This was beautiful. Tears for me as I remembered my husband who died 5 1/2 years ago. A few times for our wedding anniversary he would pick a special song and play it for me on the piano and sing to me. He sang me this song one year. He was a well loved Pastor and a talented pianist. I use to joke when people asked me what talents I had as a pastors wife by saying " I am simply someone in the audience". He, on the other hand was always so supportive of me and quick to point out I was the 'wind beneath his wings '. He was my wind too. I miss him every day. I am learning to trust the Lord to give me the updrafts I need without my hubby beside me. He is faithful. Thank you for a sweet memory with this song
My wind beneath my wings is my daughter with autism. She is so outgoing smart brave and courageous. She pushes back against a society where special needs adults aren’t seen or heard.
God's blessings to you and your daughter. Autism is something certain individuals think it's a bad thing. But in reality individuals with autism are more likely to be smarter in more ways than someone without it. I've worked with individuals with autism and the things they can do and the challenges they're able to overcome definitely puts them in a class that only God could create with His expertise. This had me in floods of tears! My Mum used to play this song when i was little. I've been missing all the people from my childhood very strongly today for some reason, and especially my parents. Beautiful as always AND... I sometimes miss the early days when there was low to no production. Just a dad and his daughter singing sweet harmony together.....so pure, intimate and heartfelt. It really drew me in and often moved me to tears. I'd love for them to occasionally record a song without the big production sound/look....and let their beautiful spirits and voices shine through in a simple, unadorned way.
