The lightswitch that went off in your head when you said "jam" while talking about the choc pb energy balls was priceless 😂
haha thank you, I had a moment
@@Simnettnutrition you can try melting a chocolate and dip energy balls. Then put it to the freezer and the chocolate will harden around the energy ball - it will be crispy :D
that was honestly so cute lol
lol, that was so funny 😂
Anything without chocolate....I'm here for!❤
I am a volunteer in a dance class for people who have Parkinsons. We take turns bringing snacks for social time after class. Last week was my turn and I made the lemon balls to share . Everyone loved them !
Needs to be the World's vegan advocate.
Omggg the carrot cake balls are to die for. After one taste I immediately made a double batch. I added 1 pinch of cardamom and nutmeg, and a TBS of maple syrup and it was just sweet enough and helped it bind a bit as well. It tastes almost like a baklava! Thank you!!
Ooh that sounds so good, I'm going to try that
Great idea! Love the spice additions

Your channel is a place I turn to when life has gotten rough, I've fallen out of self care, and I need inspiration and motivation to take care of my body and mind again so thank you for being around all these years! ❤
“The only thing I like more than getting out in nature is eating some tasty snacks”
lol where is the lie? :p
Derek! You have outdone yourself! That platter looks pretty enough to serve for Christmas. I may just do that this year.
That is quite the idea!
Oh that would be a great xmas platter! You could even add some holiday spices too if you wanted.
🎄 🌱 💪 😋
I like to roll energy balls in cocoa powder
Yes that's a great idea!
Powdered sugar is good too. Not a lot, just a tiny bit
Only Derek could impress me with energy ball recipes. He always puts in so much thought.
Derek's face when he thought of putting jam on the peanut butter ones! Priceless.
"JAM!!" 🤣🤣
crystal and derek are smiling all the time. happy people!
Exactly !?! I wonder what it is , because ppl aren't happy like these two people ❤❤Is it the carbs & fresh fruits ! It's like they have this life force unlike anything I've seen !
Often, I make beet balls with raw beets & dates as the main ingredients & roll them in beet powder & crushed Brazil nuts eaten as a dessert.
Oh those sound amazing
That’s delish sounding!
If creativity were a person, you'd be it! Well done, Derek! 🌰🌰
Definitely.
Derek never stops to amaze me too
I adapted the first recipe by using half the almonds (I have found too many almonds can have some kind of effect on my heart… And my husband has AFib so I’m cautious to not create tachycardia lol) and subbed 1/2 cup hemp hearts.
I don’t have majool dates so used half cup pitted dates and half cup raisins.
Also used grated ginger instead of candied ginger and added a light touch of local honey (could use maple syrup too)
The results are amazeballs!!
Just drove 3,000 miles and had made a big container of these. Learned them from you a while ago and have been trying different variations. My whole family loves them. Thank you for being an inspiration!❤
That's awesome! They are such a great road trip snack!
"Thats my jam" 😂 realizing jam would go good with peanut butter is priceless haha loved the video
Omg, thank you for putting the recipe in the description. That made it so easy 💛
They all sound yummy but I'm a total chocolate addict so the cacao cherry ones would be my favorite. Actually my very favorite combination is chocolate and orange, so my go-to raw balls/bars recipe is walnuts, dates, cacao powder and orange marmalade. These days I'm too lazy to roll balls so I pack the mixture into a square cake pan, refrigerate for an hour or two, and cut into squares. This way also gives me more consistent sizing for accurate nutrition tracking.
You should try the cacao nib ones if you like chocolate - they are not very sweet though! I did this on purpose, so it's more of a dark chocolate tase, you can sweeten them more if you need to (add some dates).
This is the way I do it to. So much easier and less time and mess.
This has been a fun project with my six year old! So far we have made three and they are so kid friendly!
"Got That Grip" lol, we can always count on you for the laughs😄 and Resourceful Recipes🤗
Okay, the ginger lemon ones sound AMAZING, such a great idea!
Agreed!
Making the Tahini Cranberry! Just taste it and oh my… sooo good! Looking forward to made the others! Thank you for sharing. You guys are awesome, love to see Crystal interacting in the video.
Definitely liked the video for you also would like to thank you for making it easier for us to take a screenshot of the recipes in the description box.
I already tried the lemon ginger and the carrot cake flavored ones and absolutely love them! New staples in our household! Thank you for sharing the recipes!
Normally I’d only go for snacks like these if they include chocolate but all of these flavours looked SO good! Definitely want to try the cherry ones ❤🍒
This is exactly what I needed. I moved 3 months ago and now I live close to the forest. This will be a perfect snack for my trips
Allergic to peanuts so I'll sub almond butter for those! And YES, JAM!!!!! A little dab of jam in the centers would make those PB&J or PPB&J (protein, peanut butter & jam!). yum!
Have you tried organic valencia peanuts/peanut butter? I'm quite sensitive to regular peanut butter. It is because of the mold/aflatoxins. (There was a triggering point, and after that I became hyper sensitive to it).
Anyways, valencia peanuts are usually grown in much drier climates than regular peanuts (usually grown in very humid climates) and thus tend to have much less mold and aflatoxin issues.
I spent years thinking that I would never have peanut butter again, until I saw some interesting websites talking about mold/aflatoxins and the differences between regular peanuts and valencia. So far I've tried two that don't bother me at all. Trader Joe's organic valencia peanut butter and Costco's organic valencia peanut butter. Valencia peanuts are most often grown in New Mexico, Texas, and Spain btw. (Regular peanuts usually in the deep south or in sub tropical areas).
@@justinw1765 Yes, I've tried natural peanut butter, that's the only kind we used to use. It started giving me hives. Not worth seeing if I have a severe reaction. thankfully I love almond butter too and not allergic to it.
@@womanofacertainage5892 "Natural peanut butter" can be made of regular peanuts _or_ valencia.
I'm talking only pure valencia. You're tried that and still get a reaction?
I also get a hive reaction with common, regular peanuts/peanut butter, even if it is "natural". This is why I took the time to type all that out. 🙄
*_It's not about the peanuts themselves, but about the mold/aflatoxins on/in same. Valencia peanuts often have even less mold/aflatoxins than even almonds, cashews, pistachios, and walnuts because they are grown in much drier climates than regular peanuts and some other nuts are._*
Note: many almonds are fine, because they too are often (but not always) grown in drier/less humid climates.
@@justinw1765 Yes, Valencia. If it was tiresome to type all that out, you needn't have, of course. Have a day!
Those look awesome. I'd probably make the cherry and dark chocolate first 😋 but I also want the peanut butter ones 🤤
Just made the "Carrot Cake Energy Balls", everybody liked them - o-u-t-s-t-a-n-d-i-n-g !!!
👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌
YUMMY😋😋😋... GUESS WHAT, I MIXED DIFF INGREDIENTS FROM THE 5 BALLS😲
LOVE THEM ALL!👏🏽👍🏽🌺☮️💟🌺
Thanks, Derek! I especially look forward to making the cherry + cacao nib ones! Yum!
Oh my goodness. I cannot wait to make these. Thank you for sharing your recipes and posting them in the description. It makes it so easy to follow. You are my favorite person to watch. Always delicious food and easy to make. God bless!
Absolutely love these ideas! I feel like those Cranberry Tahini ones would be great rolled in cinnamon! (OK, messy to eat, but worth it.) Also, I really think those Carrot Cake ones would be amazing with some of that crystallized ginger and a pinch of ground mace. One of my favourites to make uses roasted unsalted peanuts, Medjool dates, vanilla, smoked salt, carob powder, and vanilla. P.S. Derek, loved your jam idea!!
I loved these energy balls! I made the Lemon Ginger; however, I didn’t have the crystallized ginger so I added dried blueberries. For the Cherry and Cacao Nibs, I used sugar-free vegan chocolate chips and rolled them in cacao powder. The last one I made was the Carrot Cake balls. I added raisins and additional carrots. Excellent variations on the traditional peanut butter energy balls.
I love all your energy balls! Adding these to the list. How about a small ebook with just balls and bars?
I made the Lemon Ginger and Carrot Cake Energy Balls to take on a girl's day outdoor adventure at Indiana Lincoln State Park. Both are phenomenal! Seriously, super delicious and they come together so easily. There will now be some in my freezer at all times. Thank you for the recipes!
Pb energy balls: That's my jam. Wait.. JAM...💡🤯😂
I think your recipes are awesome. Thank you! Anything with cranberries I am there! ☮️👏👏👏👏
They are like Lara bars. Thanks Derek🎉🎉
Ah, so that is how to use a grater attachment. Thank you for the information, I have those attachments but haven't figured out how to place them. And of course thank you for the recipes, I will be taking some inspiration from these and perhaps making my own energy balls catered to my tastes.
Holy guacamole this was an awesome recipe video
Wow! I can't wait to try the carrot cake balls! I might try them with pumpkiin pie spice.
Love the Christmas in June vibes 😂💚💫
I only need to buy 3 ingredients to make them all, perfect video my friend!
Awesome! enjoy :D
Haha you read my mind! I’ve been checking out energy ball recipes this week. 👌🏻 Definitely going to try the peanut butter chocolate ones first.
Update - holy moly the choc PB are soooo bomb. I used “chocolate mylk” blessed protein powder and these are straight up decadent. 😋 Thanks Derek!
I already made the carrot cake and cranberry tahini ones and they are sooo good, but the tahini ones are the best, so so so good. So if you see this, say hi to Crystal and tell her 💜
You are such an inspiration to everyone eating healthy! I enjoy your positivity and humor! I look forward to your videos.
Just made the carrot cake ones. OMG. Fantastic, and no sugar. Win, win! I didn’t realize carrot is such a good binder. Thanks so much!
Can't wait to try all these recipes. I think will like the carrot ones since i have so much carrots i will not eat unless mix into something like energy balls. Thanks so much for this recipes :)
Note to self: "Don't watch Derek's videos after cleaning up the kitchen because you'll be cleaning it again." 😅 🙄
I made the carrot cake ones. I haven't really tried them yet. But, I did lick my fingers and they were yummy. I'm excited to try the other flavors in the near future.
For the first balls, can you use powdered ginger or fresh ginger instead of the sugar candy ginger?
No, the candied ginger is needed for texture and flavour.
This video reminds of that old SNL skit about Pete's Schweddy Balls.
I am going to make these for my snack attacks! I'm also going to make all of them for the holidays; then I'm going to put them on my pyramid cupcake stand because they are so pretty.
haha I hope you enjoy them!
Lemon Ginger and Cherry coco sound delish!! I I'm thinking Cranberry orange would be another great combo. Thanks for the recipes and inspo!
I’ve been slacking a bit on cooking at home recently, this is some great motivation. I’ll make some for a backpacking trip next weekend! Thanks Derek!
The peanut butter ones fried my food processor. My food processor has been with me for over four years while on my plant based journey. A very sad day. I have ingredients for the lemon ginger and cranberry tahini ones, but will have to wait until I get a new machine. I wish I had made the peanut butter ones last. On a brighter note, the peanut butter chocolate energy balls are so freaking delicious!
These all look so good! I just made the cranberry tahini ones. I don’t like almonds but had some in the pantry, so I figured I’d make those. They are so good but incredibly greasy. 🤔. Maybe my tahini? Next time I may reduce the tahini or add a few oats. I can’t try the others.
I think these would be perfect camping snacks.
There’s a couple in there that I’ll definitely make. I’ll likely roll them a tad smaller, but will be doing a couple for sure! Thank you very much! 🇨🇦
Yeah I made minę so big, lol. They can be made smaller for sure.
The lemon ginger sounds delicious
Wow, ok, I don't know which ones to make first!
YUM!!!! will try all of these
Love these quick recipe videos!
Ive been looking for a recipe for these and its perfect that you have recipes because i absolutely trust your food making as ive tried so many recipes and ive never been let down once ❤
So glad your video popped up sitting down to watch it now 😀😊❤️
I definitely gonna try these!!
There is sooo much variety 🤗
They all look amazing!
These all sound SO good and are gorgeous!
They look amazing
They all sound amazing! Thanks for sharing 😊
I can't wait to make all of these. It would be great to keep in the refrigerator and then pack in the cooler for a road trip or just to the store. Also they would be great as gifts to put together in a nice box with one of each flavor.
Thanks for the idea of the gift 👍
These all look delicious!
Update: I just made these. I rift on the recipe even more. Added apricots, but 1/2 the dates, skipped the lemon juice and added a tsp of molasses and water, I’ve rolled them in chopped almonds, in the fridge now!😍😍
Nice! Hope you enjoy them!
@@Simnettnutrition They are just yummy! Thank you!
Yum! I'm going to try a tahini, oat, chocolate ball.
Totally going to try the cherry cocoa nib energy balls!!!
Chocolate PB always a classic, but,,,the carrot cake one...
These are all going to be great options for summer snacking for my kids.
Yes! Great to have the recipe in the description! Thanks!
Another amazing post! Unusual with the lemon and candied (sugared) ginger. All look fabulous and great to stress how fresh and easy all of these are! Best from Colorado!
Thanks for these!
You're welcome!
Chocolate and cherry for sure, I'm trying to lose some weight right now so these may have to wait awhile. maybe I'll just make tiny ones for that little bit of sweet I like after a meal. Thank you so much for all your inspiration
The chocolate and cherry ones are not very sweet because cacao nibs are bitter - they have more of a dark chocolate vibe!
All of them!!1 Look amazing.😊
OMG.....yay!!!!
Thanks so much for these recipes!!!
I'm excited to try all of these. WoooHooo!
Heaps of best wishes to you folks!
Again, thank you!
