Will it live up to the hype? will Mike chop off his leg? Will you watch to the end? Answers inside ..... :P

Fantastic review and footage guys - nice editing too with you guys keep going and the overview of the cutting on the bottom corners of the video!
Always comment and thumbs up on your content you are not capable of putting out a bad review! Always honest and subjective. Thanks.
Love to see a review of more Makita stuff - it's probably the most popular brand for cordless here in the UK. Cheers.
Ryan Appreciate the love mate !🙌🏻
We love what we do and are fiercely independent 👊🏻
You guys are spot on this review and made me buy it, man I'm so glad i still can't believe it. I'm cutting wood and I'm singing with joy no more pulling and struggling to start the dam thing, life is easier now i also bought a second battery for more cutting time.
thanks for this guys. esp love that you got Rhys Darby to do the review with you!
Any time! :P
Excellent - very refreshing to watch a review that doesn't ramble on and talk crap.
thanks man :D
I just got this for thanksgiving and used it to carve the turkey.
lol
Great review and video guys 👍🙏♥️
Just got mine in the mail. And was worried about the bar fix method. Many reviews said its loose and cheap. And was so please to see its tight as a drum. No problem or problem fixed. Mine does not clutch when I tighten it. Its model DCCS670
Made my choice of chainsaw allot easier to pick now 👍👍 great review
Thanks 👍
I bought this saw as I'm already in the dewalt system and have heaps of flexvolt batteries, no point having another brand to sit around not using the batteries. Didn't want to have to mess with 2 stroke and all the noise. I've been really impressed with the power and convenience, everyone who uses/borrows it loves it. Does seem to go thru a bit of bar oil. Not sure where the keyboard warriors are coming from saying it's not built too good. I've not had any issues with mine.
Skippy Chippy I reckon your on the money ! Glad you like yours.
It has plastic bucking spikes, no oiler adjustment & the bar tightening mechanism is really bad. The oiler cap is also really bad, but that's not really relevant to the saw's performance.
It's definitely not built up to the baseline standards of an actual chainsaw. It's built like a toy that just happens to have a really nice motor in it.
Makita's 36V saw definitely meets most of the basic requirements. At least the bar tension mechanism is certainly better than the Dewalt, although still not quite perfect.
but I will say that Dewalt's chain tensioning dial is a lot better than the Makita. Makita's chain tension dial is about as bad as Dewalt's oiler cap. Both feel like they could break at any second.
And idk why people are complacent with this sort of mediocrity either way though. I'd be hoping that Dewalt's next saw incorporates metal bucking spikes. hell, even Makita's 10" saw has metal bucking spikes.
Either way, I'd rather both brands go back to chainsaw wrenches for bar + chain tension on anything larger than 14".
Aa BB Rhe lack of spikes is a little annoying but the oil issue that I have seen and heard of before seem to be sorted with this one, so either it’s been fixed OR I’m very lucky at this point. I will certainly keep an eye on it. I also havnt had any issues whatsoever regarding the chain tension dial with either of the dewalt chainsaws we have used.
Great! Other thing is... if offgrid all these can be charged locally unlike 2-stroke fuel.
Dewalt for life!
Preach it my man (from another dewalt lover)
Gents can you review the makita DUC353 36V chainsaw
Super cool video for a super cool tool ! Being a Dewalt enthusiast for years I am not surprised that this thing is good, but listening at your comment, I do realize it is actually SYPER cool :-)
Thnaks guys for the great review !
Nice video guy's
thanks for the review guys I was really interested in this unit as I fed up with dragging petrol around, then pulling on the cord trying to get it started. Squeeze the trigger, much better idea
you're welcome John :D
Would love to see a review of the Milwaukee Chainsaw
we'd love to try it!
Does the chainsaw leak alot of chain oil when standing like the smaller battery version?
Also where is this chainsaw made?
4:54 you can see that there is a lot of chain oil left on the log. is there a way to adjust the oil feed to the chain?
no it can't be adjusted. that feature is usually only found on pro saws
@@OZToolTalk thanks. I bought myself one of these saws, didn't have problems with the oil, but the Motor burned after 2 months. Until then it was a nice saw to work with, but all good things come to an end... A smokey end for mine. 😄
Would love to own one myself, the only problem being i own Makita gear and have no DeWalt at all. How to convince the wife that the outlay for all new gear is in fact a fair and reasonable one to make? lol. Great video as always guys, many thanks for the look at this beast.
Sean Cleverly Thanks mate.
Haha, I think you new to find a KILLER deal on another yellow tool she would be excited about and then drop the catalogue in front of her with a chainsaw special 😝
@@OZToolTalk lol yeah might be worth a try.
Not sure how you will persuade your better half that you need (absolutely need and must have) one of these especially as it's not just one of DeWalt's nice yellow toys but a FlexVolt which means not only the chainsaw but possibly a nice new dual 18/20 Volt charger and at least one dual 18/20 & 54/60 Volt (that's why they are flexvolt) battery and probably more than one. Have you seen the price on these?? and nobody can make compatibles yet (still in patent) so one is trapped into paying DeWalt sky high prices.
Let me guess, misses say No!!!😢😢😢
Great review. "best chainsaw I've tested so far", now test the Milwaukee chainsaw💪
Thank you for wonderful review, I'm looking this also compare with ego chainsaws, what do you think?
both are awesome. check out our comparison!
Would the 16" bar out of this be swapable with the 10" bar in there 18v brushless chainsaw and vise versa?
don't know sorry.
Have you guys tried any of the stihl battery gear
Paul Blasius not YET sorry.
Keen to
Looks a beast!!! Looks more powerful than reds
thai phan Hard for us to say as we havn’t tested it yet but this certainly is impressive.
@@OZToolTalk ...lol sorry...somehow i got you mixed up with... Brian from workshop addict...they've done a review for Milwaukee m18 chainsaw....pretty sure dewalts looks more powerful... i feel gen2 coming on...Milwaukee just dont like to loose
@@dickphan no they dont
#teamred
@@dickphan Milwaukee got a glowing review from AvE compared to the Dewalt. So I doubt they're going to care.
Even if Milwaukee's is 10% slower, it's still built better and it's more like an actual chainsaw.
Dewalt's just wasting a nice motor on a toy with plastic bucking spikes & a plastic chain tightener.
Do you think the plastic tensioner will last? I've had bad experiences with plastic tensioners breaking on corded chainsaws. Why didn't they make it metal? I'd rather have a tooled metal tensioner than a broken plastic tensioner.
yeah I'd rather something a bit more reliable as well. hasn't broken yet, but I do wonder the same.
I ordered batteries separately and the saw arrived a couple days earlier so I'm dieing to try it out . But no batteries yet its torture.
you'll love it Rob
Why are the UK 18/54V while the American version is 20/60V, seems odd to me.
Just marketing. Technically the same batteries.
How does this compare to the Victa you tested? Victa with battery is cheaper with a battery than the skin of this. Would love to know.
Mike said this has more power than any other we've used. And it's his favourite. I also love it. [Dwain]
Is there a latest version with the spike grip
no
Just found your channel reviewing a new electric chainsaw off too get one 👍THUMBS UP & SUB
cheer Mac
Very good demo. Is this interchangeable with the normal batteries or is it just flexvolt only?
Flexvolt batteries only. It's the batteries that are flexible (not the tools)
@OZToolTalk Thanks for that. Looks like I'll have to stick to the 565 then
yup, yup.. yup.....yup, yup..
what is diference with dccs670 ? thanks
same unit
I need a new tool...... Let me check if them Aussie guys have reviewed it yet........no? ........I guess I'll just wait.
Dear Mr. Robert Bosch. Give these guys more tools.
Dev Scally haha, we have some Bosch Blue coming up 👍🏼
Did someone say chainsaw comparison? 😁😁
Ozyrob2 I hear NOTHING !
@@OZToolTalk 😂
Whats the 565 difference ?
this has WAY more power
Has the bar plastic bar tensioner been improved? AvE did a teardown in mid 2018 (ruclips.net/video/-yIqluXVleo/видео.html) and was not a fan; the bar on his copy could be moved side to side with two fingers and apparently caused the chain to be repeatedly thrown. OTOH he liked the Milwaukee much more (ruclips.net/video/o55Dw0-VEeY/видео.html)
dont know if the M18 milwaukee is more powerfull but i think that it is more powerfull and more profesinnal then the dewalt.
The DeWalt chainsaw is good, but I own the Milwaukee 16 inch chainsaw and it has more power than the DeWalt and all other battery chainsaws.do a review on the Milwaukee please.
... nice job, very good review, the only thing is has a professional reviewers you should check the review from AVE ,and then you can say that dewalt is o good choice.
I think this is the new one from dewalt...the one ave took apart was the old model....looks a beast...would like a comparison against Milwaukee m18 chainsaw
@@dickphan ... I did not see the inside of the lid, if dose not have a metal plate on that tidings mechanism, to cheaper the bar from wobble, is nothing different.
Same system is on the stihl MS 180 C-BE that only has the metal plate inside of the lid , and the clutch from the tidings mechanism is much more steady.
@@MrDINODINO74 ...APOLOGIZES!!! MY BAD!!! after a quick search on RUclips "ave dewalt chainsaw" ave has reviewed this particular model and doesn't think so highly of the wibble wobble chain tensioner.....sorry again for doubting ya ...as i only saw the vlog he compared a dewalt chainsaw vs the Milwaukee m18 ...WHEN AVE tears into a tool and don't think its very shnookm....sales are gonna decline....cheers fellow commenter...😁
@@dickphan... you don't have to apologise, everyone has a dream about he's darling tools manufacturers, and is not easy wen they make mistakes.
I have my disappointment with dewalt to, I have to put my own rafter hooks on tools I use frequently.
I have a bigger disappointment with Milwaukee, because he sales the same circular saw in the world and only the model from Europe doesn't have the shades light of the blade on to material I have to cut, and I have to build one one my own, because the light from the side are useless.
If dewalt was using the Stihl lid to cover and tid the bar definitely could avoid the problem.
If it ain't 18v I ain't getting it.
Don't forget to fill the f'in thing with oil before you use it the first time or you will knacker the chain super quick 😉😉😉
Other than the crap 'picture book destructions' that DeWalt provide which don't mention that the thing needs oil (and DeWalt not providing any oil with a new machine - Why not DeWalt???), it the dogs whatsits😂😂😂.
Without being too blunt, not knowing how to use a chainsaw isn't really Dewalt's fault. Bar oil is key to every chainsaw ever made.
Plastic spikes are an absolute garbage, and you can only use 9A and up to get half decent power.
Hey guys
Dewalt or ego
comparing chainsaws in a couple of weeks ;) [Dwain]
Oz Tool Talk will it be the new 18 inch ego
