really going to top Pfeiffer's shift in attitude and personality from a normal person to a super criminal.
pfeiffer's wasnt even close to being comic accurate so her portrayal is irrelevant
@@wholethedogsout880 If you're going back to the forties comics and the sixties TV show, there's an essence of that very arch Catwoman that she captures quite nicely. If you only have a modern conception of Catwoman, I can see where you'd miss it. But even then, the chemistry between Batman and Catwoman in Returns is about as accurate as you could get.

This character change makes me so happy. I'm Italian and my wife is Black. We figured when it came to superheroes to look up to and identify with when it come to their ethnic background, our children would just look up to Black superheroes and Italian superheroes seperately. I'm so happy that now we have this beautiful, morally grey, Afro-Italian character that is definitely on her way to being a superhero.....in her own way😂😂😂
Michelle's Catwoman was more theatrical and a 'spectacle' to watch, like it was coming straight out of a comic. But Zoe's Catwoman is more 'grounded in reality', was designed in order to be perceived as "plausible" in a real world. So I think in the end they really covered both ends of the spectrum with this character in their respective movie. I think that Michelle's Catwoman was basically perfect, as far as it's supposed to be perceived as a more flamboyant version of the character. But so is Zeo's Catwoman for its own reasons.
I love them both, they're both the best Catwomen we've had on the big screen I think. I do have a slight preference for Michelle's, since I do prefer the Tim Burton Batman movies overall. But I'd say I really enjoyed The Batman as well. It had a bit of a slow first half, but the second half of the movie kicks in and becomes much better. I loved the last 20 mins or so of the movie really.
I want a hbomax tv series with Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. She nailed the personality and look of who Catwoman is. Want to see more of her.

I think the role of The Catwoman is not for anyone. Actresses need to have been born for this role, take Michelle or Julie for instance. And so has Zoe, she was born to be the Batman Year One's Catowman, full of anger and with a thirst for justice toward women. She nailed it, I would love to see her in a sequel

I agree. nothing against Anne but she's pretty much an afterthought in the dark knight rises. It's definitely a massive improvement and she's not even full catwoman yet!
Hathaway was amazing dude. It's just that that film had its focus distributed. Selina Kyle got far more screentime in this one. She was the co-main character here.
