Bought the 30 inch version from Home Depot a couple of weeks ago to replace a 36 inch Blackstone Culinary version I purchased from Lowes. The Weber is built like a tank once assembled . Side shelves are massive and the options to place other items on the right side are well thought out. Only been able to cook on it once so far but having the drip tray in the left front is nice.
This is on my short list for what griddle I'm buying to replace my Blackstone. Anxious to see how low you can set the temps at and how it compared to the Traeger for surface temp consistency edge-edge. Whats the burner system look like?
The optimized burn system enables the most even heat from edge to edge, precise temperature control from low to high, and provides higher heat for perfect caramelization.
They won't tell you because in all fairness, Flatrock is so much better. Flatrock uses U shaped with dividers. This will use straight tunes, like previous one
This carbon-steel cooktop is made differently than other griddles. It’s transformed under extreme heat and pressure that case hardens and bonds the surface - which reduces the ability for moisture to collect and rust to form. Then it’s pre-seasoned with food-safe oils that condition the metal for an extra boost of rust resistance and a natural, easy-release cooking surface right out of the box.
Hi Matt, It states that you should not close the griddle lid while the burners are on and I was curious what would happen if I were to close the lid to melt some cheese on a burger or something. Thank you!
Hi James, the lid cannot be closed on the Slate. We suggest using a Basting Dome such as this one: www.weber.com/US/en/griddle/griddle-accessories/6783.html
I'm trying to assemble the right hands side table and I can't figure it out. The instructions are not good. Any suggestions? There aren't alot of videos on how to assemble.
I went to Ace Hardware this past Thursday and ask them when the 36-in would be in stock. He looked up in his system and said he's getting one in the store Wednesday this week. So I pre-ordered it. Hoping to have it assembled and delivered this Thursday
You will need your infrared. The sensor is under the griddle, and will detect radiant heat. It won't be accurate. Plus the burners are straight tubes like previous model. Mediocre
Hi! Thank you for your interest! This will not be available in the UK. We will be sure to share your feedback with our team. Thank you for being a Weber fan!
I'm not sure if NG puts out enough heat for these to work well. I do have a flat top on my older NG grill, and it overall does ok--but propane puts out more btu's.
Hi! We appreciate your interest! We do not have any dates. Please sign up for our email updates. We will let you know when it is released. Thank you for being a Weber fan!
This works if you only use it sparingly, but if you use it a lot or are cooking greasy foods one on the grill all that grease leaks down and could ignite. I started with a griddle on my Weber grill and quickly realized it wasn’t going to work well long term.
Did anyone else’s griddle arrive with the box all ripped apart and scratches and scuffs all over? Not what I would expect for a $1,000 griddle…At the same time, you have to read the warranty. For the rust resistant griddle, the warranty does not cover…you guessed it, rust. That’s right, rust is not covered on the rust resistant griddle.
:)) Naw. I am waiting for my built in stainless steel (304) LeGriddle to arrive at my home in 2 weeks and counting!!!! I never want to screw around with seasoning like any blackstone type griddle that will still need seasoning in the long run. Oh and for those who say stainless steel doesn't hold heat..... you need to dig deeper into this one. It does and the cook will be an even cook. No cold spots and no warping. Gonna guess my comment doesn't stay too long here. Just a guess.
I would love a stainless steel LeGriddle, cooked on stainless in restaurants, loved it. Same size stainless grill is 4x what I paid for my Slate, not really comparable. My Slate delivered today. I’ll let y’all know how it goes. One thing….the damn thing is heavy, gonna need some help putting together. 😢 Built like a tank.
If your burners and heat distribution was better than Traegers, you would show it. But in no video or document do you specify burner design and layout. I suspect because its subpar to the Flatrock
Heat distribution on the previous griddle is better than the Flatrock, check the reviews. Even Flat Top King said nothing was more even than the Weber griddle.
I have the 28inch Weber griddle and it’s offensively bad. They totally lowered their quality standards. I used to be a big fan of Weber but NEVER AGAIN.
I bought a blackstone 36 from Costco. That thing was horrendous. None of the holes matched up for bolts. The screws came pre stripped or would strip by just looking at it. The worst thing was the griddle plate was warped so it was wabbling on the stand of it.

just picked up the 30 inch slate premium,. its a solid griddle. the tables are awesome and all the storage is great. so far its been great!
Can you tell me the size of the drip pan for your 30"?
Sure! The drip pan dimensions are: 2.5"H x 5"W x 11.1"D
wish all those extras came with it, make it worth the purchase.
thanks for sharing, I am leaning toward this grill for sure.
Looks awesome great job team Weber!
Can’t wait for Neil from The Flat Top King to review this one. Looks like a winner by Weber.
oh hes READY! He should be getting one in about a month or so and looking forward to hearing his thoughts!
Awesome! One of the very few you can trust to give an honest in-depth review. 👍Great choice getting him one! @@GrillwithWeber
He’ll pick the Traeger Flatrock every time!
Just ordered a 36-inch grill. Looking forward to getting it!
Nice job Weber. Looks awesome.
I sold my 28" weber griddle and I'm purchasing the 30" Slate my only concern is the pre seasoned griddle top, hope it is all that Weber says it is.
Where is the temp sensor actually located to determine what temp is being shown on the gauge?

@@micahroberts3564Too bad their grease trap is in the dumbest place possibe and they don't have a cabinet design.
Looks and seems amazing. I am curious what kind of magic was used to make any kind of metal "rust proof" though...

What’s the temp on low?
About to go buy this grill today!
Your old Weber flat grill was around 350 on low. I hope this one is the same.
Low heat would be 350-375. We're here to help you find the best grilling options!
@@GrillwithWeberwhy did you choose to make it hotter than your last version. That is what set you apart
Hi, Is it going to be available in the EU? If yes, when?
Hi! Thank you for your interest! No plans for release in EU at this time. Thank you for being a Weber fan!
Where is the nearest county where it is available? Is it/will it be available in the UK?
www.weber.com/GB/en/home/
Will there be a version with a side burner?
Beautiful grill! Ordered one yesterday.
I have the weber on order. Can you tell me the size of the drip pan for the 30" slate griddle?
Hi! Here is the link to the drip pans for that model: www.weber.com/US/en/accessories/grill-cleaning/drip-pan/6498.html
Hope this helps!
Any chance of a natural gas version for the 36"?
We are working on it 😉
Can anyone confirm if there is a natural gas option for the 30" or the 36"?
Hi! Thanks for your interest! We are working on natural gas for the future. Please stay tuned!
36” isn’t available until MAY? Is that correct?

No
@@micahroberts3564I just don’t understand what’s the point of having a cover on a cooking machine that you can’t use the cove while cooking!
Bought a 36” directly from Weber…has not been a good experience so far
Does it have the handy propane gauge like my Genesis?
A propane tank scale is included!
High heat for bacon or low heat for pancakes....but edge to edge even heat?
your still able to zone cooking if you turn 1 up and 1 down... thinks a little before you comment.

sadly the hood is just a fancy cover. Thought of a cooking hood.
You dont want that on a griddle, safety hazard, use a dome like intended
