Oof, that's crazy. Mine was pretty fast to get here. Maybe you still got time to cancel your order? :D. Let me know if you have similar issues with yours, or mine was just a one off bad print!
Hi great video. I have just taken delivery of the Covert version and like you was a little disappointed with the quality. Could only mount a red dot on the upper pic rail and then it's not brilliant I was thinking of using a band saw to remove some material from the rail and screwing a proper rail onto it ? What did you do ? In its defence it's cheaper than most carbine kits £90 but not, cheap , and it does make my Mk23 usable as I did struggle with the long trigger pull etc to make any hits at distance. I'm a little disappointed with the quality but glad I bought it as I want to try the stealth hunter mode but not really interested in the full sniper mode. Thanks again for putting up the video.
Hey Gary, I decided where I wanted to mount my scope and took a file to the picatinny slots that i needed to use. Managed to square them out and get the scope mounted, but I was pretty disappointed in the product over all. Literally used it for this game and havent touched it since. I'm now running a HPA 416 as my CQB stealth gun instead. Like you said, it's on the cheaper side, but still, you'd expect to at least have usable rails, that's just a base line of acceptable. Dread to think how this will hold up after a few skirmishes, but hope yours makes it through the test of time. Glad you're getting on with it so far and glad the video was helpful for you :)
Thanks for the reply, haven't actually used mine in a skirmish yet Covid has got in the way !!! Tried to mount a quiche release pic rail but it didn't sit level so going to do the sama as you already done it to the front rail under neath bit industrial but... Feels solid after all it's just a lump of plastic if I cover it in paint or tape it won't matter anyway. Could have been better I won't buy from him again and advise people to spend a little more cash on another kit with a better supplier. I do like the concept though. Cheers mate 👍
Loved it mate, fair review after testing it out, shame though :( but you made the best out of it and still were able to get some great shots. Cracking Gameplay as usual dude! Bring on the 2nd :)
@@GillyAirsoft no doubt, there are certainly others who have done more egregious things at games - what turns me off silo, and quite a lot of the bigger Airsoft RUclipsrs, the most is their willingness to associate with those people seemingly without regard for whether or not those people are a detriment to the sport. They all give each other a bigger platform to do those things, and get away with it. There's also the drone incident, which he apparently quite badly misrepresents in the video he made about it, which was another big indicator of his character in general to me. Even his latest video, the one with the curved barrel so he can shoot around corners and over cover, seems like an even worse version of the riot shield problem - and because he's doing it, and saying "look how great this is" it gives all of his followers the notion that this is an acceptable way to play the game. Bragging about how painful his grenades are is another one that strikes a cord with me, because I've actually had a grown adult at a game decide he's got a problem with me after an accident, and come up to me (16yo at the time) during a break telling me about how much pain I'm going to be in when he hits me with his new grenade launcher. Thankfully it was a garbage moscart he'd picked up, and the BBs didn't even reach me, but for a while I was genuinely quite scared. I didn't really know at the time where he'd got the idea that it was ok to say things like that, but I have to wonder now whether videos like "blasting cheaters with these insane painful grenades!" Had anything to do with it. Anyways, I get that you've got your own channel to run and there's a certain economy to making RUclips videos if you want them to actually be successful, which is what really leads to those kinds of headlines and thumbnails on Silo's and others' videos. I'm glad you could take the time to respond!
@@ethancolman8159 Totally agree, man. There's definitely a lot of focus on certain negative aspects that make for good titles or thumbnails, which then filter down to influence the general attitude of the player base. Unfortunately this kind of video gets a tonne of views, which as you said, is the economy of RUclips. I guess all you can hope for is that players can think for themselves and see right/wrong. Luckily I haven't had any encounters with these kinds of people and the majority of players are still interested in having a good time and fair play. Lets hope it stays that way!

@@hazerusblazerus4203 do you actually know what the drone incident was? He attached a Glock to a drone, and used it to shoot people while totally out of sight. It was good to see the game play from this type of carbine....disappointed as to the quality of the kit as it is not cheap . Have just got myself a Foundry Airsoft carbine kit so will be keeping my fingers crossed it is better made ...reviews from SM and others seem good ...maybe try the MK23 with a longer barrel when using the carbine kit but then it would probably hit DMR territory power ?
Yea, I've only heard good things about the quality of the foundry kits, so I hope for your sake you don't get any of these issues with that kit. I considered a longer barrel, but every site seems to have a different rule about FPS on DMR's and a different minimum engagement distance. Thought i'd just stick with 1 Joule and play shorter distances, just need to get out of the sniper mentality of long range shots and play around the limitations of the weapon.

I'd be tempted to agree - Silo has a negative impact on the Airsoft community, and doesn't deserve the financial support.
