A couple of suggestions: First, dropshot isn't the best method. I tested dropshot with a small jig as my weight and caught all my fish on the jig right off the bottom. Second, fish farther out from the waterfalls. I know those locations. The bigger fish usually stay out near deeper water. Up close will get you lots of small fish. Finally, in spite of the size of the Bullards spots, small plastics and light lines is the way to go. You'll catch more fish and an occasional fish over 6#. I like a 4" Roboworm fished either Neko or NED styles. I use very little weight - 1/16 oz., maybe 3/32 if I'm fishing deeper.
Doesn't look nearly cold enough outside for the big girls to hug the bottom, needs to be brutally cold. I feel the pain of this video, dinks abound 90% of the time up there.
I have put the videos on the back burner for a while. I have been working on our other businesses and trying to sell the boat. I have a new idea for a show that I am working on.
First off, another great video. Your production value and editing is awesome. 4:04 - Had a day like that at Whiskeytown last summer. I could see the fish, they could see the bait, and I couldn't do anything to get them to bite. I said screw it and decided to catch Bluegill and Crappie (lol) 6:06 I feel ya! 16:16 Oh man... that is tough, sorry for the drone loss bud. The thing I like about your vids is It's THE TRUTH... keep on keeping it real Aaron!
Hey Aaron great video. Tough break about the drone. I hope you recover it. I know you were hoping to catch more and bigger fish but I learn more from you when it's a tough bite or you don't catch them right away. I like to watch your process of breaking down a body of water. Have a great FIESTA FRIDAY tomorrow!
Thanks Ronnie. I won't be going back to look for it and I have already replaced it. Just one of those costly learning experiences. I am glad you got some take-aways from the vid. Arriba!
Aaron, man that was a heartbreaker trip. Sorry to hear about the drone. Always a good show, I like the new format, well done. My boys are excited about the new video. Isaac keeps asking if you have posted a new video. Have you ever done anything fishing in Idaho?
Hi Flint. Thanks. I know that was a hard lesson to learn. I haven't fished in Idaho but apparently they have great mountain biking and fly fishing. It's on my bucket list
No clue how old that Google Earth pic is. I didn't launch at Dark Day but the dam was fine. Plenty of parking and launched the boat with my 25ft rv with no issues.

Awesome info dude I appreciate it !

Yea. I though the cloud cover and chilly weather would bring out some big girls. I got the dink pattern down..haha
@@alesieur1971 Kudos to you for trying to catch em' Aaron, I don't get up there nearly enough myself.
One of the Places on my bucketlist!
absolutely gorgeous up there..
you gonna make some more video's soon!
Yes it is.

I dig the videos, editing, and content. I love quality RUclipsrs from NorCal!
Thanks Mackenzie!
Nice work Aaron. Sorry to hear about the drone. That REALLY sucks!!!
Thanks buddy. Yea, hard lesson learned for sure...

How's the launch there at Bullards? Google earth it looked like a one boat at a time deal. New to boating so trying to pre plan.

How in the world do you have only 1000 followers????? Awesome thanks for sharing!!!!!! You are the best.
Thanks Ted! It's a grind buddy. Thanks for watching
I think you should take a fan fishing, like me!
I do. They are called guide trips ;) haha
Well maybe I'll have to do that.
Aaron Lesieur Outdoors Best answer ever!
;)
Just let me know :)
I will be happy to catch dinks rather than the skunk. To bad about the drone.
I agree. Can't complain when they are tugging the line. The drone crash was tough lesson to learn...
That’s part of fishing. Rarely does it go the way you plan!!!
Totally agree!
All well and good if you have a boat. Would like to see some episode for those of us who don't
Great video! Heading up there this next week any chance I could get the coordinates where you crashed that drone?
Thanks Tim. The coordinates are at 16:18 of the video. That screen inset is the flight log data from the drone… let me know if you find it!
I feel like high sunny days are better for spotted and smallmouth bass. It glues them to bottom on overcast they suspend are soooo hard to catch
It's all about timing. I have had good days in all conditions.
I am going to folsom lake on monday, any tips?
I heard the bite up the north arm is pretty good. Check out RB bass. They have a few fishing reports on there. I haven't fished Folsom in a while.
Great video and great editing! New sub.
Want to see a 7 lbr on bullards? Check out my vids on Bullards ;). But we all have those "dink days".
Thanks buddy. Nice catch!
More like Bangor! Not grass valley
ZERO RESPECT for use of cameras. Like sonar isn't enough for YOU to prove there are fish. Simply pitiful. REAL FISHERMAN don't need cameras
