Ironically, it might've been NordVPN that made you DC even though you had internet. :P If you're using the "kill-switch" setting on your VPN, it'll disconnect your internet completely if your connection to your VPN of choice loses connection. That's why I never used that option while playing on my HCIm.

What im trying to say is that the majority of players do have a stable connection, and implementing something like that for the few of you would ruin it for the lot of us. Dating a boss is a tough choice, and I suppose Seren isn't the worst option. I suppose the obvious choice are Twin Furies (because twins), Zilyana (we all know exactly why), and Nex (we've all seen the body pillow)
So you lose all your items when you die on hardcore? That's kinda dumb. If they wanted it to be harder mode you wouldn't have lives. But you should still keep your items..
I think Hardcore characters are done poorly in all games. There should be no lives to lose. You should always be hardcore. But your penalties should always be there when you die. Losing 1-3 random non-augmentable items when you die, for instance. Or having 1-3 random skills rolled back by 5 or 10 levels, or something like that. I do not think HC accounts in their current state make any sense in a world of random disconnections, unstable clients, unstable servers, etc. Losing the account (Diablo 4/WoW), or losing the status (RS3), to some server/network drop, is bullshit. I think the whole approach to HC accounts in all games is wrong. You aren't playing against your own skills and abilities. You're just a ticking time bomb waiting to be disconnected during a boss fight. And I'm not saying my solutions are perfect. But I do think you should always keep the HC status, and be punished in other ways. That would make so much more sense.
