  • A look at the gardens at Wrest Park, Bedfordshire.
Situated in the village of Silsoe, the Wrest Park estate comprises of a Grade I listed house, and eighteenth century gardens, which are also listed.
The current house was built between 1834 and 1839 by Thomas de Grey, 2nd Earl de Grey. Wrest Park was used as a military hospital during World War I, before later becoming a centre for agricultural research. The property was taken over by English Heritage in 2006, who restored the gardens to their former glory.
