Pretty much the loudest Straight 5 engine in the world and an #HillclimbMonster on its own right
This is a (mainly) Drag car, doing a hill climb, with a 1000hp, quattro. Driver is absolutely insane, you have some balls of steel😂 . Great video!!!
To everyone criticising, this is first and foremost a drag car, so that explains the bad cornering. It's still nice to see the owner having fun in this

Almost no one would buy it in that body style, since it's less aerodynamic meaning it uses more fuel and most people want a modern looking car. Also safety regulations probably won't allow that exact body anymore.

he did pretty well for a 1000 horsepower Audi that's intended only for straight-line speed and has terrible cornering.

20v 5cyl is one of the best sounding engines ever made. No denying that. Wish I could've owned a quattro coupe back in the day. My buddy Nick has a couple real badass Audi 200's he built. The sedan is around 800awhp last I knew. Thing is a fuckin beast. Great clip, appreciate the share!

I bet everyone saying "bad driver" has never driven anything over 300hp, let alone 1,000+ AND turbo lag on top of the short wheelbase. Just keeping that car in a straight line full throttle would be hard enough. You gotta have some serious balls just to mash the gas, nevermind keep it on the tarmac around corners.
Everybody has to be a keyboard warrior though, because we all know everyone in the comments is a better driver than everyone in the videos.
the only problem here was that the car was not setup for such a short track full of turns and the big turbo doesn't forgive much ! with another setup , I say around 700 BHP maximum , smaller turbo , better tires and brakes you would think this was a ballerina !!!! Perhaps the driver was testing the limits of his car and his own limits but he certainly did well !!!! Brave man !!!!
delinquentJACK I had a foxbody mustang (short wheelbase and lightweight) with a procharged 362 SBF that made just under 1100hp at the wheels. That thing was sideways every chance it got. I used to take it on so e of the gravel and dirt backroads down here in southern Missouri- you wanna talk about a wild fkn ride 🤣🤣🤣
He could be shifting more smoothly. It's undeniable and I bet even the guy driving would agree. However this is more of a showcase with ametuer drivers. As someone said this is supposed to be set up for drag, so yea there are a lot of things working against him. But, it's not that hard to shift on time. Especially if that has a sequential, which it should. The only time I actually thought wtf dude was at the end when he ran to high in 3rd I think. In any case you (OP) ended up putting yourself on the other end of the keyboard warrior spectrum. It's not like 1000hp is unheard of in street cars anymore.

Five cylinder firing orders never have the dead spot of firing like other cars. ( there is always another cylinder firing before the one before stops firing so the power delivery is always there so when you have that motor making that kinda horsepower i can’t imagine you would ever be able to drive it on a course without peddling the shit out of it

Never let me down and was something over 300 bhp.

To the uninitiated below, it wasn't "bad cornering" its a Quattro Sport, SWB, Rally car which happens to be 4WD and it rides on all 4 suspensions unlike today's cars which are low profile with larger tyres. and corner like they are on rails - computerized. This car actually needs to be driven - manually! Iconic machine.

I remember being little and sticking my fingers in my ears when nasty cars like this were around. It was overwhelming. I thought people who owned vehicles like this were criminals and bad guys. I assumed that because their car was so loud and fast they didnt care for other people. Its funny realizing that now. The louder and more aggressive a car is now I am drawn to it like a moth to a porch light. This car and the person who built it have done something incredible. Making me feel like a little kid again.

That quattro was just not setup for hillclimbing. The suspension setup had it bouncing all over the place, narrow tires with no grip, no aero, high turbo lag, gear ratios were off.
F.y.i No nobody builds a 1000hp+ car and completely sucks at driving they would at least have to be decent.
That's because it's setup for drag racing at 1000m.
The car's setup sucks,it is made for drag. Still so dissapointing to hear this monster roar and not turn at least medium.

C'est pas une saxo VTS non plus, c'est un réel classique cette voiture, c'est compréhensible qu'il ne roule pas pied au plancher ! Vu le prix d'une Quattro ( Original ou en kit ) Pas énormément de personne sont capable d'assumer la casse de ce genre de véhicule et en plus avec une telle puissance, ça doit être un véritable challenge ... Y'a de grande chance que le pilote roule pour le plaisir et voit avant tout ça comme une sortie et pas comme un time attack ( Surtout si l'a voiture n'a pas été construite pour ça )
