Agnetha you are soooooo beautiful! Bjorn's loss. We can and should never judge anyone's marriage or relationship. Wishing you and your children beautiful peace and health and safety 💜
I've recently been reappraising Abba & the work after Abba. Agnetha waited17 years before going back to the recording studios & it's taken me till today to find her astonishing version of this 60s classic. Lush orchestration, the voice of an angel & in my humble opinion we need more of these gems recorded by this lady.
Full respect and appreciation for the Gentlemen of The Searchers, no discussion. A legend already from the start. But maybe a polite dinner invitation for Mrs. Agneta Fältskog would also be appropriate? Conduct yourselves accordingly Sirs! Please.
This was "our song" for my wife and me, my wife gave me the best 20 years of life. We player the The Searchers version at her funeral as the curtain closed around her coffin, aged 41 in 2019. Cancer finally beat. My wife would have loved this version by Agnetha.
This a beautiful song with a nice melody and even nicer lyrics. It has been sung by many big names in the music industry. You and your dear wife must have shared a great love to have played this song at her funeral. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you're doing well, peace and good wishes to you. God bless.
It was actually written and performed first by Jackie DeShannon back in 1963 , originàlly as a B side .. but the Searchers did a really good cover of it in 1964... and now Agnetha has made a fantastic job of this version. Agnetha has a look and smile at 0.40 in that video that could melt anyone's heart !
I was a 60's DJ on a Rock FM station in PA. Even though I loved the Searchers and Jackie DeShhanon, I wish I had this version to play. My listeners would have loved it too! Go WSVB!

No one...and I mean no one...can sing like this girl. Agnetha Faltskog does any song better than anyone else. No matter the song, Agnetha stirs the emotions like no other singer ever could. A fabulous singer, yes, but she's also the sexiest, most beautiful woman on the planet. As you might guess, I love Agnetha Faltskog
As beautiful as Agnetha Fältskog was (and still is), may I suggest that you listen to Jackie deShannon who wrote the song in 1963. There’s a great black & white RUclips video of her singing the song in a discotheque (Yes! I am that old.) She has that sweet Appalachian type voice and a demeanour so sweet, you would want to hug her. Indeed, there is a split second in the song when she comes in a little bit early, and gives a coy smile when she recognises her mistake. She was not only a talented singer but a great song writer too. I don’t know whether or not you have heard the song Bette Davis’ Eyes, but if you have, I guarantee that you’ll be thinking about Kim Carnes who released the song in 1981. Well, that song was not only written by Jackie deShannon in 1974, but she sung it as well. However, her version was more in the flavour of Boogie. I do think Kim Carnes’ version is better, I may add. Anyway. I hope I haven’t bored you. I hope you look up Jackie deShannon. She was not only a wonderful singer and song writer, she was also a pioneer for women on the musical scene.
I also noticed this smile: it's fantastic! But how many sweet, nice, dazzling and even sad expressions this splendid woman has given us in all these years, even today that she is 72 years old she is beautiful!
BELLA CANCION BELLA AGNETHA PERFECTA PERFECTA , ESA VOZ ANGELICAL QUE PUEDE CANTAR TODO TIPO DE ESTILOS MUSICALES MAS SU BELLEZA PERSONAL Y SU BELLEZA COMO MADRE Y COMPAÑERA , GRANDE AGNETHA!!!!
Jackie DeShannon wrote a great song -- THAT is why it's still being covered. And as long as you sing the right tune with the right words, it's cool. No one's version is the 'best' -- they're ALL good, cause no one covers a song they don't like! Jackie's is the original, but best is in the ears of the hearer.
Me too ! Ohhhhh, OMG.....it was about 1976 so 33 years have passed by since I fell for her and I STILL have the most massive crush on her....... I was 27 then. Could she have been about 22 in 1976 ? if so, I guess that might make her about 55 now.
Agnethe was the most perfect woman of all time, I totally love her! 😍 And this is he first song I’ve heard where the cover is better than the original.
Agnetha made over 50 version's of this song , such is her love for great music! and she really did justice to this track each time! But unfortunately the Record Company done bad and took all the video's of her take's off You Tube, I was lucky to catch them wish I had saved them! xxx Agnetha
What a FANTASTIC video, the first i've seen in widescreen on YT. ABBA gave us such lovely songs, so to ABBA THANKYOU FOR THE MUSIC. Thankyou meehall21 for sending my way. Thankyou mauvetys for a thumbs up 5* upload. Geena
+Joe G The Original and Best Version is by Jackie DeShannon who also Wrote the Song. She also sang Needles and Pins and The Searchers also had a hit with it. She never got the Recognition that she Deserved
Poor Agnetha...so much pain.....losing her mother in suicide....jumped from the balchony at her home in Jonkoping in Sweden.......I see no reason to conceal this terrible fact......maybe this information could get people who has critizied her for "hiding from public" to comprehend that she strives with sorrows.... beautiful rendition of this song.....
onlinelondon...I've searched Agnetha's personal, but never found the suicide you mention. Thanks for the info...I appreciate any and everything I can learn about Agnetha. I'm guessing you love her as much as I do...she's my hero, my idol, and if you know her "story," you can easily guess why. Thanks again.
shame on me, calling myself an ABBA diehard, never heard this title from them till today...beautiful indeed. Agnetha and Frida, Bjorn and Benny still great juz like only yesterday!!!
You wouln't have heard it unless you kept tabs on what Agnetha was doing AFTER ABBA had disbanded ..... this song was on one of HER own albums released then , and not on any ABBA's.released as a group.

The smile from Agnetha on 40 seconds has to be the one that would melt any mans heart - the most beautiful ever . xx

Jackie was as good a song smith in the early sixties as anyone. Should have gotten credit for Needles and Pins too but women got cheated back then.
I like jackies original, this one and Bruce Springsteens cover best.
This song was written by Jackie DeShannon who also wrote Put a Little Love in Your Heart. It was also performed so well by the Searchers.
Thank God for her!!
Jackie DeShannon nailed it,others follow.

Gerade neben Dir stehend
Hoffend, dass Du siehst, wie ich mich bemühe
Neben Dir stehend
Really charming song
