    8:30 you neglect to mention that, as a taunt, it doesn't need to attack enemy minions from aggro decks (as they will want to remove the card from the board anyway), thus generally bypassing the negative overkill effect. If they trade in, with such high health it will serve the player well, and if it gets silenced, it is still decent. Against control decks, this card would either be straight-up removed via spell or annihilated by a larger minion, and again, the overkill won't matter much. Worst-case scenario: just don't attack. A 5 mana always-taunt Nesting Roc +1 health and a better tribal tag for the class it will be played in still sounds great to me.
    Slam down two of these bad boys, let them die, then bring them back with Guldan. 32 health of taunt overall with a manageable downside. I'd play it.

    Blizzard should have an expansion that's just user submitted cards. They can have a contest and edit their favorite submissions to make them work in the game. They can highlight creative ideas that wouldn't work in standard in a tavern brawl. Naturally, anyone whose card gets in would get a free ticket to BlizzCon. The Purging of Strathholme was made into a 5 man Dungeon in World of Warcraft way back in the day. Then it was released as a level 80 dungeon during Wrath of the Lich King, likely because it was kind of an important event in the Lich King's story line. It was an alright dungeon, had a very annoying opening act though. You basically had to sit there for like 10mins "Experiencing" the story before you could actually start the dungeon. Luckily a skip option was patched in eventually.

    The overkill on the Inferno Guard doesn't even matter, we know that Overkill only triggers on your turn, so if they have a board of weenies, you're not killing yourself with this card. Plus, it's taunt so there's not much reason you'd attack a weenie instead of face with this card anyway.

    • @3ternalHours

      Nah, the way most cards like this work is they assign damage, then actually 'destroy' the minions after the effect ends, so deathrattles couldn't do it. Now minions that trigger off of taking damage however, might be able to do it.

      Stealth vs immunity is an interesting concept though. Stranglethorn will die to weird AoEs (mass hysteria, dragons breath) and can get frozen or such. I dont know if immune minions are susceptible to brawl or twisting nether, but this one has a wider range of safeguard.

    I'm curious how annihilate interacts with resurrection mechanics. Say you cast in on something and it gives the minion a return with 1hp DR and then immediately kills it would annihilate stop there or would it keep going since the minion came back during the same turn?

    • @ultimateabsol1268
      @ultimateabsol1268 5 лет назад +3

      What if you rolled a polymorph on the minion? Or what about sap? Or psychic scream? Or what if it was a friendly beast and you got bestial wrath? Or, played deathspeaker on the target first? Or devolve? Or, if it keeps casting if the minion is bounced, you mindcontroled it, got shadowstep, then got catacylsm? Would discarding the minion end the cast. Or what if after psychic scream you got void contract and milled it from deck? All I'm trying to say is it would be a coding nightmare for blizzard.

      @PhilerinoBTW 5 лет назад +2

      Pretty sure it'd be something along the lines of 'if transformed or otherwise removed from the board' the effect terminates.
      I've never actually come across the situation, but how does 'Immune' affect things like Twisting Nether or Psychic Scream? Other than those in a specific order, everything else would be taken care of with the above 'rules'.

    • @ultimateabsol1268
      @ultimateabsol1268 5 лет назад +2

      Philerino Immune only prevents damage, not destroy or bounce effects. So twisting would kill an immune thing, and psychic would bounce it.

      I think it should say "until it's gone" because a. It's funny and b. What if the card is shuffled into someone's deck, or transformed, it would keep going until the stack limit. However, if it's "until it's gone" or "out of play" then it would stop in either of those cases

    omg the possibilites of mechanics! please blizzard in the next set add cards that interact with the scrolling action bar, it would add so many things to learn and become consistent with, knowing how many cards or effects you need to use to get rid of things fast if it effects you negatively, or holding back playing cards to conserve it's place if it affects you positively

      Kripp said "buff it after it silences itself" so play it. Next turn it silences itself. Now you can buff it and make it more powerful. And it wont silence itself again because it is already silenced and lost the ability to silence itself. Thats all what the card does.
