The moment that always gets me is when she reads the biography of Wang So. We find out he ended up being a great king and Hae Soo's efforts to prevent him from becoming a tyrant were succesful. In a way, she saved him. But in doing so and changing history, she also condemned him to solitude and loneliness. She saved Wang So the king but couldn't Wang So, the man who just wanted to be loved. That scene when they zoom in the paint and show him all by himself in front of the palace breaks my heart every time.
@@wife0fsunwoo for the sake of all the people in that dynasty it was worth it. A king and her lover needs to choose. either for their own sake or for the good sake of the masses.
Thank you for explaining. I was so annoyed with the ending because it wasn’t what I had in mind...but you describing what took place...my anger is replaced with sadness lol I’m glad I didn’t get too attached to the show/ending because I would be experiencing major withdrawals right now. But that ending was much deeper than I thought.
This is the drama that made me love the actor Lee Joon Gi. He’s fabulous. Just perfect as Wang So. He’s one of a few actors that just the look in his eyes convey such depth of emotion no matter if it’s happiness or sadness. He’s one of a kind.
It's touching and you really feel the pain. I've been watching it several times and I love watching Wang So and Haeso, they're a very good actor/actress, they excellently delivered their part. I wish for part 2 of scarlet heart, and Joongi and IU a real sweetheart. Good luck to both of you! and god bless. This is your fan from the Philippines

It's exactly because the world is ending that we need closure for this show 😭😭 it's a crime against humanity to keep all of us hanging like this 😭😭😭😭😭😭
jung's character was my favourite out of the entire series. he kept his distance to keep her happy and fulfilled all of his promises for nothing in return.
@@australianbeanz8108 he raised her daughter and let her call him "father" and refused to hand her over to the king no matter what is what gets me…. He did that out of affection for hae soo and humanity for the child, which is why I appreciate his character so much

everyone says its such a sad ending for Wang So, but I honestly think it's way worse for Hae Soo. Sis was transported into an era thousands years back without her consent and had to live and survive all by herself all just for the purpose modelling the man she loves into a King, and stopping the bloodshed from getting worse, while the royals were happy to use her as a pawn and then blame her when things go wrong. In the end she is left with nothing while Wang So gets the throne and glory. And she had to make a choice, between keeping a promise to her lover growing distant by the minute or her child and herself. Its only realistic she chose the later. But now she's back, and all the memories are comming back, not only is she seperated from her lover, she will probably get all the disturbing , traumatic mememories rushing back, she can't seek help without sounding like a lunatic. And she will have to pent it up and probably live in exhaustion and frustration all over again smh
Very true, Haesoo was the one one who had to go through the most of all sufferings, distress, heartbreaks, losses of loved ones, respect not only in history time but also in present time 😭

I feel really bad for Hae Soo. Before she was transported to the old times, she was sad, before being transported again to the present times, she was also sad. She never got to happiness she wanted for a long time. She started off being such a lively girl but ended up being the most broken girl in the end. Lost the 2 mother figure she had, she couldn't also be a mother of her own, ended up being backstabbed by the man she trusted the most, not to mention, Court Lady Oh offered Hae Soo to come with her and live together far away from the palace but she refused bcs Wang Wook promised her that he will marry her. She chose her child rather than herself bcs she didn't want her child to live in the palace. Two different people, two different worlds. :(

There was happiness inbetween🥺💓. Honestly life breaks down and changes most people's characteristics. I'm going to pick up some of Hae Soo's mannerism in memory to try and stay unjaded in the world💓💓💓. My heart definitely belonged to Wang So the whole time. The most heartbreaking drama I have ever watched which teaches us, money, name, fame, everything will mean nothing if you don't have your people with you. Though it may be your partner, friends, family, people who loved you. Lets honor our near and dear people while we still have them. Let's tell them how much they meant to us And we cannot expect our lives without them.

I still rewatch this kdrama. People in 2022 still love this so much, it has been years and still hoping that they will make s2. But IU said in Joonki's live that that the ending was supposed to be in the modern day where the Wang So and her meet again but director didnt include it anymore. She said fans will go crazy over So's look in modern fit. Hughh I wish they included that,to make me less depressed, and somehow a happy ending.
I just found out that the reason Hae Soo left the palace was not because she hated Wang So (for changing and not being able to keep up with his promises, etc.) It was for the welfare of their child. She selflessly and truly love Wang So and doesn't want to be away with him but sacrificed 'her being with him' to treasure what's more important, and that is their daughter, portion of Wang So, the evidence of their wonderful love, making sure she will grow, away from all the terrors within the palace. Sadly, it was too late when Wang So took down his pride and understand what was Hae Soo was doing all along.

It stays even deeper because it ended the way it did I believe There was a clip where she got down crying and a man giving her a handkerchief... that was the king in his other life meeting her again. I understand painful poignant endings hit harder and deeper so they didnt put it in but as someone who rooted for their love i just wanted it in anyway. Still. Inlove this kdrama
I watched and finished the Chinese original of this kdrama. The Chinese one has a season 2 that's why the ending seemed "open" compared to this. 🚨⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️🚨 I am assuming it is Wang So (in present era) who gave her the handkerchief in the deleted scenes, coz in Chinese ver, they met in the museum/qing(?) Dynasty convention, but the 4th prince doesn't recognize her, which is the transition between season 2
Baek-ah was the only prince who genuinely cares about the relationship between his brothers without getting Hae Soo involved. He pitied Hae Soo for getting entangled between the internal conflict of his brothers but at the same time relieved that Hae Soo was the one who put the brothers together eventho most of them fell for Hae Soo. and Baek-ah was the only one who didn't fell for Hae Soo and searched for his own love. It hurts to see Baek-ah left Wang So since So trusted Baek-ah the most. honestly, I don't know to ship Hae Soo with which princes since i only watch this series for the relationship of the brothers and i also love how the other princes find their true loves regarding non of them survived in te end
@@febengetachew9765 I think so. The other girl he loved was a fallen princess (the time before gyreo became a nation). That was when Soo bows the the king early in the series she mentioned why he is wise, since he included them in his empire and didn't kill their families-I forgot the family name. It almost seems implied that she had Bak'ahs child and Wook ended up taking care of her or she played with his kids. Like Soo's daughter she has a trinket from her mother that the father can recognize. Likely she was also hidden like Soo's daughter to keep her away from royals. Likely her mother wanted to protect her before she suicided for her people.

I thought Hotel Del Luna and My Mister would tore my heart already. Turns out, this one did not just tear, but also shred it to pieces. I think all IU's movies were perfectly tailored for her. However, I do hope that someday, there would be a movie writer or script writer who idolised IU so much, and he or she decided to write a story for her that do not end tragically... while My Mister ended in a nice and positive way, I still hoped there's another story for her that would have a good ending for both characters (good as in they are really united). If it's possible too, it is also tailored to fit lee-Joon Gi or Yeo-Jin Goo..
I never comment but the director executed this drama beautifully I was crying for a full 2 hours after I finished it and ended up here crying even more. the message 'life is fleeting, nothing last forever' being reinforced is refreshing as most kdramas don't make you re-evaluate life after you watch them for me personally but this one, was quite different. I will cherish this kdrama forever
This is a classic example of how doing what you think were good might hurt other people. He thought changing the handwritten letters might do her good but it actually are the reason that took away her last wish to meet the man she love before her death. While So are too stubborn and I actually think he deserved it. In the end though, Hae Soo are the one who were regretting her choice of leaving him alone. To me, this is a tragic story of making your own assumptions. Even if you want to end things, always ask.

EXACTLY! i don’t blame that much Hae Soo for her fate… but why didn’t she never ask? or he, Wang So. There was soo much misunderstanding in between them but they still never asked each other about anything. that’s the most annoying part to me. if they just wanted to talk more and deeper, they would figure it out and everything could ended good for both sides, even Hae Soo. i mean she was a lover of a King. She could have anything, and asked anything she wanted. not only because he’s a King, but Wang So truly loved her. He would understand her, just how he understood her in the tragic end.

No matter how many times I have watched this drama, I keep hoping when Hae Soo is transported to the past that she finds happiness. There are small moments of happiness and love, but I always cry for her and Wang So. He too wanted to be loved and accepted first by his family and others. When he returned in the beginning, he had hoped that his family would have been happy to see him. Instead his mother rejected him knowing that she was the one who scarred him for life. Hae Soo's carefreeness and boldness are what appeared to have sparked his interest in her. So when she showed him compassion and helped him by covering his scar to gain confidence and acceptance, that appeared to be his turning point. I felt so bad for his brother, Jung, who took her away from the palace. Had hoped that she would have found happiness in being with him. However Jung knew she was still in love with his brother and respected that. But I adored how he raised her daughter as his own. Cried that Wang So let his jealousy blind him to how much his brother and Hae Soo loved him. It wasn't until she died when he realized it. Baek-Ah seemed to be the voice of reason as hurtful as it was for Jung-- by telling him to let Wang So have Hae Soo's remains. In respect, Wang So kept Hae Soo's remains but let his brother raise their daughter. Wang So knew and understood why the palace would have been a difficult place for her and he would not have been able to protect her like Jung could. That's why I have been looking for the continuation in the modern world in hopes that they both would find peace and happiness together.
what I hated about the ending is how selfish jung is, if only he was honest about the letter and that hae soo wrote it, then there would still be a chance for wang soo to say his proper goodbyes to hae soo 😭 that pissed me off 😡😓
I think So was on a path to becoming a Tyrant either way at first once he got power. He as very suspicious of everyone, didn't hear any of what Hae So was trying to tell him. He was drunk with power-especially when he slept with his half sister via marriage ect. It is only when he could not attain everything (Soo) and lost the true love/family that he understood. His fathers words come back to him. Hae Soo's words come back at him. At first he was bitter, but its all misunderstanding he created out of his own greed and selfishness. He can totally see this in hind site. He understands why Soo left, Why she married Jung, and why they pretended. He should have known his half sister was a greedy woman and even how much she hated Hae So and would do her harm. He even starts by seeing his daughter and trying to take her on the spot from Jung. His sole reason for not being a tyrant was Hae Soo's wish for him-her impact on him-and in the end his better choices. He LISTENED to her in death and honored her wish-he understood her the most THEN. If she hadn't died, none of this would have worked. I don't think Jung was wrong or selfish for loving her-she rushed to save him at least twice and he just fell for her. The letters were an honest mistake or misunderstanding and to protect her. There was no ill will there just fate. Hearing that it was Soo's last wish to protect the child resonates with him-like full circle. He knows Jung would protect the child-as he had been because he heard that promise too that Jung made to Soo. Seeing how much Jung has done for him in silence, he sets him free and bestows the greatest act of selflessness he has until now to his brother and daughter. I don't think he did this mostly for Jung at all. He just knew Jung would protect her. Only then was he selfless to let Jung raise the child and respect Soo's wishes. Soo also knew the queen told her she can be a mistress but not have any kids or marry him. I think she took this to heart to protect her child. So kept insisting they marry and have kids...he wasn't listening to her at all. In the end, when he did, he protected everyone. "Is it wrong to want to live..."
when Jung and Soo talk about past memories (when everyone was alive and episodes made us laugh) i cried extra remembering all of them my goodness we need a season 2

This was too sad to watch even though it’s been years since the drama ended. I don’t think I could actually sit and watch the real thing. Not for a long time anyway. It still feels fresh for me. Honestly, this drama is great because you can understand both characters. Hae Soo left the palace because it was a nightmare. She lost most of the people she cared about there, half of them turned on each other. As she said, every day is walking on thin ice. I guess the man she loves giving an order to beat to death someone she considered a younger sister was the last straw... He is a king and is bound to make cruel decisions, however, Hae Soo can't and doesn't want to watch it unfold. She still loves him, but as she said if she was to live in such misery their love wouldn't last and would turn into despise. Because that world is cruel. None of the couples got a happy ending, literally not one :\ She realized she can't be happy in that place AND (tbh they should've focused more on it) she knew she was pregnant and did not want her daughter to grow up in such a place. Also, Wang So wouldn't let her go that easily, the only way to get out was to "throw him away". And for Wang So... Well, in the end, he couldn't have both the throne and Hae Soo. The theme of the monarch sacrificing something was present from the very beginning. He was also quite greedy, for both the throne and Hae Soo, no matter how you look at it. Unlike Wook, however, at one point he had both. Throne and Hae Soo, and she loved him STILL even after she left. She wanted to throw away the palace, not him, but Wang So couldn't see it. There are so many interesting themes and the characters are so well written T__T

This is history lesson, as to rewrite history or perceive history in its own opinion with many claiming their story to be the correct consequences that has taken place, Gwangong, the fourth king was opinionated from a tyranny to a humble ruler at the end. It encourages us to gain more knowledge before being judgmental of someone's or other's history and get sentimental which can lead to a sad end. Btw, good performance for the drama, almost stage-like.
Forget the history, this is indeed one of the most beautiful and must watch KDramas! I am not a fan of idols turning into actors/actress, but I became one after seeing how IU portrayed her character here. I strongly disagree for those who are saying IU is a miscast. No hunnies, the role and storyline was totally made for IU to take the lead. Aside from her chemistry with all the male leads in this drama, IU's acting is excellent. I am not an expert but for watching KDramas for more than a decade now I can easily tell if the actress is fit for the role. Yeah IU may not be a best actress and her acting might be in an average level, but I couldn't even imagine other actress taking the lead in SHR. IU's character might be annoying at some points here and the storyline of the drama might have holes, but still you can't invalidate how good this drama is and how brilliant IU's performance. Hae Soo is naive, immature and a damsel in distress, so IU have to act like a naive and weak girl here. Some people are judging her as an actress just because of her character here and how she portrayed Hae Soo, yeah her character being Hae Soo maybe a bad character with no development at some points but IU isn't a bad acting. She portrays all her characters (including in her other dramas) very well. With her right amount of emotion, she won't mind crying a river and it's so natural. And the what I liked most about IU being an actress is she doesn't pick a drama with a cliché and poor storyline. Her dramas were being criticized but no one can deny how unforgettable the dramas where she is the female lead character. She's better than the other actress out there that only takes drama that they can be just a mere pretty lady. IU is really diverse and I am rooting for her to do more dramas. Yeah she wasn't the best but the dramas she picked is damn unforgettable, relatable and tear-jerking. I love all her dramas, I hope one day she'll also be paired up again with any of her male leads here, epecially Jisoo. She'll be a great actress just wait and see. 💗
Scarlet heart was the turning point of IU's acting career. In 2017 when the news of She participating in My Mister came there was a huge backlash not only for her previous acting but also for big age gap between lead but after the drama released we can see the new depth of IU's acting as a top actress, My Mister turned out to be the huge success for all of it's cast, she broke the image of idol actress and became nominated for best actress award in Baeksang along with veteran actress which is like Oscar in Korea. She became the first idol actress and the youngest actress of all to be ever nominated in that award which showed her level in acting. Then for Hotel Del Luna she beacome one the legendary character of Kdrama history and again nominated for best actress award. Now her acting has been very much better and is critically acclaimed and praised since My Mister, Her role as Haesoo even though had been avg in the beginning but with increase in episodes she had been always better than previous episode and from half to the end she had done very good performance, we all can feel her, her pain, sadness, cry, memories and no one can deny it but still her being a singer many couldn't agree with her as idol actors and actresses image was worst that time but her performance from half to the end was on level of true, best performing actresses that time too. Her acting career has been like her singing career too, she has always challenged and taken risks and experiments in every projects and have nailed it everytime, imprinting her mark in her characters whom we can never imagine any other person can fill like her.
Forreal, I especially agree with you mentioning she had chemistry with all the male leads, even the platonic relationships portrayed were oozing with chemistry. I don't think many actresses can pull off having chemistry with 5 different male leads in one show.
IU is the most beautiful actress/singer. Over the last 10 years she has managed to remain one of the influential celebrities in South Korea. No one could have done a better job playing Hae So.
It hurts me alot when Jung asks Hae Soo if in the next life she will remember him then Hae Soo's response is 'no' even in dream . He also loves Haesoo very much .
When I get asked if SHR is a good drama to watch, I really think hard before I answer. It matters who asks because I need to make sure they can handle how the story ends 😉

I cried so much watching the last episode today! I binged the entire series in one day! Hae Soo and Eun’s deaths rocked me to my core. I really hope they do another series in modern day times
Crying my heart out for Wang So and Hae Soo. Their last happy scenes are just so heartbreaking. With her being alone in the modern era and remembering everything and everyone is just torture. I need closure. I need a season 2 with all of the same characters but in the modern era.
I literally can still remember how i desperately searched for happy endings on other dramas after i watched two i was able to forget this ending but I'm still not over it. I MEAN, YALL SAW HOW SPECIAL SHE WAS TREATED IN THE PALACE, NOTHING FORMAL, that's what I'm looking for in historical dramas, how they treat the woen they love differently. BUT SO JUST HAD TO GIVE UP ON HER SO EASILY. AH BYE, I'M NEVER GONNA STOP HERE IF I DON'T LEAVE NOW ㅜㅜ
This is one of the most heartbreaking kdrama series I've ever watched, and at the same time, a favorite. I've been rewatching this series a lot of times, but, I always stop before I could get to the last episode. I just think that I couldn't bring myself to watch the finale again because it will hurt me, once again. I do hope for one last special episode that would give me closure to move on with So and Hae Soo's story. But I think that it would defeat the story's purpose. The painful ending is what made Scarlet Heart Ryeo exceptional. If it didn't ended like that, it would be pretty much the same with other korean historical dramas. This is just my opinion, tho
Truly a great Kdrama story. You get attached to the characters instantly . Then you live all their emotions as you laugh, love and cry with them. Never cried so deeply and sorrow fully as I did with the story. I was glad I was alone when I did so I could let the tears flow.
Wang So and Hae Soo will be remembered for their unconditional and beautiful love story ❤ the fact when Hae Soo sees Wang So's picture in Museum in modern world, she cries a lot as she is missing him 😭 and the way Wang So says "I WILL FIND YOU EVEN IF YOU ARE FROM DIFFERENT WORLD, they both stole our heart ❤ and he became a great king which kingdom actually needs. Drama was all about So-Soo couple ❤
I just need 5 or 10 minutes of the movie to show us that So and Soo are meet in the present day so we can think they'll find their own happiness (i don't care if So weren't be able to remember Soo as long as Soo remembers him, maybe when Soo works on the cosmetic store So will come as customer and they finally meet) we can imagine ourself what's the ending would be like. The producer or promotions team should've known the drama got low ratings week by week while the drama still on running, so why don't they change the ending if they've known there'll be no season 2 (maybe because there's no budget or afraid the season 2 will also get low ratings) or maybe they can put special episode at the ending. I really need to watch and see that Wang So and Hae Soo finally get their own happiness in present day after all they've been through (ups and downs, sadness and a lil bit of happiness). They really DESERVES that kind of happiness. That's all i need!! 😭😭😭
I feel you girl, we really deserve a happy ending for both of them. That's why we're starting to send request to Netflix. Since Scarlet Heart become an international success. Who knows they might fund the Season 2. Watch this video to know how ruclips.net/video/0YQaThZRKPM/видео.html
I want an ending where the original king from the past finds his way into the future... Wang So was just so lonely, I want him (not his reincarnation) to find his happy ending in the modern world ...
Hae Soo's death was actually the saddest for me. First she was not held by So during her last moments knowing that she longs for him the most. And when Jung told her that she'll eventually remember them, she said she will not and she does not want. That she wants to forget everything that happened to her, cause she lived and died with nothing but all traumas and heartaches. Even if all she ever did was to help everyone around her but no one could help her even in her last moments
I feel bad for the baby that didn't even get to know her real father. If only the princess isn't greedy then Hae Soo The Emperor and their baby must've been a Happy family before she died I'm so depressed after watching this
I think as long as she lives in The Palace, there will be no happy ending. The lives in the Royal Palace, from what I have learned, would always be tragic. It's always like that, whether it's Greek, Roman, Egypt, Japan, or Korean. Probably the ending will not be that sad if Hae Soo lives with her baby, or at least when she returned to the present, she could never remember the past.
We are still pining for that Season 2 after all these years. This means it did well globally despite poor ratings in Korea. Why can’t they just do a 1 episode to thank us patient fans?? Whyyy? 😭😭
gosh samee I watched this drama last year(got really reallyyy reallyyy sad)and even now I just can't bring myself to watch any kdramas. Even CLOY was so popular, I didn't watched it
@@thaliaelyse8576 CLOY is a therapy for your traumatic experience from this Scarlet heart drama..... in CLOY you can laugh a lot, though you will cry too but the ending is lovely.... and if the SK government did not prohibit them for showing the full final episode it should be a lot happier because in the original version they got married and have twin daughters, but unfortunately it was cut and not been aired because the people from South are not allowed to get married under their Laws to those from North, so they have to edit it or else they will be summoned in Court..... But still the ending is also good 😀😍
OMG SAMMMME I ONLY GOT BACK INTO KDRAMAS THIS YEAR!!! After Scarlet Heart aired I watched Goblin.. it was like double kill got my heart and soul. Nothing will ever top this 😭🤍
Yooo this drama killed me he lost most of his brothers just 3 are alive and not very happy. The love of his live is dead and he married this mean Bitch, he is so lonely. I could never rewatch it
Same here. After so many years, i am still unable to bring myself to rewatch this drama. It was just too painful to watch the ending. And suddenly this video was recommended to, i know i shouldn't watch it but i did and it reopened some old wounds. I need to cleanse this sadness with some happy ending dramas.
Honestly as much as I really want a closure for this show, I feel all the beauty is exactly here. Because let's be real, in real life miscommunication does get us in these places. Real life usually doesn't have a happy ending. And even if everything went well between them, Hae Su would've still died of her heart illness which is still a sad ending. I think all of us are so attached to this show for lots of reasons of course but the biggest is exactly this ending.
Exactly this drama is a tragedy making it memorable. Despite the excessive buckets of tears I shed, I still remember it thanks to the drama pulling my heart strings.
Wang So and Hae Soo will be remembered for their unconditional and beautiful love story ❤ the fact when Hae Soo sees Wang So's picture in Museum in modern world, she cries a lot as she is missing him 😭 and the way Wang So says "I WILL FIND YOU EVEN IF YOU ARE FROM DIFFERENT WORLD, they both stole our heart ❤ Drama was all about So-Soo couple ❤
i agree with you. even tho i really hoped for a happy ending (and i still do) maybe that was a better way to end it (i think i read somewhere that writers wanted us with that sad ending to really understand that is an end and that we need to move on…). and about Hae Soo illness. that is so well said. i mean even if it was happy ending she would died. because she never died in her real time, she just went into coma… so this really was the best way to end the drama and it is a happy ending for our beloved Hae Soo & Wang So. i just hoped they found a happiness after all…
I agree that it still would've been a sad ending. What made it even sadder was the fact that he never got to visit her until it was too late and also that they left each other on bad terms (their last moment together).
@@johndoe5346 fr… its just too much pain to carry. but at least we all get to experience this masterpiece . its one of my favorite historical/romantic dramas and will forever be!
I was like depressed for a month just because of this ending, in a way where they both part but happy memories made it sadder even more. Shet. SEASON 2 PLEASEEE JAEBALLL
Thanks for making me rethinking and understanding slowly about this drama, eventhough it's tragic but now I learnt, this actually was a 'real' beautiful ending. She returned to where she belonged (and live), succeeded in preventing the King became tyrant as well this told us, there were always sacrifices needed, to create better history.
How did I get to this page , I was looking for IU singing Santa tell me by Arianna Grande . And this shows up ... Now I'm crying again relieving the time I watch this series ... It's still heart breaking til now 😭😭😭

Why couldn't they have ended it better, this was so heartbreaking. Just bring back an after movie, another travel through time so it can end with them together. This is why I'm so very picky about historical dramas, I have to be sure they have a happy ending, or I won't watch them, there's to much sadness in this world already.
@@chacastronuevo7439 Ohhhhhhhh, you had to spoil it lol. I still think they should take some history and change it up. Lol, thank you, I never thought to look it up because it was a time travel.
2021 still watching this kdrama. We are still waiting for Season 2! The best squad ever!!! Lee Joon Gi is one of the best K-actors! Thumbs up for doing a great job. I also love his Flower of Evil! One of the masterpiece of 2020. Most of the Underrated Kdrama series was the best and worth watching!
Just seeing the picture of Wang So alone in front of the palace and Hae Soo crying and saying 'I'm sorry I left you alone again' just breaks everything in me, I feel so sad that I may throw up.
Everytime I watch another Kdrama, in the back of my mind i'm like "Wonder if they'll ever be a season two for Scarlet Heart Ryeo." Hands down still my best kdrama/a k historical drama I've seen.
It's been 4 years since I watched this show...still haven't gotten over it. This video brought back so many memories and it made me cry so much...Thank you for making this
Oh my goodness! I loved this drama; I remember back when they showed it, everyone wanted the next version and maybe if we wrote letters they would. I think at that time, brother #8 was going into the military, and much talk about all their schedules. I just found music of this drama that I had saved on RUclips. Then I found clip. I think that my favorite scene will always be when So holds his cape over her in the rain as she cries and calls for the king. He was the only brother who went to her. He was still wearing his mask. I cried so hard. It's nice to see others over this drama.
can't stop watching over and over. Season 2--- another world, another time to fulfill Prince So and Su love and live happily aver after.. Congratulations to all the cast and people behind the camera. Another work of art.🌞💙
A very nice summary. The writer of the drama is quite exceptional, the director justified every scene and the cast of characters are superb especially Lee Joong Gi and IU. Waiting for the sequel.
Technically, how I interpreted the scene where Baek ah tells So he's seen to his last brother is about So dying, not Wook. Legend states that Gwangjong died on a day with a solar eclipse. It's why he's hearing Ha Jin/Soo's crying and the reason why everything is dark and grey and empty. He turns away from the palace because now he can finally leave and go to her. Solar eclipses are symbolic in this drama.
but if Wook, Won, Yeon Hwa, So had learnt the true extent of Hae Soo having heart disease & living in a short space of borrowed time from the doctor before she left the palace then they should had stopped with their schemes & let So with Hae Soo living in happiness & their baby instead of stressing her out & weakening her heart even more. Wook was selfish most of all.
@@annbower6278 Yeah, I doubt anyone could convince Wook to do that. He went through a lot of changes and lost a lot. He was in denial and was in a state of carelessness. If he can't have it, no one can.

That scene when they zoom in the paint and show him all by himself in front of the palace breaks my heart every time.

everyone says its such a sad ending for Wang So, but I honestly think it's way worse for Hae Soo.

Sadly, it was too late when Wang So took down his pride and understand what was Hae Soo was doing all along.
and she knew if she doesn’t leave the palace she’ll end up like Oh sanggong who lose her baby :”

He lost his brothers. He lost his love. He lost his daughter.
He lost a lot.
He lost his parents love as well
And literally everyone lost something, no one was happy, there was so much hate and dead and betrayal between everyone... it's was all too cruel...
I wonder is the baby inside Hae Soo womb is the King So’s baby??
:
It stays even deeper because it ended the way it did
I believe There was a clip where she got down crying and a man giving her a handkerchief... that was the king in his other life meeting her again. I understand painful poignant endings hit harder and deeper so they didnt put it in but as someone who rooted for their love i just wanted it in anyway.
Still. Inlove this kdrama
Where is this clip?

I watched and finished the Chinese original of this kdrama. The Chinese one has a season 2 that's why the ending seemed "open" compared to this.
🚨⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️🚨
I am assuming it is Wang So (in present era) who gave her the handkerchief in the deleted scenes, coz in Chinese ver, they met in the museum/qing(?) Dynasty convention, but the 4th prince doesn't recognize her, which is the transition between season 2
@itzlena me it's Bu Bu Jing Xin ☺
It was on the Chinese version.
One of the best kdrama of all times cry a bucket for this historical kdrama season 2 please ..watch this how many times already 😭😭😭
Who is the little child he talked is it baek ah daughter I mean why does she have her thing
Everyone literally left him all alone!😭💔
No family, no lover, no friends.
No wonder in the painting it was only him. because there was no one left back there in the palace cause everyone either left or died😭💔😭💔

I totally agree with this
true, most of us learn it the hard way. Therefore, it is wise to ask and not assume.

To me it was a classic example of "do not judge". You can't walk a mile in other people's foorsteps💓
EXACTLY! i don’t blame that much Hae Soo for her fate… but why didn’t she never ask? or he, Wang So.

Indeed🥰

None of the couples got a happy ending, literally not one :\
She realized she can't be happy in that place AND (tbh they should've focused more on it) she knew she was pregnant and did not want her daughter to grow up in such a place.
It really is

Now her acting has been very much better and is critically acclaimed and praised since My Mister,
Her role as Haesoo even though had been avg in the beginning but with increase in episodes she had been always better than previous episode and from half to the end she had done very good performance, we all can feel her, her pain, sadness, cry, memories and no one can deny it but still her being a singer many couldn't agree with her as idol actors and actresses image was worst that time but her performance from half to the end was on level of true, best performing actresses that time too.
Her acting career has been like her singing career too, she has always challenged and taken risks and experiments in every projects and have nailed it everytime, imprinting her mark in her characters whom we can never imagine any other person can fill like her.
Yea!!! And it's originally Chinese this was a great remake
Forreal, I especially agree with you mentioning she had chemistry with all the male leads, even the platonic relationships portrayed were oozing with chemistry. I don't think many actresses can pull off having chemistry with 5 different male leads in one show.
After reading this, i have so MUCH MORE respect towards IU!!!
I watched 12 KDramas so far, and IU is still my only favorite Korean actress.
The sad ending is what makes this show iconic. I would have forgetten as soon sa the show had ended if not for sad ending

It started from laughing with tears in my eyes to depressing from all the deaths and parting away.😭😭
It such an emotional roller coaster.

I loved that he was true to his heart in a way that never turned bitter because she didn’t love him that way
I just need 5 or 10 minutes of the movie to show us that So and Soo are meet in the present day so we can think they'll find their own happiness (i don't care if So weren't be able to remember Soo as long as Soo remembers him, maybe when Soo works on the cosmetic store So will come as customer and they finally meet) we can imagine ourself what's the ending would be like. 😭😭😭

If only the princess isn't greedy then Hae Soo The Emperor and their baby must've been a Happy family before she died
I'm so depressed after watching this
I think as long as she lives in The Palace, there will be no happy ending.
Whyyy? 😭😭

It's been years and I still can't move on with this drama. One of the best kdrama ever!!
I thought it was just my routine depression that kicked that week but seems like everyone who finished the show felt the same too.
Thanks for making me rethinking and understanding slowly about this drama, eventhough it's tragic but now I learnt, this actually was a 'real' beautiful ending. She returned to where she belonged (and live), succeeded in preventing the King became tyrant as well this told us, there were always sacrifices needed, to create better history.
i can't still seal the wounds it's been 4 years, we've been waiting for 4 years, just to get over the pain of this drama.

Touch your heart
Hi, can you put up the link please?
Where can i read it?
Why couldn't they have ended it better, this was so heartbreaking. Just bring back an after movie, another travel through time so it can end with them together. This is why I'm so very picky about historical dramas, I have to be sure they have a happy ending, or I won't watch them, there's to much sadness in this world already.
Because this is a true to life story
@@chacastronuevo7439 Time travel is not a true to life story.
@@donnajohnson3792 the story of the king is true story that's why it was not a happy ending. Im not referring to the time travel.
@@chacastronuevo7439 Ohhhhhhhh, you had to spoil it lol. I still think they should take some history and change it up. This is the one historical drama I really hoped for a happy ending, I thought that would have happened with the travel in time, it didn't : (. Lol, thank you, I never thought to look it up because it was a time travel.
the king is based on real story... but hae soo never exist in real life
2021 still watching this kdrama.
🤯
that could be a good alternative ending
In this drama i feel sad for everyone including wook
but if Wook, Won, Yeon Hwa, So had learnt the true extent of Hae Soo having heart disease & living in a short space of borrowed time from the doctor before she left the palace then they should had stopped with their schemes & let So with Hae Soo living in happiness & their baby instead of stressing her out & weakening her heart even more. Wook was selfish most of all.
@@annbower6278 Yeah, I doubt anyone could convince Wook to do that. He went through a lot of changes and lost a lot. He was in denial and was in a state of carelessness. If he can't have it, no one can.
2016 was the best year for Kdramas!
What are your other recommends from that year?

I watched this kdrama only once. I believe, one heartbreak is enough to last a lifetime.
I like to imagine that Baek Ah made all the paintings to remember the good times they had together.
I loved this drama but I couldn’t let my heart go through it again. I want to rewatch it but I’m not brave enough. Once was enough.
Yoo i was literally so hung up on this drama when i finished watching it. Whenever i commute and a scarlet heart ost would play i would be silently crying. Btw all the osts from the drama are GOLD! This whole drama got me feeling some typa way
2016 and I still feel nostalgic. I think this drama will resonate within me forever.
in the original chinese version, the actor and actress of the main character got married and now they had adorable kids in real life.they got married in 2016 when korean version was done.
Even though I've known this 50/50 sad and happy ending story of moon lovers , the sad ending still wins my heart .
It's 2021 but I still long for season 2 and everytime I watch this ending I still cry.
This is one of the best Korean drama I've ever seen and is my favorite Koeran drama , like no matter how many times you watch it you still relate and cry
I could only watch and finish this show once. the ending was just too painful....it is now 2020. this appeard in my feed, and could not help but watch this and that immense pain is still as fresh. 💔 took me a good few minutes before making this comment. my eyes are still clouded with tears as I type this.
I guess nobody can ever really move on from this drama. and I agree, even just 1 more episode for closure may really help. 🌼 Jebal, I dont wanna cry endlessly for this everytime, anymore. 💔
