Its not only sad but infuriating to see what these old men do to desperately cling to the reins of power when they should be nowhere near any office where they have to make consequential decisions. Its not serving your country at that point, it's serving your ego (to the detriment of us all)

Of course the concept of greed is not unique to men- RBG didn't retire when she should have and we all know what happened there- but you can't argue that the vast majority of people who hold power in this country are old white men. Must be hard letting go of that sweet power.

Maybe eyes driven right, as well, to support left onset. Brief post ictal, as well, maybe neocortical. Also, given his hx of TBI, I'll bet his imaging is not normal, so he likely should have been on an anticonvulsant after the first one. Might be in that slow lamotrigine ramp now, and got caught. A lot of subtlety here that you may want to mention to viewers: if these are seizures, then if controlled no reason for him to step down. Fun fact, which you probably know, Chief Justice Roberts has epilepsy as well, it seems, but it's very hush hush about it.

When my husband's cancer spread to his spinal fluid, he experienced episodes like this. While he was still able to explain what it felt like, he said it was like being in a nightmare while you were awake and knowing you're awake. I knew it was seizures and not a stroke. People keep saying stroke but that looks so different, some people are saying dementia. I may have only a highschool education in regards to medical things but I remember seizures being covered in health class and staring off into space is definitely what some seizures look like. Glad I came across a video with an actual expert giving their analysis. Mitch needs to be pulled out of office asap. His term don't end till 2027. He's not going to make it that long and it's cruel to keep making him do this. Both him and Biden are not mentally fit for their jobs and what's happening to them is elder abuse imo.

Notice how he has a sudden abrupt change in his disposition, tightening of his lips, grip increases on the podium and slight right up gaze sustained. And a lapse in memory, complete freeze - and a return to “Okay” and doesn’t answer the question even after implying, to some degree, impaired awareness or ability to communicate.
He is not attempting to speak and fumbling on words or looking apprehensive that he can’t speak or is frightened - in which he would have intact awareness and worrisome face that he could not get the words out, as is common with expressive aphasia for instance or an MCA syndrome. Also notice he maintains good grip on the podium and his R arm doesn’t fall weak or anything nor does he develop a slight droop , in fact he puckers his lip up and has a sustained gaze.
Notice his gaze is directed to the R and not L, also possibly arguing against an oligemic process to the L MCA. He also has an abrupt return to mentation after and lack of awareness of what happened per se. He can still communicate ish which is not uncommon with focal seizures with intact awareness also.
Localizes likely L frontotemporal region. Focal seizure.
Agree with Doc O! Same, Neuro trained. MD

The ketogenic diet has shown promise in managing photosensitive epilepsy. This high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet has been used for many years to control seizures in individuals with epilepsy. It works by altering brain metabolism and increasing ketone bodies, which may have an anticonvulsant effect. While the effectiveness can vary, some individuals with photosensitive epilepsy have reported positive outcomes. It is important to consult with a healthcare professional or registered dietitian before starting any diet to ensure personalized advice and proper monitoring.

This is more than a theory, this is substantial evidence for seizure. Alzheimer's does not present with episodes of staring off and unresponsiveness; it starts with memory impairment and cognitive issues that continue over time. People who think this is Alzheimer's dementia are most likely not physicians. Not to say he could not have this as well, but it does not explain his episodes.

Back in the 1960s, one of my cousins with epilepsy had both petit mal and grand mal seizures. Twice the latter happened when she in the shower. The first time she was waiting for the hot water to come on and when it did, she had fallen down and couldn’t turn it off and was burned and required hospitalization. The second time she also fell down but this time she drowned. She was only 18. So this doctor mentioning showers was relevant.

You're a board certified neurologist and you used the word "spell" to describe a medical event. You must be seriously old-fashioned.

Generally physicians try to limit medical jargon when speaking to regular people. This is for a RUclips video not a patient presentation during rounds at a hospital.

We also use “spell” when we aren’t 100% it’s seizure and we don’t want to label it until we have more information. We also use it when we talk about non-epileptic events.
