- We spent 7+hours at Hamad International Airport (Doha, Qatar) during our travel from Mumbai to Istanbul. Principal airport for Qatar Airways, became the first Middle Eastern airport to be awarded the Skytrax's World Best Airport for 2021!

I ended up watching your whole video because I wanted to know about the layover at the airport . I am flying economy class from Sydney to Doha and Doha to Pakistan . My layover at Doha airport is more then 8 hours . Flying with my 8 year son . Do they offer free of cost sleeping facility ? Have you covered sleeping area video too ? Sydney to doha flight duration is 15 hours , then over layover at the airport is more then 8 hours .

Yes you can. Check airline restrictions, most do not allow in checked in luggage.

When I was flying to Cochin, I had to stay in Doha for 4 hours (9.20pm-1.45am) I wasn't able to explore everywhere because I can spend there for less time.
Hi, I have a 6 hr 50 mins layover at Doha. Travelling with husband and 5 year old child. 18:45 Doha time till 1:35 am boarding. Do you think sleeping for 2-3 hours at sleep n fly will make sense. It's costing us 17k (min they will charge for 6 hours) this includes double bed + kids bed. Is it worth? Or we can utilise time at airport and spend the time at airport and Al Maha lounge instead (we have access). Also, how are the quiet rooms.. are the recliners comfortable?
Hello, well it's a personal choice. Airport is big enough to spend time. If you have a major travel plan next day and you need to relax, you can stay at Sleep n Fly. Otherwise, I feel for 2-3 hrs it's not worth it. You will spend some time in getting comfortable at the place, and then 10-15 min while leaving :) Lounge should be good enough!!

you can get a visa on arrival not sure about it though,but on my pakistani passport i get VOA.moreover if you get VOA you need to be in a 1 day quarantine at an discover qatar (qatar hotel’s website) hotel. so if you have a 8 hour layover thats no possible. i have a 6 hour layover on thursday too so i had the same question but sadly the answer wasnt my on my side :((

Because I read that they provide you with free hotel accommodation if your layover is more or equal to 8hours

Yes, you are allowed to carry 1 backpack / 1 piece of hand luggage

Hi. I’d like to ask. Did you receive your checked baggage? Or was it transferred to the connecting flight? I’m seeing a lot of negative reviews about Qatar airways and missing luggage. A bit worrying for me, As I’ve booked a flight for 22nd July!
Hi, we had got out luggage safely. We checked in from India and got it directly in Turkey. Did not face any issue with the airline. All the best to you for your trip!
Hey good video and info - how much was the airfare and where did you book from? Also do share documents checked before boarding, transit and on arrival. Safe travels..
Our round trip ticket was around 60k per person. We booked 20 days before the trip (due to covid restriction uncertainties), hence it is on an expensive side. We have seen flights between 40-50k mostly (round trip, per person). Refer to below link for documents:

I have had doubts for some time. Should we receive our luggage from the airport we are transiting through or will they board our lagge on our next flight?
If it is connecting flight via same airline, you get it at the destination airport!

At the time we went, there weren’t any direct flights. Linked to air travel bubble. Given situation is improving daily, I think these will start soon (or might have started already). Do check before you plan the trip

Food is look awesome as usual .but don’t know what about taste but Qatar is good airline
Qatar airline is good. Seat comfort, entertainment systems, overall experience was good. Unfortunately, we did not find vegetarian food’s taste as per expectations :(

Really informative video. I am travelling to usa but we have only 2hrs layover, I heard for reaching gates only it will take one hour. Is it true? and we are also veg do we need to select the menu option before boarding the plane?
Yes, it takes time, 45mins - 1 hour. But I think you will still have some time to checkout any specific outlet if you want at airport. Pls pre-book veg options, most international airlines do not carry many extra veg options.
With a long layover, I am curious, why did you not leave the airport? I have a trip coming up with 9 hours in Doha. I think my wife and I are going to try and leave. Any thoughts?

Our layover was in night, so did not go out. In case it is during the day, you can definitely plan. Will need a visa though!
U can get a transit visa. I think you might get it from website. I'm not completely sure where u could get, but good luck with that. I didn't go out because had to stay at the airport for 4 hours

Miss shivi...I don't know If this is the right time and place to ask this...while u were travelling to a Muslim country..transited through a Muslim country...spend 7 hours of ur time in one the most luxurious Airport of a Muslim country..u must have even eaten there?...at the same time The majority community of ur country continues to harass the Muslims of ur country..in different ways as possible....it could be great while people like u could voice against this and show a bit of support to the minorities of ur country.

There is no such harassment. And Muslims population are high in numbers .it's jain community which population is very less than Muslim community so in real sense jain community is in minority . There are bad and good people in every community. So problem happened from both side.Problem is secular media who only show when Muslim are victim .They don't do much coverage when Hindus are victims
.Problem is on both side. In Muslim countries loudspeakers are banned in mosques but if we raise such thing our secular media will defame Hindus all over the world. That's the reason you people think Muslims are harrased because you get to know one side of story. Muslim population is growing in our country but if you see in Pakistan Hindus are day by day in less number as they are forcefully converted or killed. So you guys should raise voice for Hindus minority in pakistan And yes inspite of being in majority our kaskmiri pandit were killed and thrown out of kadhmir where Muslim popoulation were more in numbers. No Muslims has been thrown out of any state in our country like that.
