- Recently I went shopping/hunting for vinyl records at 5 stores, which were Target, Walmart, Barnes and Noble, Half Price Books, and my local record store. Am I the only one who cringes when she says she "doesn't recognize anything" as she walks by The Beatles and Eagles, then flips past Sade and Run DMC?
Well I am very young lol 🤷🏽♀️ I know who the Beatles are but that’s about it.

@@valuevinylwithmark no worries I wasn’t offended or anything, I found it funny. I actually see more older music at my local stores than the newer music that I listen to lol. That’s why I usually never end up buying anything in stores 😭

These vinyl videos are the best! I actually have that Dark Knight album which I found in 2nd and Charles (same thing as Half Priced Books). It's a nice pressing and sounds great. I don't have the original Batman score but I do have Batman Returns which also sounds great!
Batman movie soundtracks are the best and I love them on vinyl!
Don't get rid of stuff. You'll regret it later. Just find another place to put it, because you never know when you might want to check those albums out again.
Thanks for the advice. I got rid of records I don’t play much or I just don’t want anymore. Most of them weren’t worth a lot so if I regret it I can buy it again for around the same price. Purging my collection every one in a while helps me keep it small. I like having a small collection and at the moment I don’t really have space anywhere else for my LPs.
Awesome collecting again! great to see where you go when I go Chicago I always go to Reckless Record my favorite record store in Chicago now I don’t mind go to Record Store Day store I gotta check that out sometime keep on collecting!! 🙌🏼
Next time I go to Chicago I’ll have to check out Reckless Records. You should try to go to the next RSD drop it’s in June! I’ll probably be collecting forever lol!
Awesome yea me too I’ll be collecting forever and thanks I’ll check it out for sure I go reckless record on 1379 N Milwaukee Ave all the time but they have 3 different reckless store in Chicago idk which is near for you or just go all see what they got lol I’m sure you will love it will have a records that you likes! I notice you love collecting soundtracks vinyl reckless definitely have plenty of that 💯

Barnes and Noble and Target are where I buy most of my records but mainly I order off EBAY ones that are hard to find
Usually I only buy records online but I found some cool ones in store
I want The Weeknd or Beyonce vinyls ❤❤❤ which I will get eventually

That colored pressing of The Dark Knight looks awesome. By far my favorite Batman movie and now I'm seriously considering picking that one up. I still need to get Dawn FM by The Weeknd and Future Nostalgia by Dua Lipa as well. Also, the composer of the Blade Runner soundtrack, Vangelis, just passed away yesterday and I've been meaning to get that one for awhile.
I might go back for that Dark Knight record lol. I love that movie so much! I might get Dawn FM as well. RIP to Vangelis :(

I was at Barnes and Noble today and a few people came looking through the vinyls and I talked to someone who has a Crosley suitcase record player but is looking to upgrade to the Audio Technica Lp60xbt and I told her that if she signs up to become a Barnes and Noble member she can get the turntable for $180.00 cuz that’s what I did when I got my sister hers

That Baby Driver soundtrack in the record shop is pretty good. I purchased both the cd versions (1 disc & 2 disc version). The movie was one of my first 4K blu-ray's. It's one of those movies I can watch at least once a year. Highly recommended! Where's the chicago house section? You live in Chicago and want to buy Calvin Harris & co? You better support the dj's and producers from your hometown. People like Calvin Harris are just cheesy popstars ;) That Double Dee was an Italo 90s club classic, you can't go wrong with Sade and Bowie. From Bobbie Gentry, Ode to Billie Joe is a great song and album. Run DMC is one of my favorite hip hop artists, next to De La Soul, The Roots, Grandmaster Flash and A Tribe Called Quest.
I haven’t seen Baby Driver but I should check it out. Despite living in the Chicagoland area I’ve never seen a specific Chicago house section in any record store or retail store in my area. They just label it as electronic, but some stores I’ve been to don’t even have an electronic section. I can’t help loving Calvin Harris lol. I actually just got a bunch of CDs and mixtapes from local Chicago DJs. Plenty of Chicago house in there!

I noticed you passed up a lot of classic albums, but I understand you're very young. But maybe you should take a chance and listen to some of the classic I think you might like them.
Which ones did you see that I missed? What classics do you recommend I should listen to?
I saw the Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack, that's a great album. I also saw Sade, she's R&B jazz. I saw Run DMC they are hip hop Duo of the 80s. I saw Helen Reddy, she's pop 70s. Elton John he's awesome. The Jimi Hendrix Experience, he's a Black Rock guitarist. He can play the guitar with his tongue😂😂. I'm sure you would love Fleetwood Mac they're awesome rock group. Those are the artist I recommend you check out I think you'll love them.
And if you ever find Pink Floyd 's "dark side of the Moon" album please get it, that was like the greatest rock album ever made.

They’re a band formed by the rapper Maejor, and the famous Dutch DJ Martin Garrix. I’d describe their music as a mix of pop, EDM, and rap. Give them a listen if you’re interested! They’re not very popular/mainstream and I believe they make their first song together around 2016.

I work so that’s where I get my money from. And I use gift cards from bdays/Christmas. There’s a lot of ways to earn money with or without a job!

@@mikechivy I have it and it works great because I have an Audio Technica Lp60xbt record player. Maybe the reason why you’re experiencing trouble with yours is probably because you have one of those suitcase or all in one record players which aren’t the best quality

You will see Abbey Road on pretty much every list ever made of best albums all time. I brushed it off for so long and didn’t want to give in. But side B is the best side of any record I own. Hands down. You owe it to yourself to at a minimum get that.
