The presenter explains that reports are useful for sharing coding structures, code content, and applying filters to show specific codes or documents. The video provides step-by-step instructions on exporting reports to Word, including annotations, relationships, and hyperlinks. It also highlights the option to customize reports and export them in different formats such as PDF, Excel, RTF, or HTML.

Thank you so much for this. Very helpful! I have a few questions though...
    • How do you create an option for Coding Structure by File Formatted Report, as none exists in the pre-set NVivo formatted reports?
    • Do you have any videos on how to create or design formatted reports in NVivo? If not, do you know where I can find one or instructions.
    • I am looking to get just the codes from particular interviewees and I just need their codes and themes - and not the extract of the codes. Is there anyway of exporting a filtered coding from say particular interviewees or files?
Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Hi Benny, I had said in this video that I would release a video showing how to customise reports, but I have not done it yet. I will release this video on the channel in the next couple of days,.

Thank you so much. Can you please suggest if we can correct transcripts while coding in Nvivo.

Yes, click on the 'Edit' option at the top of your transcript, and you can correct the text as desired. I hope this response is helpful, but do let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

What about the participant's names in a focus group? Instead of the name of the file, I need the name of the person talking in the transcript. Can I export that?

You can customise reports to add fields so a standard formatted report. See this video: ruclips.net/video/N7rDsK4Nkvk/видео.htmlsi=T-YpOLKz-2lwV-KI Alternatively, you could turn on your coding stripes for cases and the speaker's name will appear adjacent to each comment. You can print the transcript with coding stripes displayed to Word, PDF or paper. I hope this helps.

    I don't have a "Reports" option below visualizations option. I am using a Mac, 1.7.1 (4844)

There is no report writer as yet on the MAC version of NVivo I'm afraid. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I have replied to this question by direct email as the answer was too long for posing in this forum. In summary: All you need is a Framework Matrix to give you what you need. This tool is more commonly used for conducing 'Framework Analysis'; a recognised data analysis method (Ritchie & Spencer, 1994), but can be used in a broader context and would suit your purpose very well. Here is a link to a short video showing the steps. You need to look in particular at the 'auto-summarize' feature to populate the cells with content and please note* notwithstanding the name, it does not summarise, but places all comments in the cell: qdatraining.com/using-the-framework-matrix-grid-in-nvivo/
