    Today's Matinee Show brings you the BARGAD interview - our long-form cinema interview segment. Our first BARGAD interview is with noted theatre & film actor and motivational speaker Ashish Vidyarthi. He has won a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for film Drohkaal directed by Govind Nahalani. But Ashish Vidyarthi is most popular for his role in Ziddi (1997) where he played evil brother-in-law Inder of Sunny Deol's character. Ashish Vidyarthi has also done films like Naajayaz, Jeet, Is Raat Ke Subah Nahin, Daud, Major Saab, Soldier, Yamraaj, Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Arjun Pandit, Jaanwar, Vaasatav, Badal, Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, Refugee, LOC: Kargil, Jaal The Trap, Rakta Charitra, Barfi, and Haider. Since 2001, Ashish Vidyarthi has so many Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and other language films. In South Indian film industries he has worked with Vikram in Dhill (2001, Tamil), with Vijay in Ghilli (2004, Tamil), with Mahesh Babu in Pokiri (2006, Telugu, remade in Hindi as Wanted), with Allu Arjun and Arya in Varudu (2010, Telugu), with Ravi Teja in Kick 2 (2015, Telugu), with Mohanlal and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in Janatha Garage (2016, Telugu) and many more films.
    In this BARGAD interview with The Lallantop Editor Saurabh Dwivedi, Ashish Vidyarthi talks about his childhood, his father Govind Vidyarthi and mother Reba Vidyarthi. His memories of living in Delhi in a rented house as a single child. The things his father taught him, fond memories, anecdotes. The experience of friends and people calling him KALU. How he used to stay at Vishal Bhardwaj's hostel room at Hindu Collage with Manoj Bajpayee and other friends? How Ashish Vidyarthi got admission into National School of Drama (NSD)? His theatre days with Sambhav theatre group. His first theatre teacher Sushma Seth. What did he learn from theatre legends Ram Gopal Bajaj, Ranjeet Kapoor and others. Ashish reveals the reason why once he cried incontrollably in Egypt. He shares a heart breaking anecdote when once he was cast in Doordarshan serial Hum Log and later replaced by an other actor. That day he cry so bad roaming on the streets. Ashish Vidyarthi Also tells why he had to take route of mainstream commercial cinema.
