  • Anubias plant care starts by giving this plant. Adequate amounts of lighting and nutrients in the water column. This plant mainly feeds from the water, so ensuring that there’s nutrients in the water is ideal. The Anubias plant is a rhizome plant and does not need to be planted into the gravel or sand. Make sure that you have an aquarium light is around 6000K spectrum. With a mixture of the right lighting and nutrients in the water, Anubias plant care will be extremely easy.

The Anubias plant prefers in aquarium way around the 6000K lighting spectrum. This means that the color of the lighting is extremely white. This color of lighting compares natural sunlight to the best of LED lighting’s ability. Anubias plants can withstand super low lighting, but it doesn’t mean that it thrives on that. This plants can withstand extremely low lighting and stay alive, but I would advise using medium lighting.
Most aquarium plants demand nutrients in the soil or water. The anubias plant only demands nutrients out of the water. It consumes all of those nutrients into the roots and works its way into the plant. Is what is known as a rhizome plant. Rhizome plants prefer to be attached to a surface like a stone or drift. From there, the roots eventually start to grow into the pores of that surface if possible. The roots will be unable to grow into the pores of a stone, obviously, but it works extremely well with wood.
It is common practice to attach the Anubias plant roots to stone or wood. The most common practice of attaching the roots is by using superglue or string wrapped around the item. you only have to attach the roots short term because they will eventually grow into the surface and attach themselves long-term.

I'm new to the fish hobby. I have an Anubias Congensis and an Anubias Nana that i bought at PetSmart. I have them buried in the substrate which is gravel, and I am not sure which one, but the leaves are turning yellow, and neither one is growing. They have been in the tank for about is about 2 months. Also I have a Narrow leaf fern and I can't tell if it's algae or the leaves are dying but them look like they have brown spots on them. How do i care for them. I have glo and zebra danios and a betta in the tank. I have been dealing with an ammonia spike in the tank that is about 25 ppm. Any help would be appreciated

@@SMKNGRL420 I got my first tank a month ago and started the cycling process with a couple of plants. The water was too cold, they almost died so I bought a heater. Everything was going well so I then bought more plants and oops! Snail invasion!! Should have cleaned the plants. Lesson learned. I took out the gravel and put it in a strainer in the bath to clean later but left them there for a day. Big mistake... my cat peed in them! Now I'm starting the cycling process of the tank all over again with new gravel and the same plants (which have been thoroughly cleaned this time). Can't wait to start putting some fish in it :D One day... one day...

Just bought my first Anubias barteri plant as I've always had plastic plants in my three foot tropical tank. I noticed the fish are always on the top probly gasping for air so I'm starting to buy teal plants. Just watched your video on how to plant it I will stick it with Gorrila glue to a log I've got and hopefully buy more in the coming weeks. Thanks for the video and advice. Because I've sand in my tank I was wondering how the plant was going to grow.

I have 2 anubias broad leaf that are just gently wedged in to wood barely staying still in the current of the 2 seachem tidal 110s. I used no glue or string or anything. Do you think the roots will eventually attach to the wood. Occasionally one floats to the top because it's so gently pushed in to the hole in the driftwood...thank you in advance for any assistance. You cam see the issue on my channel in my 55g. It's the 2 anubias in the very front of my tank near the center. They're absolutely stunning, but I'm just afraid the roots will never attach

Your home is aquarium and house plant goals! Anubias is one of those cant-kill-plants that I seem to be able to kill. I can grow the most bougie plant except the ones everybody else can keep. Like I killed Java Moss and I'm not sure if i should be ashamed or proud. Anubias always turns yellow and melts on me. I just bought a Anubias barteri var. glabra "pinto" hybrid (bougie) and anubias Nana. Hopefully I'll have better luck

Thank you. I was researching easy to care for Aquarium plants to put in s Betta tank. The Anubias came up and I watched some videos about gluing them to driftwood. I appreciated your video because it was short, but I got the detailed information that I wanted. I am going to put some on a small piece of driftwood in my 15 gallon column betta tank. This video confirmed that the Anubias is the type of plant that I want.
