I really love the Echoes of Terra website. It's such a small thing, a bunch of sprites with a sprinkle of lore, but it made me remember those events and smile. Weirdly emotional but so good
About the Day-Night Cycle, to play Devils Advocate, with all we know about how Civilization is all around the equator, and the terms "Frozen North" and "Southern Sun" leads me to believe that the Moon may be Tidally Locked. If so, then it would be more day to the south, and more night to the north.
