Thanks for the vlog Martin. Our C250 was flushing but hardly any water was coming out. Your useful showed me how to remove the pump and check the pipes. I had a blockage in the pump hose. One removed all good again. Getting the pump back into the housing is a nightmare! Cheers.
Hi Simon, Glad the vlog helped, I had the same difficulty getting the pump back in but didn’t show it on the vlog....I was swearing too much 🤣🤣 Cheers, Martin
Another on Holiday repair sent me a list of sites you intend to visit this year just in case i have a problem will have you on 24 hour call out LOL well done Dave
Hi Dave, it’s getting to be a regular occurrence 🤨 I go round everyone’s caravan when on site to see if they have any jobs need doing 😂 On with enjoying our break now. Thanks for comments and watching, Martin 😊
hi thanks for this, we arrived on-site to find the flush not working, with your vlog we successfully replaced the pump and card - just showed us what to do thanks again
Great Vid Martin. I have learnt something now and will be fully armed if mine ever breaks down. You seem to be a bit unlucky with pump failures etc for such a relatively new van !!! I hope Bailey are watching. Nick T.
We have to do repairs while on holiday, but watching your channel give us a lot of tips with yourself and Dan you seem to make caravanning a lot easier, keep up the good work 👍
Hi Martin my thetford toilet is leaking when the flap is shut ,think it’s the seal on the basin but not sure what it is called ? It’s not the lip seal . Looked on RUclips could only find one video on how to change one could be classed as a mechanism seal ? Any ideas on how to change ,name etc ? Thanks Gary
Hi Gary, as far as I’m aware the only seals are on the cassette it’s self. I use Leisure Shop direct for diagrams, have a look at this link and my maybe able to find the seal you want. www.leisureshopdirect.com/water/caravan-toilet/thetford-cassette-toilets/thetford-c-250-cassette-toilet-and-spares#ppSpecs[s]/2/ Hope that helps, let me know how you get on, Cheers Martin 🙂
When I first did it it just pulled down, I realised I didn’t film it so put it back up, big mistake, it took me ages to get it back down! Glad you’ve got it sorted. Cheers
Hi Bob, yes checked it, power into pcb but nothing out. Pump wasn’t working, just changed them both then I know it’s right. Enjoying the sun now ☀️😊 Thanks for watching, Martin 😊
I thought that about the bigger pipe, it’s the only pipe facing down and the shorter one faces up and is under pressure from the pump so think that maybe why there’s no clip. Will check it out though.
Hi Martin! Great video, straight to the point and very informative. Looks like the new pump is much more powerful than ours is in same age 'van. I hope I can do mine in as little as 3:35 when it needs doing 😉! Just a quick Q if you don't mind.... What were the symptoms you had which made you know to change the pump/circuit board? Cheers, Stephen 👍
Hi Stephen Yes thought I’d make it straight to the point! As we have only had the van just over a year I strongly suggest that the previous owner didn’t look after it. The pump is much stronger than the old one which make me think it was possibly getting clogged up. There were no symptoms it’s just didn’t work when we got on site, we haven’t used it since Moreton! Hi. I have a bailey pegasus with thetford C-250 toilet, I've noticed when I've gone to empty the cassette there has been a puddle of pink flush leaking into the compartment. Does anyone know what this could be? Thanks
Hi Josh, there are 2 pipes within the cassette area just as you open the cassette door. They could be leaking, they have spring connectors that push together to release. There is one of the pipes n the pump that doesn’t have a connector on it, just in case you think you have lost one. Let me know how you get on, Cheers Martin
@@TheCaravanNutHi Martin I'll have a look tomorrow and take the pump out, check all the connections. I can't see it being the pump it self leaking as the pump is in working order. I know cracked pumps are a common issue but would this result in the pump not working? Thanks
@@TheCaravanNut Hi Martin. Took the pump out today and the bottom of the pump has actually broke off, so I glued it all back together and the pump is all okay and no leaks. See how it goes the next time I use it.
Strange as it may seam I’ve never checked the toilet 🚽 don’t even know if it works But if it does not I know now what to do Thanks for the good info Gavin
Hi mate, wondering if you could help me with this - you seem to know your stuff. The blue clips that hang down (which you press in to drop the pump down), well on my 2010 coachman there's a drip (pretty rapid drip) which eventually drains the whole cistern. Then that goes on to flood the bathroom inside. Anyway, it's under warranty but the shop is over 2 hours away and a lot of messing. From what you know about the pump - can you see why that might be happening? I assume the pump is fully submerged in the cistern tank? Could just be the pump's a bit loose? Thanks! Keep up the vids, VERY helpful.
The pump is not inside the cistern tank just the pipe from the pump connected to the bottom of the tank. It could be that connection to the cistern or pump side that is not sealed properly, it could be coming from the pump itself or a crack or split in the tank. I would drop the pump down still connected and get someone to press the flush to see if you can locate the drip. This should be covered under warranty for parts. Hope this helps and you manage to sort it. Cheers
@TheCaravanNut thank you mate that's a HUGE help. I'll drop the pump and have a nose. Until I seen your video I didn't know it could drop out that way. Although - mine is grey and not blue, hope that's just a color thing. Thanks again
@@TheCaravanNut you were right mate, it was the pump itself. And it's grey because its an aftermarket one, not official thetford. It had split. Would I be a fool to buy aftermarket again? It's less than half the price!
@@TheCaravanNut I take the cassette out over winter, carry spare fuse, spare reed switch pcb and spare pump. I use chock block and take the pump off over winter keeping it dry in the house. No more replacing pumps each spring
Great vlog Martin good to see your busy, did you have the toilet cassette in when you tested the flush at the end? Don’t want you getting damp feet 🦶🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the great video. Our Bailey Ranger S6 has developed a slight leak over the winter, the toilet flush fluid is dripping down from above the pump and this is gathering in the compartment below the waste water tank and then seeping inside the caravan from under the toilet. I used this guide to remove the pump today to check. The pump on ours appears ok but there is a non return valve above the pump which seems to have failed and is leaking. I've sourced one on Amazon, www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07D3BQ72V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_A4J44QFB9W9CDXP981ZQ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 , so will have a go at replacing it. I'm dreading getting the pump back in as the wiring connector that goes on the PCB board inside the toilet has dropped out of the hole and there's very limited space to work with!
It is an awkward part to get to, I did struggle to get the pump out at first. The only other option is to remove the toilet but that another big job. Thanks for comments and watching
Well I fitted the none return valve and it's still leaking. It turns out there is a hairline crack at the bottom of the pump as well. Despite draining the tank prior to winter storage it appears that water remains in the pipe which runs from the water reservoir and connects to the pump, I'm guessing this has frozen causing the pump to crack. I'm going to try and glue it first and see how I get on! 🤞

As already said a great vlog 👍 did exactly same to my bailey this morning. Watched your video longer than it took me to change 🤣
Glad it helped and you got it sorted.

Great video and we don’t have an out put on the button circuit, do you know what we need to do ?
Could be the fuse in the consumer unit or a loose connection. Sometimes the silver connectors on the board fail. Hope you manage to sort it.
Very good job well done and handy to know 👍

How do uou undo the black clip things in the pipes to the pump?
Hi, you squeeze the ends together which releases the pressure and you should be able to slide them down. Hope that helps.
So how do you get the pump out
Pus pull or twist
Got it with extreme prejudice lol
