ive spent lots of money on vst's..i have yet to find anything that sounds better than the Yamaha on the keyzone classic.. turn the release up a bit and its good to go.
I'm chuckling to myself, because the 4Front piano with no controls sounds the most natural to me. Runner up would be the Keyzone Classic. The over hyped, over complicated ones just miss the mark for realism in my opinion. Thanks for posting.
well, thanks for your comment, I also had the impression that this 4Front piano was actually really great. But it also depends on the other instruments you use in a song, sometimes it just does not fit. So I have around 25 different piano plugins and I sometimes still am not happy with how it sounds within the song.
If you can't be bothered going through the (free) checkout process for keyzone classic vst, here is a direct link: www.tbklub.hu/bitsonic/download/full/Bitsonic_Keyzone_Classic_x64.exe Personally though I wouldn't recommend such vsts, particularly for sustained chords as they don't sound good at all. I've had far better results with Soundfonts.
Neo Piano sounds the best, followed very closely by VSUpright, and then Keyzone in third place, but maybe that depends on which one of the three piano sounds you used for the last track? I would put 4Front in 4th place. The others sound very fake, like you're playing a cheap portable keyboard.
yes, the 4 front piano sounds very lively and the size is very small, it's great. but in this tool already added the influence of the environment (echo and modulation) which cannot be changed, in other plugins you need to add it yourself. As for the Piano One, this is the best for playing live on a midi keys, because it has pressure envelopes and octave accent distributions.
i will try to axplain! just download, run the installer, insert all of them in the same folder (vst) or maybe you click accept a couple times and its done. then in ableton you go to preferences, then PLUGINS, then the two options that saw something like: "use vst folder" must be ON! then you close that window, go to the principal screen of the DAW, click PLUGINS in the left bar and you will see three new folders called VST, your plug in must be there! Cheers
These pianos are good, but if you truly want a good piano sample use Piano in 162 by Ivy Audio, which is free. Combine that with a free sampler like an SFZ player such as Sforzando and you have a great sample.
Thanks. Until now we have done only FREE VST plugins without having to use tools like a SFZ player or any other host to load the sounds. We are planning to review the Sforzando soon.

You are probably just drawing in with piano roll. You need velocity changes, missed timing, chords etc etc. It's hard to tell exactly what you have going wrong. Not adding velocity variation is the most common problem with fake sounding piano riffs.
