So happy to see a new video! Winter is hard for me too (upstate New York). I try every year to embrace it, but it's so hard. I always say I can deal wirh the cold as long as I have sunshine! When it gets dark at 4pm, I just want to sleep and it's hard getting up in the dark! The squirrel was so adorable! Love your journal idea, can't wait to see whenever you share it! Your Black Bird song is beautiful! Perfect blend of dark into light! Stay warm & cozy!🌞🩷🌻🦋

I think this is maybe why people don't like the dark, because they didn't learn how to see the beauty in it.
I am pretty much raised this way, in the woods, by candle light and coziness, so I love the darkness the most and think there is nothing more beautiful then candle lights in the dark. I am gonna miss it, but I love the sunny days and like my mother said: "summer is the vacation you love to visit but winter is home."

the story in the beginning really resonated to me. I have felt the same this winter but a few days ago I forced myself to go for a walk and a hummingbird was in a tree near by. I learned that they actually have a song which I didn't realize after two years of watching them. Now I know they are around without seeing them first.

I find it hard to celebrate Imbolc as the return of the light and the arrival of spring because here, the period of Imbolc is the period everything is covered with snow and it's freezing cold outside. Instead, I approach it as a way to say thank you to Winter and its faes. Winter is a time of self-reflection for me. I usually love walking around in the dark with a cup of hot coffee or chocolate in my hand and gazing the snow covered mountains that surround me, admire the bare trees and feel the chill winds on my skin. During this time of the year, nature reminds me that death is an important part of life. We need to die to be reborn. We need to be patient to be able to re-enjoy the sweet summer weather.
I love Winter because of the wisdom it has gifted me throughout my entire life. I come out of every Winter as a better more wholesome version of myself.
Happy Imbolc, Alwyn. Thank you for spreading positivity and warmth during this harsh and dark time. 💙

🌲🍀🐾🐿so cool, how your forest witche's grimoire 📜 becomes "magickal" as soon as you start writing & drawing in it. This is from a true connection between one's Heart and Nature, or what is known as "G L A M O U R Y" or "Magick of the Celtic Green World" (a book by Steve Blamires) which you probably knew already. We all have "this connection". I found mine while fishing & wading through streams🎣. Nice finger decoration(stone)by the way🐦📖🔖💚🐾🍀🌲.

Love everything about this story! So glad you listened when the woods called Alwyn to go outside and how what she was drawn to sketch ended up containing a hidden message for her and helped her to complete her piano composition! The piece turned out lovely, a bit dark and broody to start, but then with a quickening and the promise of brighter days 🐦🐿🐝😊

Alwyn, you are so creative! Thank you for sharing such unique videos and giving us a peek into the ways you gain inspiration and manifest them into art. I loved the way we got to see you experience the lessons/associations of Imbolc in real time through a story, instead of just telling us what they are (there are plenty of other videos for that).
The piece you wrote is stunning as well - I loved the tension and interplay between F major and minor throughout. The arpeggios in the left hand gave such a feeling of rootedness and memory, and yet the modal mixture and chromatic explorations up in the melody gave me a sense of sparkling snow and filtered light, with a hint of spookiness. What a perfect setting for Imbolc, where we are still in the darkness of winter and yet we can see and trust that the brightness of spring is not too far away 💛

I love how you saw the black bird - I just has a black crow visit in my front yard yesterday and this NEVER happens. A beautiful synchronicity and it just means we are all connecting to the darker goddess aspect of ourselves. Feels good 🖤

Still not a fan of the cold but there was something about standing in my yard after a ton of fresh snow last week here where I am and seeing how it hugged all the empty trees and their branches in my yard. It was oddly quiet except for my bird friends. I trekked out there to fill their feeders and felt grateful ⛄️❤️. I wouldn't call myself a pagan or a witch, I don't think - I don't believe in gods either - but what I do believe in is the beauty of birdsong and the sky and the stars and buds and flowers and leaves, and I'm excited to continue on my journey to understand myself alongside nature with the help of your beautiful, calming, informative, and inspirational channel - it's very welcoming and validating, as I often feel like an imposter in spaces like these. We're part of nature, even though many think we aren't. Everything has its time. To be quiet, to be observing instead of acting is just as valuable. We should accept us to be that way. A very nurturing video! A gift to us all. My theory on the living ferns…the decay and composting around them generate heat helping them out in the cold…lucky ferns.

This was beautiful, thank you so much ✨♥️ I feel like an odd one out because I will miss this season so much, I always think it goes so fast in the spring and when the light returns. I am gonna miss the dark and the cold, and we didn't get a real winter here in Sweden this time, just a bit of snow a few times that all.
I am not ready for spring, so I will relax and really embrace the dark and "cold" to the fullest now so I can be happy about spring. I think this is the perfect time of year, birds singing and when the sun is out it is lovely 💓

Same. I love the comfort of warm homes, and cold early nights. Where I live, climate change has hit hard. January and February are the coldest months we can expect and it was so disheartening when the weather jumped up to nearly 80 degrees (26.6 C) before the end of February. It will only get warmer from here on out, the winter gone literally overnight. For several years now, we literally only get 2 months of chilly weather and only 2 or 3 weeks of what we can call "cold" weather. And the rest of the year is almost endless with its warm, hot and hotter temperatures.

When I first started watching you (a long while ago), I always felt jealous of your beautiful house. But then I continued to watch your videos, and noticed how positive you always are. I let go of my unwanted feelings, and embraced my 'witchy life', even when I live in a place you wouldn't really call 'witchy'. 💚💙💜 Thank you for your videos :)
Btw my fav video that you have made is your 'crystal collection video' ✨ Could you do more crystal videos? Maybe a full video on some crystal meditation, or what crystals you recommend?? Don't feel pressured, just a suggestion ❤

So lovely! I’m soon to be 56 and for as long as I can remember, I have dreaded the cold, dark, grey of winter. I’m learning to honor it as a natural time of rest and not judge myself as lazy because of my struggle to keep up with the pace of the others around me. I also look to the birds, trees, and wildlife, oh and the fairies!Thank you for the beautiful video.
Also moss❤. Glorious beautiful moss! Do you know the book Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer? It’s on my list of books to read.
Be well, Love and Light to you.

Alwyn, SO Good to see you! You are such a Treasure, and more so right now. I can't begin to tell you how much your words & this video resonates with me. I too have been 'Hybernating' with the exception of feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks in my back yard and twice a day I go and feed some feral cats around my area. I've trapped, rehabilitated & rehomed many of them but I still have a few to rescue.
The best way I can describe the weather, life and myself lately is 'Dreary & Withdrawn' YUK!!! After feeding the feral kitties their breakfast I decided to walk a little bit & check out an area where I've found other feral kitties. The sun was Glorious & I could feel the warmth like a welcoming hug. Sure enough I spotted 2 feral kitties & left them some food. I have a satchel that I carry when I feed the kitties. So I will add this to my feeding stops until I can rescue them. I know in my Heart something was calling me to venture further & not just go home to my seclusion! While walking home I was amazed to see Beautiful bright green moss for this time of year and my Heart actually fluttered knowing the anticipation of spring & the birth of all its Beauty. I lifted a little bit of the moss and when I got Home, I placed it on top of the soil of one of my house plants to remember my journey. Your journal is Beautiful & Inspiring, perhaps you could share where you purchased it. The cover actually reminds me of your Enchanted Woods! As I said Alwyn, you are a Treasure & I savor your videos. Your words & videos are like food for the Soul. Thank you & Be Well, Blessings ❤️

Lovely video -- a dark time you moved through to reach a time of joy and appreciation. I'm going to try your protein balls, as I find that being outside in the cold makes me hungry too. The messages that developed from your journal were amazing. I love your beautiful music! I find that being out in very cold weather is challenging for about the first 20 minutes for me, but as I keep moving, I warm up. That's always nice. It's great to enjoy another of your videos! Thank you. 💗
