It’s also for personal growth I guess. I had to break out of my comfort zone coz I’m quite introverted. First semester I didn’t share the room. Second semester I had to share with 3 other guys. So you can imagine my discomfort. I had to break through that and learn to talk. The convenience was that there was a study area at our res with WiFi. So if you don’t want to go to the library on campus, you know you are sorted (provided that that res has that facility).
Thank you for this, peace of mind for me, I thought res would be a better option for my daughter first year for 2023 as firstly the varsity is in a different province and thought better for her to experience and make friends and if she does not enjoy at least she can find a friend to share private accommodation later.
@@sethucasewell7286 in that case you will need to find alternative accommodation, maybe private accommodation that will be covered by NSFAS - this might be a commune.
@@Reholile hey the thing is, I'm doing applications for grade 12 students, so one of them applied on their own and skipped the part for residence and the application is already submitted. But still, I can not find an option to apply for it on the student portal
Hey, please find your university’s Student housing office and ask to apply for res on campus (if applications are still open). If applications are closed, you’ll have to stay off campus

Hey Advice Thank you for the compliment 😊 Yes, if you stay at a catering res, you will get less pocket money from NSFAS compared to someone who stays at a self catering residence (where they have to cook for themselves)

I am glad I could help. I think res also gives parents a peace of mind, so that's good.
Heyy
Do you recommend the res called ‘My Student Sa’ I’m asking cause I’ve never heard you talk about it on your videos
Hey Khuthii, I looked it up. It looks like a good place, I definitely recommend it too.
@@Reholile okay thank you♥️
Hi, did you have to share the room in first year?
Hey, I did but after the semester I moved to a single room
What if nsfas does not pat the whole amount. And you're expected to pay the remainder of which you're not able?what's the way out
If NSFAS does not pay the whole amount required by your university residence?
