@anderson Yeah, it's like the way Saturday Night Live does digital shorts, or the way Conan used to do occasional remotes in his old format.
@anderson Yeah, it's just how people are. Watch a Dave Chappelle special, alone, and you might laugh at 1/10 jokes, at best. Audience laughs at just about every one, hysterically if it's actually really funny. It isn't that Dave Chappelle is having editors Frankenstein together fake laughter for all the times the 600 people on the auditorium chuckled quietly.
If you ever go to a taping, they have comedians warming up the crowd; Conan and Andy working the crowd; it's an environment built to get people laughing. I don't think anyone doubts that the crowd noise during the monologue is real, so it isn't like they aren't set up to record the audience. It would take a lot more work to create an artificial crowd than just showing them the tape. Which is why they just show the tape.
The ending was very inspirational. I need to stay off the eucalyptus and apply myself more.

As an Australian who has spent many years in our countryside I appreciate Conan's gentle humour. Travel shows always like to make a big deal of how many dangerous species we have but in reality, unless you have an underlying health issue, even if you are bitten you will survive. It's a benign country. You are more likely to fall victim to the sheer size of the country than it's wildlife.
