in regards to the 86kg debate you guys had….Kind of bias selected the narrative. You said DT beat Brooks last year 5-4 but left out that he also beat him 6-0 the first match. If I recall correctly, the second match that was 5-4 was not really close till the end as well when DT took his foot off the gas. Listen Brooks is the man this year and that is that. I do however think it’s fairly accurate in saying that DT was a shell of himself in that best 2 of 3 compared to all past years including last. Now that doesn’t matter as far as Brooks being the man this year but when comparing Brooks to Yazdani there is an assessment to be made. You cannot tell me that DT, the most prolific scorer we have ever seen takes what …1 shot combined in two matches as he did vs Brooks? Plus does DT prior to this year get taken down by a high schooler, need a single pull to beat Zahid and get 4’d by Ringer ? Hell no. DT showed interest in coaching prior to the trials and it seemed as if he just showed up as is without much enthusiasm and drive but that’s not Brooks problem. Brooks is the man, but not sure how one can compare 2024 DT to any previous year DT.
Harutunyan is a sleeper I guess at 57kg hes won euros 4 years in a row and is a 2x world bronze. He lost to guchi 16-15 last year and is only 23 so is likely still getting better at a fairly rapid pace.
Best thing for Zain Train is to be drawn in on that top bracket. Ochir is up there but he has already shown that he is right there with him as he had the lead near the end. Zain techs Rivera if he faces him and dominates Tavanyan who won’t take a shot all match. Zain gets put in the top he medals. Get placed in the bottom then he will need to be near flawless just to medal.
It was not the same taylor just his body alone, shit brooks struggled with everybody else in the bracket even lost to zahid to me I could see if brooks dominated the whole bracket then beat a strong looking Taylor
In my opinion I think the David that showed up at trials may have gotten teched by yaz. One could argue that that controversial chest wrap double position not gone how it had yaz may have won last year at worlds. He definitely broke after that call did not go his way. I think Davids peak is maybe the best wrestler we have ever had and am an enormous fan but this DT we saw at trials was just not that dude from 2018-2022/2023.
Would be very interesting to see that match (Yazdani/DT) on that day and how it would go on that day. I still don’t think AB is getting enough credit for what he did. Conversation is very much on what Dave did/didn’t do, very what Aaron went out and did.
@@JustinBasch Aaron wrestled perfectly and I don’t care if it’s DT at 70% that dude is scoring on anyone besides maybe Yaz and Brooks. I think Aaron is very much the future and this could be the start of dominance For the next two cycles. It just felt like the initial stigma was Aaron beat DT so he’s going to win the Olympics and I’m just not sure I’m on that boat yet but I would be absolutely thrilled to be proven wrong.
I don’t fully disagree with you, but I don’t think AB is getting enough credit for what he did. It seems to be more that David didn’t show up vs what Aaron went out and did.
Love the show and I'm a big fan but to be honest this episode is a little bit disappointing. Feels like it's 80% gambling and 20% wrestling. I'm really hopeful that once the bracket comes out, you guys can actually talk about the sport of wrestling itself. Enough nonsense of betting odds.
We talk a lot of wrestling throughout the year, it’s fun now and then to touch on betting odds when they’re available! I understand it’s not for everyone, but also hard to please everyone. Appreciate you tuning in!
Nobody is beating The Spencer Freakin’ Lee!!!

Don’t sleep on Zhamalov at 74kg.

Im all in on Zain!
That Ochir Aliyev match was something else. Pretty funky ending with singlet pull. Ochir was the better wrestler.
I need to go back and watch it again.
Still can’t find where to bet on draft kings
DraftKings only has lines in some states, BetOnline.ag seem to have them available everyone.

So, is Yazdani your pick?

I was there at Olympic trials.. DT didn't compete all year... And when he came out.. immediately I thought he was losing.
Basch you are so wrong about Taylor. That clearly wasn't a normal Taylor.
