8:30 you neglect to mention that, as a taunt, it doesn't need to attack enemy minions from aggro decks (as they will want to remove the card from the board anyway), thus generally bypassing the negative overkill effect. If they trade in, with such high health it will serve the player well, and if it gets silenced, it is still decent. Against control decks, this card would either be straight-up removed via spell or annihilated by a larger minion, and again, the overkill won't matter much. Worst-case scenario: just don't attack. A 5 mana always-taunt Nesting Roc +1 health and a better tribal tag for the class it will be played in still sounds great to me. Slam down two of these bad boys, let them die, then bring them back with Guldan. 32 health of taunt overall with a manageable downside. I'd play it.
Blizzard should have an expansion that's just user submitted cards. They can have a contest and edit their favorite submissions to make them work in the game. They can highlight creative ideas that wouldn't work in standard in a tavern brawl. Naturally, anyone whose card gets in would get a free ticket to BlizzCon. They could call the expansion "Interplanar Invasion" or something.

Hallion Drake just has more complicated stealth. Dethrone references the history bar. Enough said. Annihilate is yogg but better. The Purging of Strathholme was made into a 5 man Dungeon in World of Warcraft way back in the day. Then it was released as a level 80 dungeon during Wrath of the Lich King, likely because it was kind of an important event in the Lich King's story line. It was an alright dungeon, had a very annoying opening act though. You basically had to sit there for like 10mins "Experiencing" the story before you could actually start the dungeon. Luckily a skip option was patched in eventually.
7:00 With wording like this it means that it: a)Woldnt kill a divine shield minion b)Would go infinite, if destroyed a minion with an aoe deathrattle first, making it a 4 mana kill all minion on the board (unless they are immune, of course).
Inferno guard (the 5 mana 4/8 taunt) goes into zoolock. Just use it as a tar creeper to go face and maybe kill a couple of minions since you'll most likely win on the board.
emberscale drake is actually kinda interesting in a priest resurrect deck, or in wild if it gets pulled from the deck/generated as a 1/1, since when it silences itself it goes back to max stats.
The overkill on the Inferno Guard doesn't even matter, we know that Overkill only triggers on your turn, so if they have a board of weenies, you're not killing yourself with this card. Plus, it's taunt so there's not much reason you'd attack a weenie instead of face with this card anyway.
I think that one of the set design advantages of Magic over Hearthstone is the block structure because it allows the later sets in the same block to play with the mechanics from earlier ones, that Curio dude s just the kind of thing that'd work that way.
Nah, the way most cards like this work is they assign damage, then actually 'destroy' the minions after the effect ends, so deathrattles couldn't do it. Now minions that trigger off of taking damage however, might be able to do it.
Annihilate would struggle in various ways. First, what happens if you return it to the owners hand or deck, how can it be destroyed or targeted by spells then until it is destroyed. Second, what happens if it becomes immune?

Isn’t annihilate just a better yoga saron
omg the possibilites of mechanics! please blizzard in the next set add cards that interact with the scrolling action bar, it would add so many things to learn and become consistent with, knowing how many cards or effects you need to use to get rid of things fast if it effects you negatively, or holding back playing cards to conserve it's place if it affects you positively
I don't think that is a good idea. The history bar is meant to display information not be a game mechanic.
I thought this was going to be the meme user created cards. Maybe next time? Annihilate seems fun. Probably end up with some buffed or extra minions towards the end
If you buff the Hallion Drake, won't it just silence itself again on your next turn, removing the buff?
Ah, that makes sense.
Man, the nostalgia with the Stralhome card, when Arthas went too far off the edge
I don't think you should buff hallion drake because the silence is continuos.
Always love your vids, you're wonderful people and much love to you both
I mean sure you can buff the Hallion Drake, but it's just gonna silence itself next turn anyways. But I guess that makes it all the more interesting.
Only the first turn, then it silences its own ability to silence itself
Kripp said "buff it after it silences itself" so play it. Next turn it silences itself. Now you can buff it and make it more powerful. And it wont silence itself again because it is already silenced and lost the ability to silence itself. Thats all what the card does.
Aiming practice your own Hallion Drake, ez board wipe and the silence would give it back its lost hp
Quitted Hearthstones after witchwood, but I’ll forever watch Troden and ur pick for best user cards!
9 pm upload? A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.
Curio Merchant with Stonehill Defender in paladin = OH GAWD
For Interesting card mechanics, have a look at mobile game Horus Heresy Legions
These cards are so cool!
Wouldn't the Hallion Drake silence itself every turn, removing any buffs you put on it in the "2 turn combo"?
once you silence it it'll stop silencing itself because it has no more text. the point is it's guaranteed to last a turn so you could use say an inner fire combo on it when it's your turn again.
It loses the silence yourself effect once it silences itself.
Yepyep. Thanks. Woops.
Yogg casting annihilate would be insane
Here's a funny idea for a warlock card:
5 mana buff a minion card, whenever your hero takes damage, double this minions attack.
Easiest OTK ever. Stop with these cancer ideas!
