I am just starting out my content creation journey and going to go all into Video Editing! I have a budget of Macbook air M1 with 16 GB of RAM. Should I go for it in 2024, is it still worth it? Or should I be buying a windows alternative in the same budget such as Dell G15, with a RTX 3050 or HP envy x 360? Please help! I have just graduated college, and want to spend wisely! Also, does DA vinci resolve work well in MacBook Air M1 16 GB RAM, if i dont go for final cut pro right away due to my budget?
i am currentlu using macbook air , and for the people who don't know about macOS, I would like to say, almost anything that you can do on windows can be done on macOS, even gaming.
You don't have to look for anything else if you want to do video editing, Macbook is way ahead in competition. And for anything else you go for hp envy, or any other windows laptop according to your budget.
actually, i used to own both of these (same specs)....except now...after 1-2 years hp is un-useable bcz it heats up too much (hence, bad battery life + bad performance + broken hindge)...and even after 3+ years m1 MacBook air works great (8+256) (my sibling use it now).....but 256gb is very low if you want to run graphic softwares like photoshop (and forget about gaming on mac)....so I would recommend to go for 512gb....and also 13 inch screen size is a bit small....i would recommend at least 14 inch display (m1 MacBook pro or 15 inch m2 MacBook air) right now, I am using a 15" m2 MacBook air 8+512gb (8 gb ram is enough for me) and its 10 times better then hp in every way...even after a year of extensive use battery life is more then 10 hours.. so, I would recommend to go for.... m1 MacBook pro with 512gb or m2 MacBook air with 512gb (new or used) ... but, for you the biggest reason should be (windows 11 vs mac OS) .... if your focus is work/productivity/entertainment then go for MacBook......but if you want to play games then go for windows....but don't go for x360 laptops...instead buy a used iPad. (if you want to illustrate) .... i never used the touch screen or the 360 feature on hp........touch screen on a laptop just does not make sense

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Screen protectors are not recommended on any laptops.
